Legal Compliance & Safety Hazard Remedy - VIN: [XXX] Alfa Romeo's response frames towing as a "warranty coverage" issue. This is factually incorrect and legally irrelevant. This is not a warranty claim; this is a federally mandated National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) safety campaign involving a severe vehicle fire and engine stalling hazard. Under federal law (49 U.S.C. § 30120), manufacturers are legally required to provide a remedy for safety recalls that is reasonably accessible to the consumer, free of charge. Alfa Remeo has failed to provide that access: Complete Infrastructure Failure in [XXX]: My nearest in-state authorized dealer, Dennis Dillon Fiat in [XXX], has formally refused to perform this safety recall because they do not have an Alfa-certified technician on staff. Extreme Geographical Hardship: Because Alfa Romeo's only in-state service center lacks the technical capability to fulfill your safety mandate, the nearest operational dealership is now roughly 9.5 hours away. Severe Safety Liability: Alfa Romeo is demanding that I personally operate or coordinate the transport of a vehicle with an active, un-remedied fuel system fire/stalling hazard across nearly 10 hours of public highway. Doing so places severe liability on me and a catastrophic safety risk on the public—a risk caused entirely by a manufacturing defect and your broken dealer network. Because Stellantis cannot provide a qualified technician within a reasonable or safe distance from ZIP code [XXX], they are failing to provide a functionally accessible recall remedy. I am requesting that Alfa Romeo authorize one of the following logistical accommodations: Option A: Stellantis covers the full cost of a commercial auto-carrier to transport the vehicle from [XXX] to your closest functional facility and return it upon completion. Option B: Stellantis issues a formal franchise waiver to allow my local local Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram (CDJR) in [XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA

For over 12 months since October 2025, the vehicle has intermittently (and progressively more regularly) thrown multiple, concurrent dash warnings/error messages for multiple vehicle functions, followed typically by (and without driver input) shifting the vehicle automatically into Neutral or Park while on and in gear. On multiple occasions, this action has nearly caused car accidents -- for example, the car shifted into Park from a stop during a left turn into oncoming traffic. On several occasions, the vehicle has become unresponsive to the start/stop ignition button for several minutes while dash electronics remained powered -- meaning after the transmission shifted into Neutral or Park, the car was stationary in traffic and nonresponsive. The vehicle has been taken in (towed or driven) three times between August 19 and October 10 to the same certified Alfa Romeo dealership and service center. This service center has been unable to correctly diagnose or resolve the issue.

- #11768539October 2, 2026ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, STEERING
The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The vehicle was purchased and the contact was notified of an EPS failure. While driving 70 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated and the messages "Service Engine", "Service Throttle Body", and "Alfa Steering Torque" were displayed. The contact detected a burning coolant odor while outside the vehicle. The following day, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 20–30 MPH with the RPM at high, and the coolant level fluctuating. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle but was unable to open the hood due to a fractured hood latch. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where DTC: P0299, P00B7, C0051-86, U1702-86, and C0076-68 were retrieved. The failure mileage was 110,351.

My 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio has a safety recall, due to a faulty fuel pump. I have attempted to work with the Alfa Romeo customer support team to try and have my vehicle fixed, but they have not been able to make practical arrangements to have the vehicle serviced. I live in [XXX]. Initially, I was informed that although there were no local Alfa Romeo dealerships in [XXX], there were some partner Jeep Chrysler Dodge dealerships that could handle the repair. However, I was then informed that these dealerships were no longer being compensated from Alfa Romeo, so I would actually need to work with an actual Alfa Romeo dealership. The closest dealership is in [XXX], which is over 400 miles away. I was then told that Alfa Romeo would arrange towing my car to and from the dealership in [XXX]. The parts were ordered and after a few weeks, the parts are now available. However, in the meantime, Alfa Romeo has again changed their policy to provide towing services. I have been informed that they will make an exception and tow my vehicle to the dealership, but then I would be responsible to arrange to pick up the vehicle from the dealership. This would require me to either drive a rental vehicle or purchase a plane ticket at my expense, in order to obtain the vehicle. Alfa Romeo has issued the safety recall, but is not providing a timely or effective option of actually taking care of the repairs without requiring a significant cost to the consumer. I had my vehicle towed to alpha dealership in Kansas City as that is the closest one now to me. Per the recall notice. There was no issue with car being towed down but Alfa Romeo will not tow it back home to my house In [XXX] where it was picked up. They said new rule of 150 miles. However the car is under warranty and it was a recall as well. They said that they determined that it’s a Courtesy to tow car down but not a guarantee be towed back. I said but car is under warranty and it also was a recall. They said I would need to make arrangements to get my car back home. I said wonder if I was broken down in the middle of nowhere. You wouldn’t tow my car to a dealership for warranty work or if you did it wouldn’t be guaranteed that it would be towed back to you. She stated correct. I was not very happy and extremely upset. I said wants the point of a warranty or even an extended warranty. No answer and no help was she . Her name was Jessica and supposedly a team leader for customer care. She said it was denied tow back because it wasn’t a necessary repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am reporting an authorized manufacturer franchise dealer for actively refusing to remedy a federal safety recall and unlawfully withholding my vehicle. My vehicle is a 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio (VIN: [Insert VIN]), which is subject to the active Fuel Pump Safety Recall (NHTSA Campaign 25V586000 / Manufacturer Recall Code 93C). The vehicle has been physically located at Southern Alfa Romeo of Norfolk ([XXX]) for approximately 18 months. The dealership service management has explicitly stated that they will not perform the mandatory safety recall remedy, nor will they release my vehicle to a flatbed towing company, until an unrelated $5,000 civil dispute involving a loaner car is paid out of pocket. By conditioning a federal safety mandate and the physical custody of my vehicle on a separate civil debt, this dealership is violating the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. Chapter 301). The 1.5-year delay also completely violates the federal requirement to provide a safety remedy within a reasonable timeframe. I request federal intervention to force compliance. I'm driving and all of a sudden - while I'm on the highway - a service engine pops up on the dashboard, and my car looses all power and drive ability. I immediately loose any gas/drive ability to accelerate or maintain legal speeds. I read about the recent recall with the fuel system and it's exactly what my car is experiencing, but somehow my VIN is both telling me that my car has a recall at one place, and then doesn't have a recall at another. It's confusing and I"m not sure what the database issue is because my car is experiencing the same exact feul system problem is that I"m reading on line for recall of my car's year.

1. COMPONENT FAILED & INSPECTION: The transmission ground strap (uninsulated, bare braided copper cable) completely corroded/severed from environmental decay. This open ground circuit forced high engine-cranking currents into secondary low-voltage paths, causing an extreme thermal surge that melted and shorted out the main engine compartment wiring harness. Both failed components are preserved by the owner and are available for forensic inspection upon request. 2. SAFETY RISK: This manufacturing flaw causes a severe thermal fire hazard and an instantaneous, catastrophic loss of all vehicle propulsion, power steering, braking assist, and lighting systems while operating on public roadways. This abrupt deactivation threatens occupant safety and surrounding traffic by risking high-speed highway collisions or engine bay fires without warning. 3. CONFIRMATION: The exact failure cascade was formally diagnosed, itemized, and verified by Maranello Alfa Romeo of [XXX] ([XXX]) under a repair estimate of $7,203.10. 4. INSPECTIONS: Formally inspected by factory-certified technicians at the local authorized dealership center. No insurance, police, or outside authority investigations have occurred yet, as the car was towed immediately to avoid an active open highway fire. 5. SYMPTOMS & WARNINGS: There were absolutely no warning lamps, messages, check engine lights, or symptoms prior to the incident. Failure occurred instantly on XXX. The vulnerability was hidden from plain sight until the primary ground pathway severed completely during engine startup. 6. MANUFACTURER KNOWLEDGE: Alfa Romeo engineering has recognized this danger on 2017-early 2023 models, releasing a redesigned, fully sheathed/insulated ground cable (Part No. 68648999AA) to prevent this environmental decay. The consumer was never proactively notified of this critical safety vulnerability INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
