Honda concluded its 2026 TCR racing season by securing second place in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Manufacturers' Championship. This achievement followed the FOX Factory 120 season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, where the #93 MMG Honda Civic Type R TCR team also finished third in both the Drivers' and Teams' championships.
Strong Season Performance for Honda TCR
Throughout the 2026 season, Honda demonstrated consistent performance in the TCR category. The manufacturer secured seven pole positions, including a front-row lockout at the Road Atlanta finale. This strong qualifying record contributed significantly to Honda's overall standing in the Manufacturers' Championship.
The #93 MMG Honda Civic Type R TCR, driven by Karl Wittmer and LP Montour, was a key contender throughout the season. Their consistent results led to a third-place finish in both the TCR Drivers' and Teams' championships, accumulating 2,620 points.
Road Atlanta Season Finale Overview
The FOX Factory 120 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta marked the final race of the 2026 season. Karl Wittmer, piloting the #93 Honda, set a new TCR track record during qualifying, securing pole position. The #5 TMR Honda of Rocco Pasquarella qualified second, giving Honda a second consecutive front-row lockout at the event.
During the race, MMG initially led the field, with TMR maintaining a strong third position. A caution period with 70 minutes remaining shifted the race strategy, turning it into a fuel-management challenge. Despite strategic pit stops, MMG lost some positions, and TMR advanced to second.
Late in the race, the #5 TMR Honda was forced to pit due to a puncture with only seven minutes remaining, ending its podium hopes. The #72 Pegram Racing entry also made a late fuel stop. With just two laps left, the #93 MMG car was involved in contact with a GS-class competitor, abruptly ending its run just before the white flag.
Final Championship Standings and Race Results
Honda ultimately secured second place in the Manufacturers' Championship with a total of 3,140 points. The MMG team's third-place finish in the Drivers' and Teams' championships highlights their competitive season.
In the FOX Factory 120 race at Road Atlanta, the Honda teams recorded the following finishes:
- 6th place: #72 Pegram Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR (Riley Pegram, Larry Pegram)
- 8th place: #8 HART Honda Civic Type R TCR (Chad Gilsinger, Tyler Chambers)
