POWER TRAIN
Place car in park, turn off car. On your screen in front of you it shows “shift to park” and the radio does not shut off. It continues to chime and the radio and chime does not shut off. Dealership states it is the shifter and the connector that is a problem. Shifter is on backorder for undetermined time.

All door locks wont activate both from door switches and key fob. Alarm is malfunction. Doors wont lock when moving. My car has been at the dealers for three weeks they have not been able to fix it.

The contact owns a 2022 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated that on several occasions when the vehicle was shifted into reverse, the vehicle failed to reverse as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle was shifted into neutral(N) and then shifted into drive (D). The vehicle was then parked at the residence. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,150.

The contact stated that while shifting to park(P) and attempting to turn off the vehicle, the message to shift to park(P) was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact removed the key from the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to turn off. The battery had to be disconnected to turn off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000.

Shift To Park displays in instrument panel when car is in Park. From my research this has been happening on GM cars since 2018, why is there no recall on this issue? People pay to get this replaced and then it happens again because GM has a "potential" fix, they are not even sure which part is causing the issue. Please help, I cannot afford to get this fixed and of course this happened right after the bumper-to-bumper warranty expired. Tech not sure if it would be covered under the Power train warranty, but mostly likely not since GM really does not know what part is causing the issue, so I'm sure they will say its anything but the Powertrain! NHTSA should be protecting consumers, this is a very old issue, and GM is still selling vehicles with this issue! Force them to do a recall, it's only fair to the consumers.

This lasted about an hour. There is an open recall on this exact issue, but my VIN isn't included in the recall.

We bought our Buick Encore in April 2024 and not even a month after we had it the screen went completely blank while I was driving down the road and I couldn’t see my speedometer to see how fast I was going or anything, so I took it to the dealership and they did a system update to supposedly solve the problem. Now, not even four months later I had to take the vehicle back because the control screen that has the mapping system, the phone, Pandora etc. goes out on and off which is a huge hazard if you’re on the interstate in an unknown area and the map goes blank or you’re driving in a hands free state and the phone goes off and you have to fiddle with your phone to switch the caller over to the speaker on your cell phone. I was at the dealer for four hours today and they acknowledged the Buick Encore has a well known Bluetooth connection issue and they said there was nothing they could do but a hard reset on the system. They did that after I’d been there four hours and ten minutes after I left the dealer the system disconnected from my phone again while I was on the interstate going 70+ mph. The sealer also said there was nothing more they could do until Buick came out with a recall on the system. My car is brand spanking new and I shouldn’t have these type of problems out of the vehicle already.

SERVICE BRAKES
The contact owns a 2021 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the brake pedal was lightly depressed and the vehicle unintentionally came to an instant stop; the vehicle then began to shudder. The contact's mom was seated in the front passenger side of the vehicle and sustained a neck injury after the failure occurred. There was no one injured that was not in the vehicle. No medical attention was required. The vehicle was drivable and was driven to a dealer who did not provide a diagnosis but informed the contact that, the failure may have been occurring due to the Vacuum Module in the braking system needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure still occurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

Have had my car in the shop multiple time to be put on computer. It states under boost in the turbo. This car is barley 3 years old . And when the check engine light comes on the car goes into limp mode. This is just crazy . I've read more and more people complaining about this but buick doesn't want to do anything about it

The contact owns a 2021 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that occasionally the vehicle jerked with the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the speed odometer showed a different speed that the digital speed odometer reading. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed turbo charger. The contact was informed that the turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer twice for the same failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was scheduled for diagnostic testing. WHEELS, WHEELS:HUBCAP/COVER
Within first couple months of ownership we had a wheel insert come off. We had it replaced at dealer Dec 2022 and noted it was two small bolts holding on the insert to actual wheel. The screws (2) appeared to have sheared off and are in line with brake rotors, calipers, and wheel itself when dislodging. The actual insert goes forward and can hit other cars and damage finish and other items as a projectile. We then had another do the same thing on different wheel 12 months later. Same issue. Same resolve as metal screws/bolts go directly into plastic insert which has no metal lining and no protection against breaking from stress, cleaning, and high speed turbulence thru this area. Less than a year later and we now have one missing insert that came off during highway, one loose we removed and found one bolt missing and sheered plastic, and a third one that is loose. Dealer will repair and replace under warranty but would not put on lift and check all inserts. There are approx 5 inserts per 18 inch wheel. This is a safety issue as the bolt will come out of fall into the wheel brake system. It could get lodged into calipers or pads and cause harm at least. These screw bolts are small but larger than anything nominal.

The contact owns a 2024 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated that upon shifting the vehicle into drive, the vehicle failed to move, prompting the contact to turn off the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to immediately restart. After several attempts, the vehicle was able to start. Later, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle briefly began to decelerate independently before returning to normal functionality. The contact also stated that previously, while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel went blank, failing to display any information. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,200. Engine Yes my safety and others were at risk. I was driving and the car power down and two lights came on engine light and engine service came on and then service ECM message yes i got the engine light the first few months into my lease and i took back to the dealership that purchase and they promised they would fix the issue and now i got the engine like again. I don't feel safe in this car. i got the car serviced at the dealership in 02/14/2024 and they did not say thing was wrong with the car.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I bought my car, new, on 10/1/ 2023. The middle of November i noticed the headlights randomly dimming. On 12/3/23 I to the dealership to have them looked at. I was told there was nothing wrong but make an appt. they had my car 3 times in less than 2 months. I repeatedly told them my headlights were dimming and or going off. On Jan 13 after taking my daughter to the airport my headlights went off as i was merging on to hiway at 6:30vam. at that point i filed a complaint with GM.. They won't do anything because the dealer said the lights function'. I have not driven my car after dark Jan 113. I am terrified that it will happen again. I keep having more things go wrong. display, collision, lane assist. i have picture of some of the incidents. I HAVE ALL LOT OF DOCUMETATI0N AND PICTURES HOWEVER I GET MESSAGES THE FILES ARE TO BIG EVEN WITH A FILE WITH 6 PIECES OF PAPER.

The contact owns a 2024 Buick Encore GX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V744000 (Electrical System), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair was performed; however, while driving 30 MPH, the instrument cluster display and the infotainment system screen display turned black. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that she was able to drive to the nearby residence. The contact stated that upon arriving to the residence, she turned off and restarted the vehicle several times, and the infotainment screen display became operable. The contact stated that she went to the vehicle settings on the infotainment system and selected Update twice, but the instrument cluster display remained black. The contact stated that she then selected Previous Updates and turned off the vehicle for an hour. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle, the instrument cluster and the infotainment system were operable. The dealer was notified of the failure through a voicemail message. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,714.
