Engine light came on, vehicle went into limp mode. Transmission would not shift any higher than 3rd gear and kept slipping while on interstate! Was almost hit by several 18 wheelers! Jeep dealership said our vin is not part of the service bulletin but they did get the P0733 code! Make it make sense! I guess we’re supposed to get run over by 18 wheelers before they’ll fix it!

The start-stop system reports unavailable, then within a few miles of driving, the check engine light will come on, followed by problems with the transmission shifting gears, sometime causing the vehicle to stay in first or second gear while accelerating and creating a dangerous driving situation. Power cycling the vehicle sometimes helps. Diagnostic trouble codes show low voltage in one or more O2 sensors, "too lean" warnings and cylinders randomly misfiring. Engine runs very rough at idle with the strong smell of gas in the exhaust. Dash information shows battery voltage around 12.3 at start up increasing to low 13 while idling. This occured around 40,000 miles and dealer replaced the aux battery and reset system. It occurred again around 60,000 miles (20 months later) and owner replaced both auxiliary battery (testing showed bad) and main battery. System functioned normally after resetting codes. It occurred again about 8 months later at 72,000 miles. The F42 fuse was pulled, cleared codes and reset computer by removing battery power for 1 hour. System returned to normal.

Vehicle has been in the shop at 17,000 miles and had a complete transfer case, front and rear output shafts and rear Danna 44 (Max Tow) replaced in November of 2025. In June of 2025 vehicle has been in another shop for the same issues that occurred before these driveline repairs for three weeks now. Shop can not diagnose issues after three weeks. A star report has been made and Jeep is sending a technician to diagnose.

There was a recall for the clutch. I took it to the dealer (Autonation Jeep in Santa Clarita, CA). Ever since then, there is an intermittent, non-reproducible grinding and clicking (sound and feeling through the pedal) in the clutch (like a loose piece/nut is bouncing around and clanking and grinding against the clutch). The clutch pedal is also more spongy, catching only about halfway down, and sometimes feeling like at full depression it is not entirely engaged. I have taken it back to the dealer twice, and both times they will not work on it because they cannot hear or reproduce the feel/sound. The sponginess of the clutch is subjective, they say, and their opinion is that it feels fine.

On May 27, 2026 at approximately 11:00 PM, my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland (VIN: [XXX] ) suffered catastrophic engine failure during normal operation at 78,190 miles. The alternator seized, causing the harmonic balancer (crankshaft damper) to fracture. The broken balancer fell into the engine block, causing extensive internal damage requiring complete engine replacement at significant cost. This failure sequence points to a design and/or manufacturing defect in the OEM alternator and/or its mounting system on the 3.6L Pentastar V6. A properly designed alternator should not seize with enough force to fracture the harmonic balancer and deposit debris into the engine block under normal operating conditions. The vehicle was not involved in any accident or operator abuse. It was being driven normally with no prior warning — no dashboard lights, no unusual sounds, no prior related mechanical issues. I request NHTSA investigate whether this failure pattern is systemic across 2020 Jeep Gladiator vehicles and other 3.6L Pentastar V6 platforms, including the Jeep Wrangler, Ram 1500, and Dodge Durango. Sudden complete engine failure at highway speeds is an immediate crash hazard to the driver and surrounding motorists. I respectfully request a formal defect investigation and, if warranted, a safety recall with full remediation and reimbursement of repair costs to affected owners. On Friday, May 22, 2026, at approximately 59,442 miles, the vehicle's instrument panel cluster (IPC) failed suddenly and without warning. The vehicle was driven to a store in [XXX] , with the display functioning normally, but upon restarting the vehicle less than an hour later, the central information screen went completely blank. The screen remains permanently blank and fails to display any driver information. At night, turning the vehicle on causes the screen to emit a faint dark gray backlight, but no text, gauges, or data populate. This failure creates an immediate safety hazard. With a permanently blank cluster, I am forced to drive without access to a speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, or critical vehicle warning and safety lights, severely impacting my ability to maintain safe speeds and monitor vehicle health on public roads. The vehicle was inspected on May 27, 2026, by an authorized Jeep dealership (Lopp Motors in Dodge City, KS). The technician confirmed the failure and noted: "INFO SCREEN BETWEEN TACH AND SPEEDO IS BLANK. NO CODES IN SYSTEM PERTAINING TO CONCERN. TECH TRIED TO RESET CLUSTER AND PERFORMED PROXI ALIGNMENT – WOULD NOT ALIGN. ATTEMPT A VEHICLE CONFIG RESTORE – STILL NO CLUSTER OPERATION. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REQUIRES REPLACEMENT." This identical component failure is the subject of NHTSA Campaign 24V-652 (Jeep Recall 30B); however, my 2020 model year VIN is currently excluded due to manufacturer time-in-service parameters. The vehicle and the failed component are available for inspection upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11740330May 27, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
My 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave has an ongoing brake issue that persists despite inspections by multiple dealerships. When starting the vehicle in the morning, the brake pedal is unusually hard and sits lower than expected, requiring excessive force before the engine will engage. Once the engine is running, pedal pressure returns to normal. For comparison, I also regularly drive a 2020 Jeep Gladiator and a 2023 Jeep Wrangler, neither of which exhibit this condition. Additionally, after driving for approximately one hour or longer, the vehicle experiences significant brake fade. Increased pedal pressure is required to slow or stop the vehicle, particularly during downhill driving. I routinely drive long distances between Seattle and Tucson and consider this a serious safety concern. In an attempt to address the issue, I spent several hundred dollars upgrading the braking system with ceramic brake pads and drilled rotors. While overall braking performance improved somewhat, the hard brake pedal during startup and brake fade issues remain constant and unresolved. I have worked extensively with two Jeep dealerships regarding this matter: Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson and West Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM. I also contacted a Jeep customer service representative, who advised that if dealership technicians could not identify a problem, then no issue existed. An independent mechanic suggested the symptoms may indicate a vacuum leak affecting the brake booster system, which could explain the excessive pedal force required during startup. However, to the best of my knowledge, neither dealership has performed a thorough investigation of the brake booster or vacuum system.

I recently experienced significant transmission issues, specifically hard engage in reverse (cold), and failure to shift higher than 3rd gear. The rear axle is leaking and the front axle is shaking. My jeep has the P0733 code for the D-clutch failure confirmed at a Jeep dealership, along with the steering damper Campaign XF1 and the Dana M220 axle (TSB 03-001-23) and should be included in these TSB’s/CSN’s/Campaigns! It is currently sitting at the Jeep Dealership in Covington, La unable to be driven needing $9790 worth of repairs from all of these and I’ve barely had it a year! I am so disappointed in Jeep

This vehicle suffered a sudden; catastrophic hydraulic brake fluid leak and complete system failure shortly after a service visit with only 700 miles total on the new vehicle. Hours prior to the failure, Lindsay Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Manassas, VA (where the vehicle was purchased new, earlier that month) performed and signed off on a multi-point inspection as fully functional while the vehicle was taken in for other warranty service (non safety or brake related). As a former mechanic, I inspected the vehicle immediately when I arrived home on the same day and discovered the brake fluid reservoir was almost half empty with fluid actively leaking and pooling on the frame and around the inner fender! Due to the catastrophic safety risk, the vehicle was immediately towed to Safford Jeep of Fredericksburg, VA to due it being geographically closer to my home, confirming the safety failure, and fixing the following defective components: Brake Hydraulic Control Unit and ABS Module. Lindsay Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Manassas, VA (the originally servicing dealership) completely falsified the multi-point safety inspection that they signed off on, sending my vehicle on public roads in Northern Virginia, some of the most dangerous traffic in the world. Of note, I also drive the vehicle to/from work almost 100 miles per day during the week to/from Stafford, VA to Washington, DC. If I had not inspected the vehicle myself and waited until the first appointment for the first oil change, this would have without a doubt, caused a serious accident in [XXX] , which is the route i mostly travel, a large amount of property damage, likely injury or possible death, due to the absolute fact that I would have lost all brake fluid and have had no brakes at all. There were no warning lamps illuminated at all. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Last year I received a message, letter and perhaps an email related to my jeep and recall for the clutch plate assembly. The recall was performed twice because first was incorrect. Transmission had to be replaced a few weeks later. Since then, I've had numerous visits to dealership, and had several incidents this week traveling across country to clear "Service Transmission messages: on the display, and two incidents where the jeep went into "limp mode" at high speeds. Four more stops have not fixed the problem. Now I am at a place who has found that the transmission was not installed properly, the software wasn't properly flashed and things were left hanging (connectors and cables) without being properly secured. The transmission was replaced under warranty, which has run out, but these messages have been appearing since the original recall. Now, I am going to have to pay a large fee (over 3000 dollars) to get Jeep back. Plus paying 100 to another dealership in Kansas to have them look at the jeep without a remedy. (See:Jeep Recall 19A / NHTSA Campaign 23V116, NHTSA Recall 24V-572, NHTSA Recall 21V-028 / Jeep Recall Y01 ) - my Jeep is listed as "0 recalls" but the dealership has not reported any work on my vehicle to CarFax. The repair shop is working with me to collect evidence (Photos, documentation, and data about the Jeep's issues. ALL of this began immediately after the first recall last year, and these problems have not been remedied, and the Jeep has become dangerous when on the highway. (Limp mode multiple times: 17 Feb2026, 13 May 26, 13 May 26 all at highway speeds). This should have been covered under warranty, and I should not be subjected to "No repair" because a dealership "Doesn't see a problem" - the computer doesn't keep any codes for these incidents, thus they will not dig into the problem, and now warranty has expired so they can charge whatever they wish.

Premature clutch failure around 20,000 miles. It happened the first time the 4WD was engaged. Vehicle is in limp mode and cannot drive. There were no warnings prior to the issue. Previous year models have had NHTSA recalls issued for clutch failures.
