While driving down the interstate my car jumped a little then I could not go above 20 miles and hour. Once I arrived to a safe location I turned off my engine and then restarted. It seemed ok, but during the incident there was a flash on my dash that said "CHECK THROTTLE". I took it to a service station and they ran a code check on the vehicle. They stated the following: 1. ECM (Engine Control Module) 2. TCM (Transmission Control Module) 3. ORC (Air Bag/Occupant Restraint) My car is a 2017 Chrysler 200 VIN [XXX]. It has 55,600 miles on it, actual miles. Due to these error codes the mechanic stated I need to take the car to a dealership to have them fixed. The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the driver’s and passenger’s seat headrests were deployed without warning. The contact called the dealer and was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V640000 (Seats, Air Bags) which he linked to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the instrument panel lights started blinking. The contact merged to the right lane and the vehicle stalled and lost electrical power. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact was able to jumpstart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the engine oil was replaced. However, the failure reoccurred while driving. The contact stated that she was able to restart the vehicle five minutes later. The contact then drove the vehicle to her residence. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

My wife and daughters almost died in a car accident due to the apparent failure of this vehicle. We were driving on an HWY at night and the car just died out of nowhere. Dash started to flash and just died. We initially thought that it was the mechanic that had just fixed the car but after an investigation concluded that it was not anything they could have done. My family sustained life-threatening injuries and almost did not make it out alive as thee were rear-ended by a truck. Then on top of it when they were hit no airbags deployed which is what caused the injuries to be so much worse. After reading multiple complaints on NHTSA about the same issue for the same year and make I am baffled that this issue has not been addressed. I almost lost my family.

Has been happening every day for the past 3 days. Happened in the beginning after a couple months of having the car and the first time I took it in, they couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the problem.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at 20 MPH and coming to a complete stop, the vehicle started stalling. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pressed the START button and was able to continue to drive. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure reoccurred while his girlfriend was driving. The contact's girlfriend veered to the side of the road, restarted the vehicle, and continued to drive. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys where it was diagnosed that the ignition coil and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in a recall associated with the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000. Consumer called in March or May 2020 and asked if there was a recall on the vehicle because it was stalling and cutting off and was informed that there wasn't.

Numerous problems with vehicle refusing to start when ignition switch turned on. The dealership could not find a problem. The vehicle then ran for a period of time without additional issues. In April of 2022 the problem resurfaced. After trying for two days to start the vehicle, it started and I took it to a Chrysler dealership. The mechanic indicated the car needed a new starter. The starter was replaced on 4/20/2022. On 5/10/2022 the dealership inspected the vehicle and did an oil and filter change. No problems were found. On 5/13/2022 I was driving and the vehicle suddenly stopped in traffic and would not restart. Thankfully, a crash was avoided when the vehicle suddenly stopped in heavy traffic. The automatic windows and door locks still worked even though ignition would not engage. The vehicle had to be pushed out of traffic and was towed to a dealership. The mechanic listed the following: ASD Main sense circuit; Generator Field Control /circuit; Engine oil pressure sensor circuit low; Starter Control 2 Circuit Open-pulled vehicle in found starter was not engaging-tested both power feed lines. The repair quote was in the thousands of dollars. I have gotten rid of the car and I am purchasing another make of vehicle.

Wire connector under the passenger seat disables the airbag and turns on the SRS light with the code B0028-13 Right side Airbag circuit open. I have noticed that FCA is aware of the problem as the fix is to replace the wire Connectors under the seat. As an alignment mechanic I am in and out of a lot of vehicles and just about all of the 2015 to 2017 Chrysler 200s I have worked on have this code, some also have B0020-13 which is the left side seat air bag circuit open.

While vehicle is in driving mode it shuts off. I complained to East Hester chrysler 3 months ago and they were unable to diagnose the issue. It was doing it at least 3x a week, now it's happening daily and it has happen on the highway 2x which was a scary moment. I need some assistance, I notified Chrysler corporation and they reported the situation and refer me to a chrysler service center. I read that there has been a recall on my vehicle for the same situation (stalling while driving) I am having my vehiclencheck now at Central Ave Chrysler to see what they find. I hope the issue can be fixed and corrected and if there is a recall for this issue please help me. Thank you

I was driving to take my vehicle to the car dealer that I bought it from and started having problems with the car. As I was driving the car started smoking really bad, and soon as I pulled into the the car dealer lot the bottom of my car was in flames. I had to hurry put the car in park jump out and grab my daughter out the car. Every since my daughter has been having really bad coughing issues. I took my car to have it looked at and checked and the dealer let me know that it was nothing they can do that they would not switch me to another car. I feel it’s unsafe and unfair for my children as well as my self to continue having to drive in and pay for a car that has caught on fire. Every since I have been having unstoppable problems with the car, from a starting issue, air bag issue, engine issue and so many more problem.

The car says service transmission while driving and automatically shuts down while still in drive you can’t put the car into any other gear and actually have to shut the car off while still in drive . The car when restarted is stuck in park . Extremely dangerous situation when traffic is directly behind you and the car just stops . Car has been taken to the nearest repair shop and I’m waiting on inspection

Vehicle was at detail shop - parked. Employee moved seat to access back and drivers side head rest deployed. There was no collision. Unable to reset, as part is broken. Appears to be a major safety concern which could lead to an accident. I will be attempting to address this issue quickly as it represents a major safety problem. It is available for inspection for now. Had this happened while driving I believe an accident would have resulted. I will be contacting the dealer and an independent shop on Monday. At this time it has not been inspected by anyone official. No warning signs were noted.

Let me start by saying I was in love with my 200S but lately she been acting up. 1) I was driving on multiple occasions now when I’ll hear a chim sound(Warning light with nothing laminated on the dashboard) car loses all power and shuts off completely no matter where on the freeway and surface streets 2mins later car starts up. The latest incident came a week ago when I was pulling in a drive way car shut off completely while traffic was coming almost causing a major crash (Thank God Nobody didn’t get hurt) other motorists got out to help push it to safety. There’s been multiple occasions while driving the car starts shaking bad as if it’s going to stall check engine light comes on..I pull over scan for codes nothing pops up ,I then check connectors and fluids etc unscrewed the gas cap Redo it ,car starts up I drive home safely (No more stalling feeling or bad shaking) Mechanic run diagnostics No Error codes appear . 2) Airbags senor come on and off for no reason which scares the heck out of me to drive it not knowing if they’ll actually protect me or not if I need it too. It’s been almost 2 car payments since I drove it.Due to safety fears because I travel with Kids 3) it’s hard to pick up speed when trying to accelerate My car is now at 99K miles and I have been going through these issues probably since 73K miles

Ok this model has 8 recalls and I've only received one. My airbag indicator has been on for awhile now. See they have had recall for seat change. Which is my indicator picks up when i move my seat a certain way. My car drives be itsself in the acceleration. The intake is throwed. My radio just stopped working on its own FOR NO REASON. After that use to make this noise on its own even when car was off to try to come back on but it didn't. Electrical recall and whole middle console doesnt work. (Something sbout a usb update) Now my car goes dead over night and I have to jump it to start. Battery, starter and alternator is fine. This ridiculous at this point. Ive had 1recall resistly but have all these problems and see there is a total of 8. This things need fixing asap.

I’ve have been reporting this issue with the TIPM since April 15, 2022 when it stalled and cut off on me in traffic and the horn just started blaring. I have reported this to Mopar/Chrysler, nhtsa and the dealership in which I’ve purchased the vehicle. I was told to have the vehicle towed at my own expense and to pay for repairs. But when you’ve paid out so much already to have a diagnostics performed through 2 different independent shops in which they absolutely refuse to touch or Make repairs to the vehicle when these vehicles have the obvious problems. Not even Pep Boys will touch the vehicles. It’s a disgrace that no one seems to take this issue serious. Upon doing more research, I’ve found the others have complained about the issues. This is dangerous and could cause the vehicle to catch fire. And to think there has been no research or resolution for the issue is even more sickening. These vehicle should be recalled permanently and no dealership should be allowed to sale them. If an issue this dangerous will be overlooked. If you need further evidence. The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would hesitate for five to 10 seconds before accelerating. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the engine would start shaking as if it was loose from the motor mounts, causing the entire vehicle to shake. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact slowed down; however, the vehicle continued to shake. The failure had become more constant. The contact had not taken the vehicle to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.
