General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023â2026 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles equipped with a left-side radiator/fan combination. Excess fuel may spill into the vehicle fuel-filler pocket during refueling and leak onto an ignition source.
While operating my 2023 Chevrolet Corvette at approximately 75 mph on [XXX], the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly lost propulsion. Moments later, the vehicle completely shut down. The instrument display went dark and the vehicle's lights went out. This occurred in active highway traffic. I struggled to maintain control of the vehicle while avoiding surrounding vehicles and narrowly avoided a potentially catastrophic collision. I managed to bring the Corvette to rest on the shoulder. The vehicle was subsequently transported approximately 20 miles to an authorized Chevrolet dealership at my expense. The dealership retained the vehicle for approximately five months. During that period, I was not provided a courtesy or replacement vehicle. The dealership replaced the transmission under the manufacturer's warranty. The replacement transmission part number may differ from the original, but this requires confirmation from repair records. Although the transmission was replaced, I do not know whether the dealership separately diagnosed and corrected the cause of the complete electrical blackout. I am concerned that the loss of propulsion followed by a complete electrical blackout represents a serious safety defect that could result in a collision, serious injury, or death. I request that NHTSA investigate the failure, including the relationship between the transmission malfunction, loss of propulsion, and electrical shutdown. Vehicle is 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with about 33000 miles. On XXXI was driving about 65 mph on [XXX] in the left lane with my wife as passenger. On a slight left curve the front brakes applied hard on their own without my input. The car slowed very rapidly. A semi truck in the right lane had to take evasive action to avoid a collision. A similar event happened on XXX with only me in the car at about 45 mph. The front brakes applied on their own in a similar way. I also recall a possible similar event in November or XXX. I am not certain of that earliest date. Since then, it has happened several times more and confirmed by Chevrolet Dealership. Warning symptoms: The tire pressure monitoring system warning light has been on intermittently. The right front tire pressure does not display. The light was on before the March event and is on now. Dealer inspection: The dealer inspected the car on XXX and on later visits. A GM corporate field engineer also inspected the car. They stated they could not duplicate the concern and made no repair. I have since returned the vehicle to the dealership and it has been in their possession since XXX. The vehicle was taken out and confirmed the braking issue. Tech's reinspected the vehicle and cannot figure out the issue. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: Uncommanded hard braking at highway speed creates risk of being struck from behind and risk of loss of control. My windshield is defective. It is flaking and pieces are coming off of it. It’s a safety issue to me. It’s distracting my vision and it’s right in the vision where I look out the windshield. It’s not rock chips. It’s flaking. I’m getting pieces of glass in my wash rag so therefore I feel it’s a safety issue.

While driving normally, I was in the middle of a busy highway/intersection when the vehicle suddenly lost power and came to a complete stop. The vehicle shut itself off without warning, leaving the Corvette disabled in the roadway and causing a complete blockage of the road/intersection. Traffic was actively traveling around me, creating a serious safety hazard and putting both myself and other motorists at risk of a collision. After the vehicle stopped, it would not restart. The instrument cluster displayed a theft-deterrent/immobilizer warning and a lock/security symbol, along with a message stating that there could be a problem with the theft-deterrent system and referring to Immobilizer Operation. The vehicle has full electrical power, but when attempting to start it, it only clicks and the engine does not crank or start. I placed the key fob in the designated backup location as instructed in the owner’s manual, but the vehicle still would not start. The exact failed component has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed. The vehicle is available for inspection. The sudden and unexpected loss of power while I was in the middle of a busy highway/intersection caused an immediate and serious safety concern because the vehicle became completely disabled and blocked the roadway.

At 23000 miles the right rear wheel cracked. I have a 2023 Corvette stingray HTC with the 20" wheels. The option code for this original GM wheel is Q8Q, "20" rear carbon flash painted aluminum wheels with machined edge". This is a common problem and has been reported by many corvette owners on several corvette forums. I do not track my car and have new tires. GM again ignores this safety item. I had the problem on my C7 and again on my C8. I did complete the GM refund paperwork for my C7 cracked rear rims, however, GM never did any refunds or tried to correct this safety issue.
