"The fuel filler neck has rusted through and is actively leaking liquid gasoline when the tank is filled past 3/4, creating an active fire hazard. While Safety Recall 10V-065 shows as completed for this VIN, the original manufacturer remedy has completely failed. Furthermore, the local dealership refuses to inspect or address this failed safety recall without a $193 diagnostic fee, and Mitsubishi Corporate has ignored multiple email inquiries since April. I am requesting a federal review because the vehicle remains unsafe due to a failed recall remedy and the manufacturer refuses to provide a free fix."

,am writing regarding a severe safety issue at the [XXX] Mitsubishi location. Over a month ago, I brought my 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor in for an open federal safety recall regarding a fuel leak (NHTSA Recall 10V065000). I was sent away without a safe vehicle while parts were 'ordered.'Five days ago, the new service manager promised a callback the next day. I was ghosted. Today, I attempted to follow up on my parts status, and it appears the service desk has blocked my phone number. I am currently operating a vehicle that actively leaks raw gasoline at the pump in the Milwaukee area. This is a massive corporate liability. The contact owns a 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor. The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle on two occasions, gasoline was leaking under the driver’s rear, underneath the fuel door, onto the ground. The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, the fuel leak ceased. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The contact stated that on the second occasion, while refueling the vehicle, an oil pan was placed underneath. After refueling the vehicle, there was an eighth of a cup of fuel inside the oil pan. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V065000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage approximately 160,000.

I bought this car used and found out the 2010-02-25 United States FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY: FILLER PIPE AND CAP is and was in a safety recall when i pump gas the filler tube leaks gas onto the ground so i called a dealership here in Iowa and was told there is no recalls on this vehicle so i sent them the documentation from Mitsubishi was told after they looked it up its already been fixed so they will not do the recall work again was also told once a vehicle is to old they don't have to recall work that is not true if its on the road and licensed they have to do the work.

The contact owns a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a loud flapping noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. The contact also stated that the front driver's side wheel almost became detached from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and became aware that the crossmember for the front alignment was severely corroded. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 171,000.

This vehicle has a potential manufacturer defect in the rear window regarding the defroster. After repeated use of the defroster heating up the window and cooling down the elements in the glass contracted and expanded and shattered the back window spontaneously causing an over $600 repair. There was no prior damage and no other possible causation that occurred for this and the vehicle window repair specialist looked at it and determined to that the fracture line was caused by these elements embedded in the glass this needs to be investigated

The contact owns a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he smelled an abnormal gasoline odor inside the interior of the vehicle. After a visual inspection, the contact observed corrosion on the fuel filler pipe. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number 10V065000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); the VIN was included, and had already been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 195,000.

The fuel filler pipe is leaking from behind the protection plate. I've contacted a local dealer and the Manufacturer and feel that I'm getting the run around as there is a previous recall for this same problem on the 2004 model, while mine is a 2010. I had it inspected prior to contacting Mitsubishi.

I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW USED CAR DEALERSHIP HOME TOWN AUTO CAN SELL YOU A CAR THEY KNOW HAVE AN OPEN RECALL ON A VEHICLE BUT FAIL TO LET THE AMERICAN CONSUMER KNOW AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE IN 2020,THEN CALL YOU A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER SAYING THEY NEED YOU TO COME AND SIGN A PAPER SAYING AS FAR AS THEY KNOW THERE'S NO OPEN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. I ASKED WHY? IS THERE A RECALL ON MY CAR? I WAS TOLD NO. THE ONLY WAY I FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL ON MY CAR SINCE 2009 WAS FROM MY INSURANCE PROVIDER. SO I CALLED THE CAR DEALERSHIP AND ASKED HOW CAN YOU SELL ME A CAR THAT HAS A OPEN RECALL 2009. HE TELLS ME OH YEAH YOU CAN CALL THE 1-800 AND GET IT FIXED FOR FREE. I ASKED SO YOU KNEW AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE THERE IS A RECALL?THEN HE SAID NO I DON'T WORK IN SALES.THEN HE SAID IT WAS BASICALLY MY PROBLEM NOW. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL.THIS CAR COMPANY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.OH BTW THIS IS MY 2ND CAR IN 1YR BECAUSE MY 1ST CAR HAD A CRACKED ENGINE AND THEY RIGGED THE BACK SHOCK BECAUSE THE CAR WAS IN A WRECK&THEY FAILED TO TELL ME THE TITLED WAS SALVAGED!
