2022-2023 Honda Civic EPB Harness DTCs C1110-13 C1100-94

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) is currently investigating a condition affecting certain 2022-2023 Honda Civic models. This investigation focuses on vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission that exhibit specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) related to the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) harness.

The primary goal of this initiative is to collect actual vehicle parts to gain a better understanding of the root cause of the Honda Civic EPB harness issue. Owners of qualifying vehicles are requested to report their cars to Honda's Technical Information & Support (TIS) team before any repair attempts are made.

Symptoms

Owners of affected 2022-2023 Honda Civic vehicles may experience several symptoms indicating a potential issue with the EPB harness. The most direct indicators are specific DTCs stored in the vehicle's system.

These DTCs include:

• C1110-13: "Left-Rear Electric Parking Brake Actuator Circuit Open"
• C1100-94: "Electric Parking Brake Actuator Malfunction"

In addition to these codes, drivers might also notice intermittent or persistent "warning lights on the MID" (Multi-Information Display). These warnings can relate to "brake system problems," "LKAS lights" (Lane Keeping Assist System), and "ACC lights" (Adaptive Cruise Control).

Important Warnings

Honda has issued specific guidelines for this investigation, and it is crucial for owners and technicians to adhere to them. This is a parts collection effort, not a standard repair bulletin.

• Do not attempt any repair or disassembly: Honda explicitly requests that no repairs or disassembling of the harness and motor be attempted for this issue during the current visit. Any such action may disqualify the vehicle from the collection program.
• Ineligible Trims: Honda is NOT accepting FHEV, Si, or Type R trims for this investigation.
• Previous Repairs: Vehicles that have had previous left rear brake assembly, left motor, or knuckle assembly replacements are NOT accepted.
• Collision History: Vehicles that have been involved in a collision are NOT accepted for this program.

How to Qualify for Part Collection

To be eligible for Honda's part collection initiative regarding the Honda Civic EPB harness issue, your 2022-2023 Honda Civic must meet specific criteria:

• Your vehicle must be a 2022-2023 Honda Civic LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, or Touring trim.
• It must be equipped with an automatic transmission.
• Both DTCs C1110-13 and C1100-94 must be stored in the vehicle's system. An All-DTC Check printout is required.
• The vehicle must not have been involved in a collision.
• No repairs or disassembly of the harness and motor should have been attempted for this issue during the current visit.
• Previous replacements of the left rear brake assembly, left motor, or knuckle assembly are not accepted.
