- #11757479August 17, 2026AIR BAGS
The dashboard has a clear outline of the passenger side airbag and the seam is ripping which is the structural/interior area. I took it to Porsche on June 24, 2026 and they are replacing the dashboard as of today August 17, 2026 they are telling me the dashboard will be here September 28, 2026. They are also claiming this isn't a safety issue. When it clearly is. This appears to the same issue as the 2022–2023 Porsche 911 dashboard/airbag recall (NHTSA campaign ANB7) involving the exact same core issue: the adhesive bonding between the leather dashboard cover and the passenger airbag lid/chute. I have told them I am not taking the car back until the new dashboard arrives as I do not feel safe. They don't seem happy about that response.

I drive a leased 2024 Porsche Macan that has been serviced exclusively by Porsche of [XXX]. In May 2026, I brought the vehicle in because the engine was revving/racing while I was driving locally at slow to normal speeds. I also reported that the vehicle initiated sudden collision-avoidance braking when no vehicles or obstacles were present. I was told no problem could be found or replicated. On the morning of XXX while driving about 25–30 mph, the engine again began revving loudly and continued even while I was stopped at a traffic light. This was the same issue I had reported in May. At the next light, I shifted into Park and then back into Drive; the revving temporarily subsided. I stopped briefly at a drive-through pharmacy and then drove directly home. As I pulled into my driveway with my foot on the brake, the vehicle suddenly accelerated sharply on its own and struck my home, causing significant damage to the house and vehicle. Smoke came from the front of the vehicle. Because I live in an attached home and my neighbors were inside, I attempted to back the vehicle a few feet away. With my foot on the brake, I shifted into Reverse, and the vehicle again accelerated sharply, traveling backward at high speed into the street. I steered away from a parked car and a brick wall, pulled the emergency brake, and shut off the vehicle. I exited and called 911. Police arrived within minutes, photographed the scene, and arranged for the vehicle to be towed because it was blocking the street. This vehicle has had unexplained problems repeatedly, yet I was told they could not be replicated. No one was physically injured, but this incident could easily have killed or seriously injured me, a pedestrian, another driver, or a child. I live next to a park and school. I believe this vehicle presents a serious safety risk and should not be returned to service without a complete investigation. I was driving at a low speed, less than 30 mph, and was approaching a curve in the road. I attempted to slow down by pressing the brake pedal, but the vehicle did not decelerate. Instead, it seemed to accelerate. I panicked and repeatedly pressed the brake pedal several more times, but the vehicle remained out of control. The vehicle left the roadway, went down a steep slope, struck bushes and tree branches, and eventually came to a stop. All four airbags deployed, and I observed smoke that appeared to be associated with the airbag deployment. The front ,side, underside and lower portion of the vehicle sustained impact damage. At no time before the accident did I observe any warning lights or messages indicating a problem with the braking system or any other vehicle system. Based on my experience during the incident, I believe the vehicle experienced a brake malfunction, as the brakes did not respond when I attempted to slow or stop the vehicle.

Yesterday, I viewed photos of a Macan EV that was significantly damaged when the hood flew open while the vehicle was in motion. This caused me to investigate the safety of my vehicle. I have found that there is no secondary "mechanical only" safety latch on the hood of this newly designed car. This means a single button push on the key fob, or inside the vehicle's control panel will rapidly eject the frunk open, with no human physical intervention with a safety latch. While a car's software is programmed to prohibit hood opening while the car is in motion, a software glitch/fail could still cause unplanned opening. As I understand CFR 571.113--Standard 113 Hood Latch Systems, the lack of a "mechanical only" secondary latch requiring human intervention to open--is not consistent with the intent of Section 113.

Water intrusion into the rear of the vehicle flooded due to a manufacturers defect. this area houses the battery and other electrical wiring. The water created a potential electrocution and short of much of the wiring, but the rust contaminated the air quality in the vehicle. Evidence of this corrosion shows persistence for more than a couple of years and the car was inspected twice by the dealer over this time, the most recent a year ago. Since then, I have been diagnosed with several respiratory ailment s along with a lymphoma diagnosis. the cost of the repairs is $7500 and I appealed to the dealer who is repairing the car, the dealer where I purchased the car and Porsche USA corp. all passed on helping me pay for the repairs. there was a lawsuit settlement in 2025 for this very same issue where they exended the warranties for two more years. However, I never received notice to participate in the law suit.

While driving on a major highway ([XXX]) at over 60 MPH, we had a complete and catastrophic system wide shut down of our vehicle, culminating in our car grinding to a halt. This entire process elapsed over a 15-20 second period. We barely were able to get our vehicle to the "left" shoulder along the median of the highway where we had to sit for over 75 minutes with oncoming traffic racing past us until 911 arrived to tow us. It was a life-threatening situation where we were virtual "sitting ducks" without any means to remove ourselves from harms way. The car was immovable and unresponsive. We tried to restart the car with the assistance of our Porsche Dealer but nothing worked. We had no choice but to pray for our safety. We have completely documented our experience: photos, videos and phone calls with 911. NOTE: your system is not allowing us to upload any of our photos or videos but we would like to provide these to you directly so please reach out to me to let me know how we can share these with you. When the car malfunctioned, it seemed that every alert in the car's computer system flashed in serial fashion - Engine Control Error, P Button Defective, E Sound Error, Lane Assistance Malfunction, Electrical Parking Brake Error. It should be noted that we have had the car for less than two years and have logged a little over 11,000 miles driven. Ultimately, we were towed by flat bed to the nearest Porsche Dealer in White Plains where the car is parked. We left a message for the service department at the Dealer telling them who we are, what happened and to call us before they begin an inspection. On XXX, while at a residential complex in [XXX], I got into my 2025 Porsche Cayenne and gently closed the door. Upon closing the door, the rear window spontaneously shattered completely. The conditions at the time were as follows: • Outdoor temperature: approximately 85°F — well within normal operating range • No prior chips, cracks, or visible damage to the glass before the incident • No external impact, projectile, vandalism, or theft attempt of any kind • No vehicles or people were in the immediate area at the time of failure • The only action taken was a normal, gentle closing of the car door This was not a minor crack. The window shattered completely and without warning. Flying glass debris posed a serious safety hazard to myself and anyone nearby. We were fortunate no injuries occurred. - #11741847June 3, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While slowing to a near-complete stop and preparing to shift into Park at a low-speed private property location, the vehicle suddenly and violently accelerated without any driver input. The operator, a [XXX] experienced driver, had no time to react. The vehicle travelled approximately 200-300 meters uncontrolled, narrowly missed a grounds keeper operating a tractor on the paved road, left the paved road, drove over a fallen log and between trees, and stopped autonomously just before hitting a tree directly ahead. The driver did not brake at any point. The vehicle stopped itself. Physical evidence at the scene shows deep tire marks dug into soft ground consistent with autonomous emergency braking activation directed straight toward the tree. Four witnesses were present including a bystander who nearly was struck by the vehicle. A formal safety case has been opened with the manufacturer's corporate office. Federal safety complaint also filed with Transport Canada. A nearly identical sudden unintended acceleration incident involving a 2023 Porsche Macan while parking is already on record with NHTSA. This appears to represent a pattern on the same platform and warrants formal investigation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I had a red sign on dashboard saying:*chassis failure, park the car carefully.* the car was towed to Porshe. And, was released after one week as safe to drive and dismissed the sign as a glitch. The second day of releasing the car, I had a major accident while parking the car in the garage. The accident resulted in damage to the outer wall and to cabinets. I requested an investigation of the car and the results from Porshe weren’t convincing. I know I pushed the brake twice but the car jumped with acceleration twice and stopped because of the wreckage in front of it.

Door failed to open from inside. Vehicle was used to travel approximately 6 miles from my home to a store. Upon arrival, the vehicle was placed into park. The door would not open from the inside and I was unable to exit the vehicle. Attempts were made to lock and unlock the door, in addition to pushing on the door with my body while holding the door handle in the open position. Only after placing the car into reverse and back into park did the door open normally. At the next stop, the door opened from the inside, but only after a few seconds and two attempts. The problem has not repeated itself in the 5 to 10 trips since.

- #11737280May 12, 2026ENGINE, POWER TRAIN
Vehicle developed a check engine light and camshaft sensor fault at approximately 48,000 miles. Engine began making abnormal ticking noise and later entered reduced power/limp mode condition. Vehicle was initially evaluated by an authorized Porsche dealership, where damage to the camshaft trigger/tone wheel and internal mechanical concerns within the valvetrain were identified through diagnostic evaluation and bore scope inspection. Supporting documentation from the authorized Porsche dealership, including bore scope video and diagnostic findings, has been retained. A Porsche-focused independent repair facility later identified a fractured rocker arm within the valvetrain assembly as the root cause of the failure. The failed rocker arm caused contact damage to the camshaft and related components. Repair facility advised that further movement of the failed component could have resulted in catastrophic engine failure. Failed component has been retained and documented with photographs. Vehicle required major valvetrain and camshaft repair. Concern involves internal engine component failure at relatively low mileage with potential loss of power and severe engine damage.

On 03/17/2026, I reported a safety defect in the headlight assemblies of my 2022 Porsche Macan. Dealer inspection at Porsche of Tacoma confirmed small paper fragments marked with arrows lodged inside both headlight housings. The fragments have progressively become dislodged and are now at risk of becoming freely mobile within the sealed assemblies. A loose paper object inside the housing creates a plausible risk of ignition/fire, interference with adaptive headlight aiming or mechanisms, and impaired roadway illumination, any of which could increase the likelihood of crash, injury, or death. Porsche of Tacoma (service advisor: Jayce) acknowledged the condition but refused warranty coverage, stating the vehicle is one month past the warranty expiration. The condition is present on both headlight assemblies and appears systemic, not isolated to a single unit. I request investigation and corrective action, including inspection and free repair or recall if a safety-related defect is confirmed. Photographs and dealer service notes are available upon request. This paper has been coming loose within th housing for over one year, but 03/17/2026 was the first time it had been formally addressed.

Steering Gear. It has been replaced and is not available to inspect. I was unable to turn the steering wheel and had an auto accident as a result. The dealer inspected the vehicle and replaced the steering gear under warranty. It is probable that the defective gear was sent by the dealer to the manufacturer to inspect. The warning lamps activated after the accident.

Collision warning system has never worked properly. Now it is not working at all. This was verify by Jeff Leather service director at Reno Porsche on Jan 22. They basically said the because it is old tecknology there is not much they can do about it. They are still selling new 2026 Macan with the same issues. Because most customer do not even reallize the problem. I am a senior customer and I believe that this is an important system for my safety. Being my comprehension why Porsche choose to ignore this problem

The CHIME SPEAKER in the failed with less than vehicle 11,000 miles on the odometer. This extremely low mileage indicates that the failure is due to a manufacturing defect rather than standard wear and tear. I am particularly concerned because this is not merely a convenience issue; it is a significant safety concern. The chime speaker is the primary method of delivering audible alerts for: - Turn Signal Indicators: The lack of an audible "click" prevents confirmation that signals are active, which can lead to driver error or unintentional signaling. - Seatbelt Warnings: Critical reminders for passenger safety are now silenced. - System Fault Alerts: Any immediate mechanical or electrical warnings from the vehicle’s diagnostic systems are currently uncommunicated to the driver. - Lane departure warnings. - Collision alerts - Blind spot alerts - Other advanced driving assist and safety systems. The fault has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer (Porsche Tysons Corner). The fault is also confirmed by the vehicles onboard diagnostic and warning system. The dealers proposed fix is to replace the entire instrument cluster at a cost of more than $5000 or turn the repair over to an audio shop in hopes that they can replace remove the instrument cluster and replace the chime speaker with a non-OEM part as the OEM lowest replaceable part is the entire instrument cluster. This is safety issue because very few vehicle owners will be will to spend more than $5000 to repair/replace the chime speaker.

Collion Warning alarm came on with full application of brakes with no vehicles in front or behind. No onward traffic either. Visibility was clear, and driving conditions good. Driving at 35-40 mph. Informed dealer three times (and three different individuals) on December 31 and despite a bevy of promises they have taken no action. Placed warning on Macan.com and several other (purported) owners claimed to have experienced an identical issue. This is self-evidently highly dangerous. Lack of responsivess from Porsche dealer [XXX] ) has also been derisable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On November 12, 2025 the transmission, power train, and/or other components on my Porsche Macan S failed. My Macan was parked (gear selector in "Park") on a level surface, the ignition turned off and the key removed from the ignition when it was tapped from behind by another vehicle that was exiting a residential garage. The Macan proceeded to roll over two hundred feet from the impact, jumped two curbs, crossed a street with active traffic, and finally stopped when it hit a tree. There was extensive damage to my vehicle but fortunately there were no injuries because the Macan was unmanned at the time of impact. If there were pedestrians and/or other vehicles crossing the path of the Macan they would have been hit. There were no warning signs prior to the failure. This incident has been reported to Porsche Cars North America, Inc. ("PCNA"). I requested an inspection of my vehicle at an authorized Porsche repair dealership but was told: "PCNA has determined that our involvement would not be required in this matter therefore, we are unable to investigate it further". PCNA has disavowed any responsibility for the manufacturer's defect that endangers other drivers, pedestrians and me, given the risk of reoccurrence.
