the vehicle shut down while at a red light and went the transmission went into neutral and should not start until i place the vehicle into park and then i had to press the start button two or three times to get the vehicle to start again. this is the second time this same problem has occurred in a two week span

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Cruise control does not hold speed during transition from downhill coast to uphill acceleration. If set at 70mph on an interstate and car goes down a hill, coasting may slow to 68. When uphill is immediately encountered, speed drops to 64-65mph before finally accelerating to 70. Many trucks get very close and some honk because of the slowdown. Some road rage has been received. Also, throttle lags 0.5-1.0 seconds when transitioning from complete stop. Rear end collision has almost occurred when other drivers proceed to move forward and this car doesn’t move.

ENGINE
After traveling about on a 4 hour drive, my daughter who was driving the vehicle slowed down to make a turn. That's when she heard a loud clanking noise coming from the engine. She immediately pulled over and turned off the engine/vehicle. I went to meet her, and replicated the same problem when I turned the ignition switch to to on. It sounded as if there was some large piece of metal loose inside the engine -- it did not have consistency and was highly variable with regards to the sound it was making. The "Check Engine" light was on. Fortunately this did not occurr going at high/freeway speeds, yet the safety was compromised when my daughter was fortunate enough to leverage the momentum to get to the side of the road. Additionally, she was not in a spot where there was a shoulder/it was under an overpass, so she had to be careful and turned on her emergency lights. We had the vehicle towed to the nearby Honda Dealer. I am attaching their report and findings. They recommended engine be replaced; which we agreed to have done. Additionally, we continue to have problems due to the mounting and shacking which we believe comes from the installment of the new engine. We are submitting that report as well. At present, my daughter is not driving the vehicle and is relying on rides or borrowing other people's vehicles.

ENGINE
Persistent Idle Start issue not being addressed by the Acura dealership despite multiple trips to the dealership with the same issue. My SUV intermittently shuts down in the middle of busy intersections leaving me at great risk for a crash and bodily harm. There is a Service Bulletin issued in January 2023 by Acura admitting to the issue and it shows how Acura will resolve the issue for affected vehicles. Unfortunately Acura is not following their own Service Bulletin, and a recall of these vehicles needs to be issued to address the affected vehicles. I am requesting the NHTSA to take immediate action and issue a recall for this known idle start issue that is putting many Acura drivers at increased risk for bodily harm.

upon turning right, the car lost power, degraded acceleration as if someone is holding and pulling the car to move forward. The traffic behind me expected me to cathup with the speed on the road but due to loss of power and engine hesitation i got honked and was luck to avoid a crash from behind on a busy road. Acura dealership in Dallas dont have parts since a very long time. They have pleant of new cars to sell but not repair.

This is in reference to Acura Service Bulletin 14-032, Rear Side Body Plug is missing. Both my right and left side body plugs were missing, causing myself and family to experience symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning for at least a year. I had the exhaust system checked by Acura and and independent garage and they found no issues. I would not have know about the cause if I had not found it in a chat thread in an Acura online community. All owners need to be notified. THIS SHOULD BE A MANDATORY SAFETY RECALL for Acura MDX for 2010-2013.

[XXX] 7 pm. As I was on the highway, warning lights came on the dashboard, “failing transmission, emission failure, and side mirrors failure.” I soon lost a lot of power. I purchased this 2016 Acura MDX in 2019 at Acura of Concord as a Pre-owned Certified with 20k miles. At the time of the transmission failure I had put an additional 17k miles. Total cost for a new transmission was nearly $8000. This does not seem fair to have to replace a transmission with so little miles. It seems as though this vehicle is a lemon. Approximately 3 weeks later, as I coming up the driveway, I noticed a huge chip of paint missing in front of the sunroof area. Now this appears Exactly as the recall or extended warranty demonstrates for 2014-2016 MDX White Diamond Pearl NH-603P. Honda claims this “VIN Does not qualify” for this extended warranty. Even the service manager at Acura of Concord exclaimed, ”How they explain to me that this vehicle does not qualify when it is the same year model, same paint, and that the paint chipped off Exactly the same way as described in the extended warranty recall.” In other words, Honda is forcing me to reach out to you because this VIN is not on the list and they do not wish to acknowledge that they are at fault. I do not feel that it right that I paid $8000 for a new transmission, and now I will have to pay $5303.70 to repair the paint on the roof. Please help me in this matter. Dashboard lights are flickering and the headlights are intermittently turning on when the engine is off. This is a commonly reported failure and defect in the the Keyless Access Control Unit with Honda Ridgeline, Odyssey, and Pilot and Acura MDX and RDX models with keyless start. However, Honda would not recall the defect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
There is a paracytic battery drain causing new batteries to fail. Troubleshooting says Hands Free Link system may be reason for drain/ dead battery. Or, the Navigation system. There are endless electrical issues within 5 fuse boxes. I’ve done this manually, it’s slow. I know a diagnostic meter would help! So, I’ve installed a battery switch inside car. Must turn off each night! You’d think I’d have a mobile battery charger by now. But thankfully road side service has been a life saver. Although, I was not permitted to sign up for ERS with my insurance after so many battery calls for a year or more. AAA same! It’s ridiculous. Today, had to call ERS again. Ugh. Fortunately I’ve been reinstated. Its been slow-like-molasses-paced.. One fuse disconnected after another. This leaves the vehicle operating without the necessary compenents, helpful features. Examples: x miles per gallon of gas driving city/freeway. . The stereo system completely out, no back up camera, and no Navigation system. All disconnected fuses. No, I don’t have the resources to buy a diagnostic or pay a mechanic $200-300. I’ve been dealing with this nightmare for the last year++. Thankfully, YouTube shows 2006 Acura MDX, Touring series w this drain problem. A huge help! It’s an older car with 240K miles, needs 4 new tires, alignment, both headlamps replaced, . Plus, somehow the rear view mirror got unhooked, torn off, consequently, I’m without the rear back up view. It’s stupid, I realize. Looking at it in hind sight, yes, it’s ridiculous!

I stopped at a stop sign and the car went into N without me changing anything. The car wouldnt go back to D or P mode even when I pressed the buttons. I had to turn off the car and turn it on again to make it function properlty. This happened twice within 5 mins.
