SummarySome automotive cleaning products contain strong acid or alkali. When these types of cleaners are used to clean the wheels on Mazda vehicles, the chemicals contents penetrate the clear coating of the wheel surface and damage the paint under the clear coating. SummarySome vehicles may exhibit grooves (1) in rear brake disc plate(s), as shown below. This concern is mostly found on new or low mileage vehicles, when the brakes are new. The grooves may be caused through abrasion from the accumulation of metal particles from the rear brake disc plates. The metal particles get caught between the brake pads and disc plates causing groove damage. To eliminate this concern, the disc plate surface honing process has been changed to reduce metal particle formation.

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit power outer mirror(s) that do not fold in and/or out when using the outer mirror switch. SummarySome customers may experience a check engine light illumination with DTCs P24C6:00, P24AE:00, P24B1:00 and/or P24AF:00 stored in PCM memory. P24C6:00 - PM sensor: internal temperature sensor malfunction (1DC DTC) P24AE:00 - PM sensor control circuit range/performance problem (1DC DTC) P24B1:00 - PM sensor circuit high input (1DC DTC) P24AF:00 - PM sensor circuit range/performance (2DC DTC) [Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor] DTCs may be caused by the following: DTC P24C6:00: May be caused by water condensation in the exhaust system which may accumulate on the PM sensor element and result in cracks. DTCs P24AE:00, P24B1:00, P24AF:00: May also be caused by water condensation in the exhaust system which may accumulate on the PM sensor element and result in an incorrect output signal. To eliminate these DTCs, the following improvements have been made: The PM sensor has been improved (DTC P24C6:00). The mounting orientation of the PM sensor has been changed to reduce water accumulation (DTCs P24AE:00, P24B1:00, P24AF:00). The detection condition of DTCs P24AE:00 and P24B1:00 has been changed to 2DC, which will no longer detect a temporary incorrect sensor output

SummaryA valve tapping or knocking noise may be heard from the top end after the engine cools down (the vehicle is parked overnight) or after it has been idling for an extended time. The tapping noise will decreases as the vehicle is being driven or if the rpm is held above 2500-3000 RPM. This may be caused by the valve Hydraulic Lifters (HLA) bleeding down as the engine cools or when the engine has been idling for an extended period of time, creating excessive valve lash clearance.

SummaryDue to a vehicle side logic change for the vehicles listed above, the seat warming and seat ventilation systems will no longer automatically turn on when the vehicle is started using the MMS accessory. Both features will now require a manual setting every time the vehicles are restarted after being turned off. Refer to the vehicle ownerâÂÂs manual for more details on proper seat warmer/seat ventilation operation.

SummarySome customers may complain that their seat warmers or seat ventilation do not turn on when the engine is restarted after being left on when turning off the engine. The logic has changed from previous Mazdas where the seat warmers and seat ventilation automatically turned on when the engine was restarted. NOTE: Customers in cold weather are more likely to complain about this if their vehicle is equipped with Mazda Mobile Start (MMS) (not available on Mazda3 or CX-30) because the MMS accessory instructions state the seat warmers WILL turn on when the engine is restarted. The same can happen in the hotter weather with the seat ventilation. This information is incorrect for these vehicles. Both features will now require a manual setting every time the vehicles are restarted after being turned off. Consult the vehicleâÂÂs ownerâÂÂs manual for more details on proper seat warmer/seat ventilation operation.

SummarySome vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored in memory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed.ï· P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem ï· P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input. As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. This is caused by the engine being started 3 or more times after a short duration of engine off (less than 15 seconds) with the room fused removed. NOTE: The odometer will display âÂÂF0-002â during transport mode (room fuse 15A removed). Transport mode is canceled when room fuse 15A is installed or the vehicle odometer is more than 12.4mi (20km).Vehicles in dealer inventory with this concern should be repaired using the following repair procedure.

SummaryIn accordance with Federal regulations, follow the procedure listed below when replacing a speedometer. NOTE: Tampering with a motor vehicle odometer is strictly prohibited by Federal, and State laws. It is the dealerâÂÂs responsibility to comply with Federal, State, and local laws concerning odometer and related documentation requirements when providing a repair or replacement. ï· Mazda vehicles are manufactured with tamper-proof speedometers. ï· When a speedometer is replaced, the new speedometer will read zero (0) miles. ï· This procedure is extremely important to accurately represent actual vehicle mileage. ï· Prior to speedometer removal, complete the information required on the âÂÂSpeedometer Replacement LabelâÂÂ. Labels can only be ordered through Mazda eStore. ï· In an effort to achieve a higher level of Customer Experience and retain the value of MazdaâÂÂs vehicles, MNAO Warranty Operations is allowing all Mazda dealers to utilize a third party, SPECMO Enterprises, Inc., for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) odometer setting service. With the use of SPECMOâÂÂs services, it is possible that the odometer will be set between 10 to 31 miles over the odometer mileage at the time of replacement for both warranty and customer pay repairs. Please make sure that the customer is aware that there may be a slight variance to the odometer, in which case the customer may have to accept the slightly higher mileage. Since odometer setting service is not part of the warranty repair, it is not warrantable nor required, but optional. However, Mazda Warranty policy provides after- warranty assistance (AWA) or DSA that can be utilized to cover this service expense.
