The contact owns a 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT53. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning illuminated. Additionally, while depressing the accelerator pedal, there was a misfire coming from the engine. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V533000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was contacted and diagnosed the vehicle with an electrical system failure associated with the recall, but the repair was not covered because the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

On July 27, 2026, while driving my 2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 under normal conditions, the vehicle suddenly displayed a suspension warning stating, “Malfunction — Drive at Max. 50 mph.” The warning appeared while the vehicle was in motion; I had not received this suspension warning before the incident. I photographed the warning when it occurred and presented the vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership for diagnosis and repair that same day. On July 30, the dealership confirmed in writing that the vehicle had a leaking front air strut and required replacement of the front air strut. The dealer advised that the required part did not have an established arrival date. As of August 24, the vehicle remains at the authorized dealership and has not been returned to me. I consider this a safety concern because the suspension malfunction occurred without prior warning while the vehicle was being driven and was serious enough for the vehicle itself to instruct the driver not to exceed 50 mph. A failure affecting an air-suspension component during operation raises concern regarding vehicle ride height, stability, handling, and the ability to safely operate the vehicle at normal highway speeds. The failed component and vehicle are presently in the possession of the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership and should therefore be available for inspection. The condition has been confirmed by the dealership as a leaking front air strut requiring replacement. The vehicle has a significant prior repair history that includes a documented steering-malfunction warning, drivability complaints, vibration, repeated check-engine warnings, and extensive mechanical repairs. I am not asserting that each prior condition shares the same cause as the present suspension failure, but I am reporting that history because it may be relevant to NHTSA's evaluation of the vehicle's safe operation. I have retained the contemporaneous photograph of the suspension warning, the dealership's writ

My 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43, VIN [XXX] , has had a recurring safety issue with the transmission wiring harness and connector X279. Mercedes-Benz said this connector can let water in, which can cause a short circuit, overheating, and a fire risk while the car is parked and off. That is why the vehicle was covered by recall 24V445 / MBUSA Campaign 2024100002. This same issue was already addressed once before in January 2023 under MBUSA Campaign 2022080010 / NHTSA 22V-533, when the connector was checked and reworked and a bracket was installed. Even after that, the car later had to go back again on November 29, 2024 for the newer recall repair, when the original two-part harness was replaced with a one-part harness. The part that concerns me most is that this is not just a routine repair issue. It is a fire risk that can happen while the vehicle is parked with the ignition off. I am also concerned that the recall and service records do not clearly show the exact completion date in the manufacturer’s system. I am asking NHTSA to record this complaint and review the defect history and repair history for this vehicle. I can provide the recall notices, service records, purchase contract, vehicle history report, and the notice I already sent to Mercedes-Benz USA. On April 17, 2026, my 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure while operating on a public roadway in Texas. The vehicle lost propulsion and became completely disabled in active traffic during dusk/nighttime conditions. All electrical systems failed simultaneously, including lighting and hazard lights. The vehicle could not be restarted, moved, or recharged roadside and was effectively “bricked.” This created a serious safety hazard because the vehicle was stranded in traffic with no hazard lights or electrical warning systems available to alert surrounding vehicles. Police officers responded to protect the vehicle and occupants due to the dangerous roadway location. Due to the low ride height/body configuration of the vehicle, a specialized tow truck was required, causing the disabled vehicle to remain exposed in traffic for more than five hours. The vehicle was finally removed around 11:00 PM and transported to a Mercedes-Benz service center. Mercedes-Benz service documentation confirmed: Internal failure involving the 12V battery system Consequential overload/failure of the 48V system Multiple diagnostic trouble codes Vehicle shutdown conditions The vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request. The condition was confirmed and inspected by Mercedes-Benz technicians and police officers at the scene. Prior to the total failure, dashboard warning messages and malfunction alerts had appeared. After repairs including replacement of the 12V and 48V systems, the vehicle again displayed warning messages on May 7, 2026: “Cooling System Malfunction – Reduced Drive Power – Service Required.” Because this warning resembled the precursor symptoms before the original total shutdown event, the vehicle was immediately returned to the same Mercedes-Benz service center to prevent another dangerous roadway failure.

Was traveling to Ft. Worth to babysit my grandchildren and when I was on the freeway in afternoon traffic my car was not accelerating and I kept stepping on the gas and the car started to get slower and then all of a sudden it completely stopped in the middle of traffic(I didn't pull over to the side like Mercedes stated, it stopped in the middle lane of the freeway, the engine light was on) and I had to locate the hazard lights so no one would run into the back of my car. When it stopped, I had to put it in park and restart the car. I thank God that my grandchildren weren't with me or that someone didn't hit the back of the car. I ask Siri to find the nearest dealership and it was Mercedes-Benz of Grapevine, proceeded to go there first. They called me the next morning and told me it was the Fuel Pump. Then on Jan. 16, 2026, I took my car in for routine maintenance and they found a leak on the Front Differential and they practically removed the whole engine to fix the leak. Had this fix on Jan 20, 2026 This car just turn 2 years old on Dec. 23. Contacted the corporate office as I was directed by the Service Director, Richey Barnes and was told that before they could do anything it had to break down again or anything major. I told them that I have my young grandchildren with me since I often have to babysit them and he told me that there was nothing he could do.
