The software updates in the following Service Procedure are for the items below: ï· Stability improvements and bug fixes ï· System enhancements that will allow future Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. Without these software updates, future OTAs will not be possible. Refer to step 5 on page 5 to confirm that this bulletin applies. HINT: The update software only needs to be downloaded once and can then be used on multiple Applied Vehicles until other infotainment software is loaded onto the USB drive to overwrite the original data.

Summary***** Campaign Summary***** Nissan is committed to the safety, security and satisfaction of our customers and their passengers. Nissan will be conducting a Service Campaign on certain Model Year 2013 Nissan Altima vehicles in USA (high road salt usage states) and Model Year 2013 and 2014 Nissan Altima vehicles in Canada to replace the rear suspension lower link. On some affected vehicles, one of the Rear Lower Suspension Links may corrode and separate at the bushing joint area. Customers may notice a knocking or rattling noise from the rear of the vehicle or observe large positive camber on the rear wheel(s) if the link separates. The vehicle can be brought to a safe stop in this condition, but out of an abundance of caution, Nissan will conduct a proactive field action in specific U.S. states with high road salt usage and in Canada. Nissan will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles beginning in fall 2019, asking them to bring their vehicle to an authorized Nissan dealer, where the repair will be conducted at no cost to the owner. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Please wait until Nissan issues further instructions and identifies affected vehicles in Service Comm and DBS National Service History â Open Campaigns. No action is necessary at this time.

Affected vehicles are subject to stop sale and are either currently in dealer inventory or assigned and in transit to the dealer. *****What Dealers Should Do***** PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHED REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this quality action using Service Comm or DBS National Service History ? Open Campaigns I.D. PC707 - New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information - Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2. Please do not drive, sell or trade the specific 2019-2020 Altima vehicles in Dealer Inventory subject to this Quality Action. 3. Use the attached procedure to inspect the vehicle. - If no gold colored debris is found in the lower engine oil pan, reseal the oil pan per the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). - File a claim for the inspection, and release the vehicle for sale - If gold colored debris is found in the lower engine oil pan, provide the requested information in an email to [email protected] and HOLD the vehicle. - Do not file a claim Nissan Field Quality will review the E-mail submissions within two (2) business days of receipt and provide further instruction.
