Audi has officially introduced the Q9, its largest sport utility vehicle to date, expanding the top end of its model portfolio. This new flagship model, the first to carry the '9' designation, combines extensive interior space with advanced technological features and refined dynamics. The Audi Q9 is set to become available for order in Germany by the end of July 2026, with deliveries anticipated to begin in the fourth quarter of the same year. Pricing for the Q9 TDI 220 kW starts at 108,400 euros.

Advanced Technology and Design

The Audi Q9 incorporates several innovative features, including third-generation curved digital OLED rear lights, which are described as a world first. These lights utilize ultra-thin, three-dimensionally curved glass panels, enhancing both design possibilities and visibility. Another safety innovation is the advanced turn signals, which project a stylized turn signal onto the ground at night, synchronizing with the dynamic signals at the front and rear. Digital Matrix LED headlights also provide precise illumination and expanded light guidance functions.

The interior of the Audi Q9 focuses on maximizing space and comfort. It offers seating for seven passengers as standard, with all three second-row seats featuring child seat mounting points. An optional six-seat configuration provides individual electric seats in the second row, which are power-adjustable and can include a heating function. For the first time in an Audi, automatic doors are available, featuring obstacle detection and a soft-close mechanism. The Q9 also includes the largest panoramic sunroof ever fitted to an Audi, measuring over 1.5 square meters, with optional switchable transparency and illumination.

Powertrain and Performance

At launch, the Audi Q9 will be available with a three-liter V6 diesel engine producing 220 kW (299 PS) and 630 Nm of torque. A variant with 180 kW (245 PS) and 500 Nm will also be offered in selected European markets. Both engines feature MHEV plus technology, which includes an electric-powered compressor for improved throttle response and a powertrain generator that can provide up to 18 kW (24 PS) of additional power. This setup aims to deliver efficient driving and strong acceleration.

Power is delivered through an eight-speed tiptronic transmission to Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, ensuring performance across various surfaces. The Q9's combined fuel consumption is rated between 8.0–7.4 l/100 km (29.4-31.8 US mpg), with CO2 emissions ranging from 209–194 g/km (336.4-312.2 g/mi). The vehicle's substantial dimensions, measuring 5.31 meters long, 2.21 meters wide, and 1.81 meters tall, with a wheelbase of 3.14 meters, underscore its presence as Audi's largest SUV.

Luxurious Interior and Connectivity

The interior of the Audi Q9 is designed with premium materials, including various upholstery options such as wool, alpaca fiber, Dinamica microfiber, and Nappa leather, alongside new decorative accents and color schemes. Standard sports seats are complemented by optional features like ventilation and massage functions for the front seats. The cabin's ambiance is further enhanced by extensive ambient and contour lighting, including a dynamic interaction light (IAL) that spans the width of the interior and supports interaction between occupants and the vehicle.

For audio, the Q9 offers an updated Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 4D sound, featuring 22 speakers and a total output of 1,360 watts. This system includes seat actuators in the front seats to generate vibrations synchronized with music, aiming to create an immersive audio experience. The Audi Q9 SUV 2026 also integrates an adaptive driving assistant plus with hands-free driving capabilities, contributing to its comprehensive technological suite.

The Audi Q9 represents a significant expansion of the brand's luxury vehicle offerings, focusing on a blend of spaciousness, advanced driver assistance systems, and a high-quality in-car experience for its customers.
