2025 Dodge Charger EV | VIN: [XXX] | Purchased: April 11, 2026 | Dealer: Thunder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Bartow, FL I am reporting multiple active, unresolved safety system failures that began within 24 hours of purchase and remain unrepaired after two dealer visits. On April 15–16, 2026, the dealer documented NINE fault codes across FIVE modules, including an active Electronic Throttle Module fault that would not clear — a direct risk of unintended acceleration or loss of speed control. Additional active alerts included ABS failure, brake system failure, airbag system failure, suspension failure, and blind spot system failure. The only repair performed was a software flash. No safety systems were physically repaired. Alerts returned May 2, 2026. Pre-sale service history (undisclosed at sale) shows five battery-charging failures, a July 2025 software fault, and a complete no-start event on December 18, 2025 requiring updates to four electronic modules. A post-purchase repair invoice (April 2025) also documents a Collision Thrust Angle Alignment — a frame geometry procedure performed after structural impact — raising concerns about airbag deployment zone integrity. The vehicle has less than 600 miles on the odometer. The passenger side tie rod separated from the steering knuckle while driving causing a sudden and total loss of steering control. Thankfully it was at low speed so the danger was mitigated. The nut holding the tie rod to the steering knuckle is missing. The vehicle was towed to a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge dealership where it awaits an inspection and repair.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my vehicle due to repeated mechanical failures that have caused it to become unreliable and unsafe. My vehicle has experienced ongoing issues despite multiple repair attempts. Most recently, the vehicle broke down again and left me stranded while I was transporting my mother to a critical cancer appointment and the 1st time had me stranded on the highway late at night. This situation created a serious safety concern, as we were left stuck in the vehicle without reliable transportation for the 3rd time. This is not an isolated incident. The vehicle has previously been in the repair shop for an extended period (over 50 days), for a separate issue that has been resolved. Despite these repeated failures and loss of use, the manufacturer, Stellantis, has declined a buyback request. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle due to its unpredictability and repeated breakdowns. This poses a risk not only to myself and my passengers but potentially to others on the road. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect.

"Between 12,000 and 13,000 miles, the parking brake pedal on my 2023 Dodge Charger began dropping to the floor with no physical resistance. It would fail to engage unless I rocked the vehicle back and forth. During an inspection at 14,000 miles, the dealership discovered the parking brake shoes had completely ground down to bare metal. During this entire period, the vehicle’s active audible safety chime completely failed to warn me of any brake drag while driving. While my specific VIN is not currently included in the manifest, this vehicle make and model has an active Federal Safety Recall (NHTSA Campaign 24V112000) for improperly adjusted parking brakes from the factory. My vehicle is exhibiting the exact mechanical failure described in that recall—an improperly adjusted, overly tight parking brake causing the internal mechanism to stick and drag continuously against the rotor. The manufacturer (Stellantis) and the local dealership (Cutter Dodge) are refusing to inspect the mechanical levers or honor the warranty, falsely claiming it is driver wear-and-tear, despite the active safety sensor failure and my vehicle's identical symptoms to the known federal defect."

The trunk will fail after 3 to 5 attempts to open it. The car is available for inspection. Anything or anyone locked in the trunk cannot be retrieved by exterior trunk release for an undetermined amount of time. The issue has been confirmed by the Dodge dealer and the manufacturer Stellantis. The manufacture Stellantis has sent a representative and they have confirmed the issue. There are no warning signs the trunk will fail.

The vehicle was completely dead on the morning of 2/24/2026. Following the proper jumping procedure, the vehicle was jumped to restore power. A message on the dash stated to "check charging system". This message is generic in nature and usually indicates a 12V battery problem. The vehicle was left on and then plugged in to a Level 2 EV charger. The vehicle then caught fire and destroyed our detached garage. Stellantis did send an independent investigator who indicated that the fire likely started on the front right of the vehicle. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? UKNOWN How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Vehicle caught fire with no warning. If our garage was not detached, we would have lost our home. Others are at risk if this is a design defect. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? UNKNOWN - Vehicle was totaled Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Insurance, Fire, and Stellantis (private third party investigator). Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Vehicle was without power/no start. Vehicle was jumped per manual. Displayed "Check Charging System" and a "red wrench" icon. No other indications that a serious fault was in process.

The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the “Service Shifter” message was intermittently displayed. While driving 60 MPH, the message was displayed and the vehicle shut off immediately. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was shifted into park. After shifting into park and waiting for several minutes, the contact was able to continue driving. A week later, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start, and the gear shifter started flashing a red and white light. The contact immediately turned off the vehicle and waited before restarting it. The gear shifter was no longer flashing. Approximately 2 weeks later, while starting the vehicle, the vehicle experienced battery failure. The battery was replaced, and the vehicle started, and the vehicle was driven. After leaving the vehicle parked for a while, and then restarting the vehicle, the gear shifter started flashing, and the “Service Shifter” message displayed again. The contact drove around at approximately 10 MPH, and the message started flashing more frequently. The contact decided to park the vehicle. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that there was a known issue with the gear shifter. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,075

The car is a 2022 with only 17k miles it started by smelling like gas really bad in the car and outside of it and eventually leaking gas badly so i took it into the dealership and it turns out there is a defective weld on the fuel filler neck and it had been leaking for a while. It was a major fire hazard not just for myself, but others on the road. Filling my garage up with fuel vapors and it was 1 spark away from catching on fire. So I contacted Stellantis to see if they would make it right and they refused to and told me things like that happen. It doesn't sit right with me. There was no warning lamps , messages anything of that sort. The leak was directly next to the exhaust as well.

In early September 2025, I leased a 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. Unfortunately, the vehicle has already been in the dealership service department three separate times since I took delivery. The first two service visits occurred after the vehicle completely bricked and would not turn on. I was informed that the vehicle’s electronic module required updating and that the batteries had repeatedly died. Most recently, the situation has escalated to a significant safety concern. Earlier this week, the vehicle began shaking and intermittently accelerating and decelerating on its own while in operation(I have video proof of this) This behavior poses a serious danger to me and to others on the road. Due to these ongoing issues, I filed a formal complaint with Stellantis and was assigned case number [XXX]. I have been working with Stellantis representative Steve Stander; however, communication has been extremely difficult. Unfortunately, Mr. Stander has not been responsive to phone calls or emails in a timely manner, which has made resolving this matter challenging. At this time, the vehicle is once again in the shop, leaving me without transportation. During our last discussion, Mr. Stander acknowledged that Stellantis understands the vehicle is not dependable and offered $10,000 in down payment assistance along with employee pricing on a new Stellantis product. However, I currently still owe approximately $3,400 on the lease. Given the serious safety issues and repeated failures of the vehicle, I am requesting Stellantis’ assistance in grounding the lease and covering the remaining $3,400 balance so that I may exit this lease. I also previously sent Mr. Stander a video clearly showing the vehicle accelerating on its own to document the issue. I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this matter as quickly as possible. It is urgent that I be able to safely exit this vehicle situation. I am filing a safety defect complaint regarding a 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona (400V electric vehicle platform) that suffered a catastrophic high-voltage system shutdown at approximately 1,261 miles. The vehicle had charge remaining and was being prepared for charging when it experienced a forced EV system shutdown and would not restart. The vehicle displayed partial state-of-charge but became completely electrically inoperative.

While driving, all of a sudden the ABS light, power steering light, electrical control message came up, traction control light all came on. For about 15/20 seconds, I had no power steering, and could not brake. Very scary. This happened 3 different times. During one of these times, everything on my dash went black. Then the heat turned on and we couldn’t roll down the windows. Very scary and dangerous. Especially the not being able to brake for any amount of seconds.
