The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the brake pedal was difficult to depress. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he continued to depress the brake pedal and upon reaching a hill, he used the parking brake to slow and park the vehicle on the side of the road. The contact stated he called a towing company but after four hours of waiting, his wife drove to the location and assisted by driving bumper to bumper to the local dealer at slow speeds. The local dealer diagnosed the vehicle and informed the contact that the brake vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V211000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 255,000. The Vin was invalid.

I received a recall remedy notice from Toyota (recall no. 20V-682) which says the subject vehicles are equipped witha low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating, which increases the risk of crash when a vehicle stall occurs while driving. I contacted local dealership but I was told that the parts are currently not in stock and needs to be ordered. After I followed up several times, the parts are still not available. My vehicle registration will be expired at the end of July 2021. Without the recall issue being addressed, I would not be able to pass the inspection and then not able to get sticker renewed. The vehicle has not been recently inspected and there were no warnings or noticeable symptom. In short, the dealer is unable to address the issue in a timely manner which makes my renewal of registration impossible.

My car has a mileage of about 178K and just recently got a "Check VSC System" which apparently affects brakes and also manages stability in case of hazardous road conditions. Across the internet, people also have reported the same issue and in some cases, people have had brakes locking up once this warning came up. Per a recall from Toyota, this is being fixed by the manufacturer only within a certain date and mileage and I dont fall into either of these criteria. The part itself is very expensive to afford right now...would be appreciative if the manufacturer can provide a way to fix this for a nominal cost or for free. my vehicle was part of the fuel pump recall for 2019 Camry, after taking it to my local dealer the fuel pump was replaced in January 2021. After driving the vehicle a week or so I noticed the exact same issues were happening again. Stalling at red lights, sluggish to take off and random jerking of the vehicle as if it were running out of gas. Took the vehicle back, dealership test drove it and told me this was characteristic of a Camry. I have owned two other Camrys in the past and have NEVER had an issue like this. PLEASE HELP.

I have a defective 'shiny' dashboard on my 2011 Toyota Camry. Apparently a recall was issued by Toyota but this was not an active campaign. The dash is so shiny that on bright days the reflection of the sun onto the front windshield is concerning. A friend recently told me about the recall but when I took the car to my local Toyota dealer I was told the recall campaign for my vehicle expired earlier in 2021. So, I want to lodge a complaint on the basis that while my Toyota dealer routinely sends me mail asking to buy back my 2011 Camry they never once told me about the recall. Clearly the dealer knows my address and many details about the vehicle I purchased from them but still they avoided telling me about my participation in the shiny dash recall.

Experiencing vehicle hesitation when accelerating to go around another vehicle or going through traffic coming from another way. Very uncomfortable producing anxiety in not knowing what may happen. This incident happens frequently and unable to give specific date as to when it first began. My wife is noticing it's occurrence more frequently.

I was diving my car on a 200 mile trip and I noticed that the driver side Sun Visor fell down and wouldn't stay up even when it was in its stowed position. During the day it progressive got worst. I now have to physically hold it in place so I can see while driving. I first thought my kid broke it, but that wasn't the case. Since I'm an engineer, I usually repair my car on my own. So I went looking on the internet for a replacement part and that is when I stumbled on the recall. My failure seemed to follow the same failure mode called out in the recall. However, my Visor didn't fail during the recall window. However, in my engineering opinion, this is a part the will fail at some point in the cars life and the manufacture should have done a recall and replace on every car manufactured during the years that used the same parts. Toyota no longer recognizes this as a problem. The more that the visor is used the more likely this failure will occur. Bottom line, it is a safety hazard that had a band aide approach to repairing it and should be revisited since more then likely it will occur on any vehicle that didn't experience the failure during the recall window.

Airbag on drivers side and passenger side is not working properly. Airbag warning lights are always on. Has also caused horn not to work as well. I can’t afford to get this checked out but I did receive a notice of recall about Acura airbags with similarities of what is going on with my Toyota.

- #11424405July 12, 2021ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
On July 11, 2021, my husband and I were driving to a location not far from our house, on a state road with a 45 mph speed limit, when "Check Hybrid System" and "Check VSC System" warnings began alternately appearing and I lost acceleration. I turned on my hazard lights and was eventually able to pull off on the side of the road. I turned off all power then restarted, at which point the engine resumed working and we were able to continue driving, but the "Check Hybrid System" and engine light warnings remained on. We were able to reset the computer system by disconnecting the negative terminal of the auxiliary battery (which had been replaced a few months ago) for ten minutes, but I travel over 700 miles at least monthly to take care of my elderly blind father, and I don't want this to happen while I'm driving on I-95, when it's much more likely to result in a serious accident or fatality.

Clicking noise in steering (damper for caused by a small plastic part which is defectively designed, and disintegrates). This is a very common defect in 2011-2017 Toyota Camrys. The part is only about $5, but labor is $750 because the whole steering assembly has to be taken apart. My Camry started making the rattling noise when it had 40,000 miles. The noise is getting progressively worse and may cause steering issues eventually. I have not had it fixed yet. See part # below, and see youtube videos on the issue, which is very common. Steering. Damper. Column. Part Number: 4525428040 A component that isolates the Steering Column from another component or it's mounting surface. JAPAN BUILT. MANUAL TILT. Part cannot be reused/reinstalled. Part included in column assembly. POWER TILT. US BUILT. Bushing. ELECTRIC POWER. Insulator. Computer. Motor. Windshield wiper maximum speed is approximately HALF that of most other makes and models. In any adverse rain or snow conditions it is immediately noticeable how slow and inadequate the speed of the wipers are. In most cases you are forced to reduce speed to below average speed of vehicles around you, creating a hazard, or are forced to completely stop all together.

Toyota Camry 2007 has a sticky or melting dashboard issue and is impacting visibility when driving in sun. The dashboard shines and reflects on the windshield and impairs visibility. Toyota says their extended warranty to fix this issue is over however the vehicle has been serviced at dealerships multiple times and never was the recall / safety issue was reported to me. I would appreciate if someone can contact Toyota and ask them to fix the issue for vehicles that are still on the roads especially in the south where is blazing hot.

While driving into the sun, the sun reflects off the dash causing you to not be able to see out the windshield. The dash has a tacky feel to it and is extremely shiny and any light that comes in trough the windshield reflect back at the windshield causing you to not be able to see what is in front of you. No warning of this issue with the vehicle. I have tried cleaning the dash with special cleaners to remove the shimmer however no resolution. The only resolution I have heard of is to have the dash completely replaced with the aftermarket dash that is made out of a different component.
