The customer may notice the vehicle has poor acceleration and/or the transmission will not upshift under Wide Open Throttle (WOT). This can be caused by low fuel flow from the fuel pump module.

Auto Trans Rotary Electronic Shifter The rotary shifter is designed to actuate a motor within the device whenever the driver places their foot on the brake, with the car in Park (or Neutral). This generates a noise with each brake press/release. Therefore, even after replacing the shifter for a noise complaint, the replacement part will also have a characteristic noise generated whenever the driver steps on the brake. Before performing a repair procedure for a noise complaint, please perform a subjective analysis of the noise coming from the rotary shifter. If the shifter noise is deemed abnormal sound (has an uncharacteristic buzz or grind), please proceed with normal replacement procedure. If so equipped, record the sound with a handheld microphone, or cell phone, and if noise is above 54dB @ 30cm away from the knob, please proceed with normal replacement procedure. Flash: Powertrain Diagnostic And System Enhancements This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with the latest available software. A small number of customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following DTCs set in the PCM memory: U1424 - Implausible Engine Torque Signal Received (2017 MY 3.0L and 3.6L Only). P2681 - Engine Coolant Bypass Valve Control Circuit Open (3.6L Only). P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit. P2299-00 - Brake Pedal Position/Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible. B23C3 - Stop/Start Disable Switch 1/2 Correlation (3.0L and 3.6L Only). In addition, customers may experience the following conditions: A shorter auxiliary battery life. An illuminated Automatic Oil Change Indication (AOCI) light (3.6L Only). Other enhancements included in this update: Improved knock sensor performance.

Steering Column If vehicle comes in for steering column replacement, verify column installed. Go to Info Column in Star Parts and open the flow chart to determine which column is installed. If column is Daimler, verify that a replacement Daimler column is in stock and use for replacement. If no Daimler column is in stock, replacement must use Presta column (which require a number of other components to be replaced). For more information and details on PN's, see W-Series Flowchart in Star Parts. Contact parts specifying for assistance regarding correct part numbers, for technical assistance contact Star. UPDATE: 11/9/2016 If the new bearing does not fit through the double dash, you need to replace the lower double dash panel to the latest level. Please see the updated flowchart in StarParts for the correct replacement panel.
