I purchased the vehicle in 2015, and a few months ago I started having issues with the steering wheel, as well as an error message with the airbag. More recently, I am experiencing issues with my ignition switch, and after doing some research I’m seeing that many people who drive the mage and model of my vehicle are experiencing issues with their ignition switch suddenly going out. I’ve been quoted 2k to repair the issues, but I feel the Mercedes should be responsible for taking care of what seems to be a faughty ignition switch with this particular model. There was no warning, no indication that there was a problem, one day my car just wouldn’t start. I need to report this to make sure buyers are aware with issues with the C300 model for all vehicles that are a 2013 and under.

I have 65000 miles on my car. It is 2015 Mercedes C300. My Engine light came on. Found out that Crankcase Vent Valve needed to be replaced. Cost me 1200 dollars. It appears that lot of Mercedes C series cars have the same problem. I feel that Mercedes should pay for it.

I got a check engine lite and the code said positive crankcase ventilation regulator valve. While doing research I am finding out that this is a very common problem on these cars, and very expensive to fix, I’ve never even heard of this problem happening to other cars. I think a recall is in order, thank you

STEERING
The contact owns a 2019 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH and making a left turn, the steering made an abnormal sound. The contact pulled into the nearest parking lot, where the steering wheel locked. There were messages for the brake assist and the rear sensors displayed. The contact stated that he turned off and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V850000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not cover the repair because the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

My car is the 2015 Mercedes- benz (MB) c 300 4MATIC. The Check engine light is on and off for some months as initially MB dealer said that it's likely due to gas cap defects so we replaced the gas cap. After that, the engine light is still on and off. MB dealer now said $1,760 to replace crankcase vent value and $2870.55 to repair the front differential leaking/reseal. It will cost me a total of $ 4630.55 +tax to repair. The car has only 70,000 miles and kept good maintenance frequently. Right now my car is not safe to drive it so why this car is broke down so quickly. That is not acceptable to us.

The small plastic located inside the sliding panoramic sunroof explode and the Panasonic sunroof can be open/close or up/down normally but when I hit close it will stop where the broken pieces was and the roof will automatically move back to the fully open position Dealer said need the rail replaced -2057800175 -2057800275 Motor is broken, need to be replaced , he said after saying the roof can go forward and backward, up and down but can’t close completely. I was gullible to believe what the technician and sale guy said. Technically technician can check the voltage and say it for sure if it is broken. Also, a technician already knew that the sliding rail is damaged. He jumped to the conclusion that motor is broken because of sunburn. I have asked my nephew what he would do in this situation. He innocently said he would replace new sliding rails first and try to run if the “alleged motor “ is really broken. If it is broken, he can just switch to a new motor before testing to confirm it working. He wouldn’t decide to buy a new motor that cost $1,400 extra while the old one might be working properly. Anyway, labor with rails and “motor” cost $3500. Then later I learn I’m not alone. How many affected from this defective parts that Mercedes doesn’t sell it separately. Owner must buy 2 set of rails- a left set and a right set. Cost $1100 total. Rear Sub-Frame Failure almost caused a head on collision at slow speed. Hit brakes and my car fishtailed completely sideways.. - Many many complaints similar to mine on same issue, all on Mercedes C300. Some have reported to this website in hopes for recall and correction by Mercedes. It is extremely dangerous, and expensive to fix. You also do not know there's an issue until too late. Subframe rusting almost from inside out. My control arm fell right out and was hitting the gas tank! I'm thankful to be alive, This needs to be resolved. Recently we had he brakes replaced and new tires put on to prepare for a trip out to Minnesota in a couple of weeks. My son felt like the car wasn’t driving correctly and took it to the shop and upon being put on the lift the service department called and said the rear subframe rusted out and was broken and the gas tank was scratched do to the subframe rubbing against it. When he called Mercedes they told him there was an extended warranty put on these cars which I never received a letter concerning this issue. *The car is waiting to be towed to Mercedes, they would not give us back the keys, it was too dangerous to drive. *my son unknowing drove this car on the highway putting himself and others in danger for who knows how long. If he did not take it in for a check before driving himself and his father to Minnesota they could have been killed. Perhaps a fire due to the gas tank damage. *confirmed by independent repair shop but will be seen when the car is towed to Mercedes. *there was no warning to the dangerous situation my family was placed in. The cars should have been recalled. We were told by Mercedes they were fixing the problem as it arises, luckily no one was injured or killed when this problem arose!

During a drive, I had the sunroof opened and then it suddenly started raining. When I tried to close the sunroof using the button, it wouldn't budge. I had to continue driving on the highway with rain pouring inside the vehicle. When I finally found a place to stop and check the sunroof, I saw that the roof on one side was popped off. After a few minutes of trying to close it, it finally popped back into place on its own. However, now there is a rattling sound coming from the sunroof when driving, and the car is no longer quiet. I can hear outside noise as if a window is cracked opened. Every time the sunroof opens and close there’s a slight popping sound on that side and looks like it is still out of place.

SERVICE BRAKES
on 6/20/23 I was driving this vehicle on the 5 freeway north bound exit 102 in Washington. i found myself travelling at 60mph just moving over to the middle lane of traffic. i needed to slow the vehicle a little and pushing down on brakes I found there was no reaction from the braking system. Making a quick decision I moved over to the emergency lane where I came to a stop. There were no warning signs of the issue. I had the vehicle towed to my Mercedes Benz dealership where I had the car service the day before on 6/19/23 where nothing was noted on this problem. After inspection from the technician at the dealership it was found that the brake vacuum pump was no longer working. Which technician said had caused the issue and he had never experienced this issue before. i am bringing this to your attention due to it could have caused a fatal accident to with me and other people on the freeway.

My 2015 Mercedes c300 only has 39k miles and suddenly the engine light on, when I check, the dealer it shows that I need Positive Crankcase ventilation valve replace. it cost $2300. This is basically a brand new car and needing this repair every 30k is a joke please issue a recall and have Mercedes held responsible
