All of my ADAS systems were disabled due to a water leak. The repair required the dealership to hire a "leak doctor" and then replace a module in the rear tailgate. My vehicle showed an alert on the dash that each of the ADAS features were disabled, auto high beams were disabled, and I could not turn the vehicle off by pushing the start/stop button once, I had to use a procedure that forced the vehicle to shut down. My interior dash lights flickered, I'm not sure if the headlights worked. As the interior dried out, the flickering occurred less frequently. I was able to drive the vehicle to a Honda dealer for repairs.

I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety defect involving my Honda Odyssey equipped with Honda Sensing technology. During normal operation and without any accident, impact, windshield damage, repair, or environmental event, all Honda Sensing safety systems suddenly and simultaneously stopped working. The disabled systems include Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Forward Collision Warning, and related camera- and radar-based features. Multiple warning messages appeared, and the vehicle effectively lost all advanced driver-assistance and collision-avoidance capabilities at once. This occurred without warning and without any action on my part. This failure is extremely concerning because Honda Sensing features are marketed and relied upon as critical active safety systems intended to help prevent or mitigate crashes. A sudden, total loss of these systems materially reduces vehicle safety and places occupants and other road users at increased risk. A safety system that can fail entirely and unexpectedly—absent any triggering event—indicates a potential systemic defect, not routine maintenance or wear. I am concerned this issue may affect other Honda vehicles equipped with Honda Sensing and may be related to a common failure in cameras, radar units, software, or vehicle electronics. I respectfully request that NHTSA review and log this complaint, investigate this failure pattern, and determine whether a defect investigation, service bulletin, or recall is warranted in the interest of public safety. Vehicle details: Make: Honda Model: Odyssey Model Year: 2020 Mileage: 87000 VIN: [XXX] Thank you for your attention to this serious safety matter. the trunk door stopped working due to a leak from the rear left window seal causing the computer to become waterlogged the mechanic that fixed it said its a common issue with the Honda odyssey and should be recalled by Honda, I am therefore requesting the nhtsa to investigate this matter further so Honda should reimburse for the cost of the repair this issue can be a safety hazard in the event of a emergency egress from the trunk as it's not possible to open from the exterior and there was no prior warnings lamps or messages

Service engine light has been lit up and it says “emissions system problem”. I have had it tested at the shop and it states code P219A (air-fuel ratio variation of cylinder [bank 1, rear bank) which I am told has a warranty extension from Honda for 10 years or 150k miles. I am told my VIN does not quality. If other 2019 Odyssey’s have the same issue and qualify, why doesn’t mine? The fuel injectors are clogging and failing way too early for 66k miles. This has been going on for around 6 months Safety concerns - Potential engine failure, reduced performance, and increased emissions

The problem with this vehicle is what I believe to be the transmission. When the car accelerates there is a delayed effect. The car jerks or unexpectedly accelerates while driving. Our safety has been compromised because of this issue. It’s random when these things happen. I’ve taken it the to dealership and they have said they found nothing wrong. There are no lights that come up.

The Multipurpose Camera Unit has failed resulting in loss of Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, Automatic braking and other features related to the MCU. The dealer inspected the car and confirmed the issue was a bad camera. There are approximately 6 warnings when starting the car of features not working, and 3 lights that remain lit on the dash including "Brake System".

I own a 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite. While driving to ER for my daughter engine started making weird knocking sounds, when I stopped at a red light to turn left off the interstate Odyssey just died and began to smoke. My daughter and I were advised to get out of the vehicle for safety reasons, due to smoke. There was no warning lights or any other indication that the Odyssey had a problem. 911 was contacted fire and police responded, it was determined that engine reached max temperature. Odyssey was towed to Honda dealer for diagnostics, it was determined that connecting rod bearing was bad and long block needed to be replaced, starter also imploded and needed to be replaced. I contacted manufacturer to ask for a "Goodwill Repair" due to NHTSA Campaign Number 23V751000. Per manufacturer Honda would not offer any assistance for the engine repair even though recall matches exact part affected in the recall. All regular maintenance oil changes, 100,000 mile service, new tires, have been performed on the Odyssey. I can provide receipts and records. The failure mileage was 167,384.

The contact owns a 2004 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact pulled over to the right side of the roadway, turned off the vehicle for approximately 30-minutes before restarting the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to her residence. The failure had occurred several times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 284,000.

My car needs a complete engine replacement due to "rod knock" or "bottom-end failures." It's my understanding that some Honda vehicles were recalled due to this (Recall 23V-751). And that there were other vehicles having issues beyond the scope of this recall (Query RQ24013). I'm disappointed because my Honda mechanic and independent mechanic have cited my impeccable service records and have told me there is nothing more I could have done. This feels fraudulent.

Multiple warning lights, all for the safety system: ACC, automatic emergency braking, etc. I am told by the dealer that this is due to a faulty forward camera. Looking at the NHTSA site and other forums, this is a VERY common issue and should be addressed.

- #11710760January 13, 2026POWER TRAIN
The vehicle experienced a sudden internal transmission failure (power train). While driving, the vehicle began making grinding noises during acceleration and lost propulsion. The vehicle then displayed multiple warning indicators, including a transmission warning and a blinking electric parking brake indicator. After stopping, the vehicle would not engage Drive and became inoperable, requiring towing. The transmission remains available for inspection at the dealership. This failure created a safety risk due to loss of propulsion and inability to move the vehicle under its own power, including the risk of being stranded in traffic or unable to safely clear a roadway. The problem was confirmed by an authorized Honda dealership, which diagnosed an internal transmission failure and recommended full transmission replacement. No prior transmission repairs had been performed by outside shops. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Honda dealership. The manufacturer has not physically inspected the vehicle beyond dealership diagnosis. Warning symptoms included intermittent grinding during acceleration and loss of power shortly before complete failure. Warning messages and indicators appeared at the time of failure.

- #11710321January 12, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Upon start up my 2020 Honda Odyssey EX-L throws a slew of pop-up’s on the dash (collision mitigation problem, auto high beam problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keep assist problem, road departure mitigation problem). It's been doing this for months, but when it started, I had just gotten an oil change 2 weeks prior and knew my mechanic would've caught this if it was something major. Last week I took it back in for another oil change and asked them to check these errors. They checked the battery and it’s fine (under 2 years old), but they confirmed it's the adaptive cruise control camera. They said not many places work on those cameras and I'll have to have the dealer do the repair. Well upon searching, it seems pretty consistent that this repair is costing owners $1700 because the camera has to be recalibrated with the software after it's replaced. I'm also seeing this problem appears to be widespread for Honda owners. Honda needs to do something to make this right for their customers. A $1700 repair for a camera that randomly dies by no fault of the owner is insane, and considering how many driver assistance systems to improve safety are affected, Honda should be held accountable. - #11709933January 9, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, SUSPENSION, WHEELS
The vehicle experiences abnormal vibration and shaking felt from the rear during braking at moderate to highway speeds. The condition does not occur during steady driving and is isolated to braking events. An authorized dealership inspected the vehicle and documented rear brake rotor thickness variation but no repair was performed. The issue has continued and raises concerns about braking stability and safety, especially at higher speeds.
