The odometer is often unreadable. This has happening for several months now, maybe over a year, but recently more and more. I looked online and many people are saying this is a safety issue - these readings are used for inspections, maintenance, insurance, etc. Th problem is that there are extra segments highlighted in the LCD display, which makes the affected digits unreadable. Like, if all 7 segments appear showing an "8", that could be any number. If the number shows as a 7, it might really be a 1 -- you can't tell. If it shows a 3, that might really be a 7 or 1. Sometimes there is no actual digit showing, just a random assortment of segments. Date of "first" occurrence below is just an estimate, but it has really gotten worse in the last few weeks.

SERVICE BRAKES, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
This is the second time I’ve had to bring my car in. I have a variety of different warning signs popping up and I see that I’m not the only person that this is happened to when I look at Reddit online the malfunction is somewhere within the car system and it’s because of a windshield camera, which has nothing to do with the, warning signs that I am getting on my car. This needs to be recalled and fixed for free.

After any kind of weather event that produces water (rain, morning dew, snow melt), the car battery is dead the next morning. It jump starts the following day and will be drive normal until it sits overnight and the dew settles back in. There has been evidence of water leakage from the rear cargo door and the power door does not function. The only way to open the door is by removing the plastic cover and utilizing the mechanical lever on the inside of the door. The problem is a daily occurrence with dew and other water events. We have not gone to any automated carwashes, strictly handwash the car. No warning lights have been produced.

The contact owned a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 25 MPH, there was smoke emerging from the vehicle. The driver was able to pull over, and the vehicle caught fire. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, crash or airbag deployment. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. A police report was filed. The fire department was on the scene to extinguish the fire. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). However, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The dealer informed the contact the vehicle was safe to drive as long as the engine warning light was not illuminated. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.Parts distribution disconnect.

Just purchased a 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite and as soon as I turned on the sound to listen to music for carplay /bluetooth/stereo all methods of sound it started making loud crackling sounds and starts going intermittent with sound cutting out. I lowered the volume and crackling still loud like little tiny rocks hitting window sound. I seen there's a recall with the same issue for other vehicles but when i input my VIN there's no recalls. I am having the same issue and feel like my vin /vehicle type should be on recall as well.

My 2018 Honda Odyssey van have had persistent acceleration hesitations after completed stops, especially during making left or right turns at street intersections since July 2022. This car normally hesitates for 2 to 3 seconds after accelation pedad is pressed before suddently jumps forward. Acceleration hesitation for few seconds, during making a turn, is very dangerous due to in coming cars in my opinion; as a result, we have tried to avoid using my odyssey van as much as possible due to potential accidents when making a turn with this Honda van.

The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the failure recurred while driving and exiting a parking lot. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The mechanic related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

STEERING
The steering wheel makes a noise when turning, you can also feel the steering wheel popping/clunking when going into turns with bumps. There was a recall for the Honda Odyssey back in March of 2024 for this issue but my vehicle was not part of it, however I believe the issue lies with the steering gear box/steering column. I have taken my vehicle into Honda 6 times (5 times attached and currently it is there) and have not been able to get anywhere, they lubricated the steering shaft which alleviated the noise but 6 months later it came back. This noise started back in January of 2023.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving at approximately 10 MPH, while turning at an intersection, the vehicle hesitated and nearly stalled, before regaining motive power. The contact stated that the failure recurred at various speeds. There were no warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was revving independently while driving; however, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact stated that the RPM had increased to 4,000 RPM, and the vehicle was making an abnormal sound. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or independent mechanic. The front facing monocular camera of the ADAS system has failed on this 2019 Honda Odyssey with approximately 50,000 miles. The failure of this camera has rendered the ADAS systems inoperable including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance. This appears to be a common complaint/failure mode amongst many similar Honda models 2018 - 2022. The tailgate malfunctions and the car does not register the tailgate as closed even if it is closed. The power tailgate ceases to be operational and the locks do not work. The cause is a defect in a seam which allows rain water to reach the control unit for the tailgate. This was confirmed after an inspection at an official Honda dealer. This is a safety issue because it renders the car inoperable. The “tailgate open” warning signs and sounds flash. There is currently a Honda “Engineering Request for Investigation” released. The adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and other safety functions associated with the front camera failed. These safety features are a huge part of the vehicle and doesn't feel safe to drive. The front camera has failed in under 6 years and is currently being replaced by the dealer to hopefully fix these issues. The repair is not covered by Honda.
