Hyundai is extending the warranty coverage for the horn replacement due to this condition. The extended warranty is for 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, calculated from the date of original retail delivery or first use. This coverage applies to both original and subsequent owners.

It is important to note that any vehicles under 10 years/120,000 miles are covered by this TSB, even if the vehicle is still within the original manufacturer's warranty of 5 years/60,000 miles.

Repair Procedure Summary

To resolve the inoperable horn issue, technicians will perform the following steps:

1. Front Bumper Removal: The front bumper assembly must be removed to access the horn components. This involves following the detailed procedures in the shop manual under "Body (Interior and Exterior) > Front Bumper > Front Bumper Assembly > Repair procedures."
2. Digital Documentation: Before replacement, technicians are required to take repair justification photos. These photos must show the original horn in its horizontal position, along with the last 6 digits of the vehicle's VIN and the repair date on a piece of paper. These images are then uploaded to the STUI system.
3. Horn Replacement: Both the high-pitch and low-pitch horn assemblies will be replaced with updated parts. A critical step during installation is to ensure the new horns are mounted vertically with the bell holes facing downward. This specific orientation helps prevent water intrusion, which can lead to future issues.
4. Bumper Reinstallation: After the new horns are securely installed, the front bumper cover is reinstalled, following the shop manual procedures.

The TSB specifies new horn assembly part numbers for replacement. The exact part numbers depend on the vehicle model and whether the original horn was low or high pitch. Here are the new part numbers:

• Low Pitch Horn Assembly: 96611-AA900QQH, 96621-AA900QQH (includes extension wiring)
• High Pitch Horn Assembly: 96611-AA700QQH, 96621-AA700QQH (no extension wiring)
• High Pitch Horn Assembly (Elantra N-Line/Elantra N): 96611-AA800QQH, 96621-AA800QQH (no extension wiring)

Warranty Information

If your 2021-2025 Hyundai Elantra falls within the extended warranty period of 10 years or 120,000 miles, the horn assembly replacement should be submitted as a campaign claim type. Dealers are instructed to document the warrantable defect with photos, including VIN and mileage. It is important for owners to understand that the incident parts are subject to callback, and claims may be debited if the part is not returned by the dealership.
