Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CLA, 2019-2022 A-Class, 2022-2023 C-Class, 2024 CLE, 2020-2026 GLA/GLB, and 2023-2024 GLC vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific model information. The micro-switch in the driver's door lock may corrode and fail to detect an open door, preventing the electronic parking brake or "Auto-Park" feature from engaging automatically. This may result in a vehicle rollaway.
When driving tried to give it gas/accelerate and it stalled, jerks/chugs hard with no warnings. Then after the chugs stop when trying to give gas there is no response. Acts like the transmission is in protective mode. The motor is still running and was able to coast however when trying to accelerate there was no response. Had to pull to side of road. I was able to turn it off and back on and seemed to act normal again. It acts like the current recall of NHTSA#23V445 on all the other models in same years. The check engine light did come on steady and it has the following 3 codes when checked P008A low pressure fuel, P1463 gas and P0087 fuel rail system pressure low. I called the dealership and am taking it in tomorrow to drop off for them to inspect on Monday and they believe those codes are still covered under warranty. They offered a rental to use until looked at and fixed.

From: [XXX] Phone: [XXX] Email: [XXX] SUBJECT: Vehicle: New Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 39,660 Total Purchase Price: $48,450.00 To Mercedes-Benz USA Corporate Management and Dealership Service Director, This letter serves as a formal written statement regarding an ongoing, unremedied mechanical failure that has now escalated into a severe, life-threatening safety hazard. I am officially rejecting the dealership's requests to appraise or trade in this vehicle, and I am demanding a full manufacturer repurchase (buyback) of the vehicle for my purchase price, down payment, finance charges, associated fees and taxes under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Background of Failed Repairs My vehicle has already spent 15 cumulative days out of service for an ongoing engine defect. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership recently diagnosed the vehicle and performed a major cylinder head assembly job/replacement to resolve engine misfires and a persistent Check Engine Light. This defect is well-documented by Mercedes-Benz under its active 15-year/150,000-mile extended warranty program for the M260 engine cylinder head. The Critical Safety Incident Despite the recent cylinder head replacement, the Check Engine Light has returned, signaling a total failure of the repair. More critically, on August 25, 2026 while driving the vehicle, the engine catastrophically stalled without warning in live traffic. Due to the sudden loss of engine power, power steering, and braking assist, I was nearly involved in a severe traffic accident. This vehicle is inherently unsafe, unroadworthy, and poses an immediate danger to myself and others on the road. Formal Demands Immediate Buyback Processing: Because this vehicle cannot be repaired after a major engine overhaul and now actively stalls, I am demanding a full refund of my purchase price, down payment including all associated taxes, fees, and finance charges. When driving on the highway going 65mph the car slipped in neutral and error showed on dashboard "transmission malfunction stop." I could steer and break, but not accelerate. Pulling over on side of highway, I was able to put in park and then drive. I pulled off the exit and the car did the same thing within 10 mins. Car was towed to Mercedes dealership in Warwick, RI. I was made aware after inspection that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle nor the transmission, but rather there was a needed software update that was causing the issue that had been identified previously. Regular service was due, but no indication whatsoever of the error I saw nor any other error codes. No error showed up for the technicians in inspecting the car. I was further informed, after research, that the software update was being drafted and that it would have to pass NHTSA governance. So I'd like to know if this is accurate? If NHTSA is aware? If the software update is sitting with you for approval? What is Mercedes obligation to share this with drivers noting they were aware of issue? If my [XXX] was driving she could have been killed. If I was accelerating on the highway or turning in front of a vehicle legally, I could have been killed. Thank you. Brake over heats because of rust caused by rain which builds up causing brakes to freeze up. Explanation from dealer. In fact told us we need to dry brakes off if we drive in rain and park in garage for more than 2 days or we will have it happen again. Brakes freeze and car locked up and can’t move it. We bought the car used had it inspected by a MBD in Atlanta G. Bulkhead , told breaks were like new. Mileage 23,666 miles. Put on about 4000 miles now brakes gone froze up from rain. Garage kept. While driving car we were noticing almost like the breakers were on but not stepping on break. A pulling like action. Seemed like emergency brake was on. Car at dealership now in Greenville SC Mercedes Benz dealer.
