Steering has become intermittently "sticky" in the last year. The vehicle has 12,000 miles on it. The dealer says the EPS Steering rack is the cause and needs replacing at owner's cost.

- #11590660May 24, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving on the way home from work and without cause my car braked suddenly propelling me forward and my items to the floor. I blew my horn to alert the car behind me and thankfully no one rear-ended me or any other vehicle. It stayed on brake for approximately 20 seconds before it released the brake for me to move out of the road.

The car failed to start three times and stalled twice in 1 day. My new driver, [XXX] , was driving when this occurred. Car was driven to a local mechanic that diagnosed "code P0087 Fuel pressure failure open recall - recommend going to the dealership." The car was then taken to Holler Honda. They confirmed the problem. The part was ordered but is back ordered. I've been given an ETA of September 2024. I have not been offered a loaner and am currently renting a car at my own expense as the car is now inoperable. The vehicle has under 37,000 miles INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The steering is sticking in a range about 5 to 25 degrees on turning to either side. Most often felt when driving into a curve on the left side. Can feel it get stuck as you come out of curve back into a straight away, However, you can feel it sticking even when making gentle steering corrections on a straight away. My concern is reading that you have been investigating this in other Honda models including my own model and year, and that there have been issues with crashes. I am seeing the dealer on Tuesday to report the problem.

I was parking in the garage in the condominium complex where I live. Because the spaces are narrow with a concrete post on the left of my space and a parked car on my right, rather than pull directly into my space I typically stop the car a few feet beyond my space, reverse to align my car with the spot, and then pause to center the steering before I shift to drive. At this point the parking spot is about one car length in front of me. On this particular afternoon, as soon as I put the car into drive, it abruptly accelerated and in the split second before I hit the concrete wall directly in front of me I knew that I had no control over the car's speed. Upon impact, the airbag deployed giving me a sternal fracture and other bruising. I do not know why this sudden acceleration occurred, since I had stopped and carefully positioned the car to slowly move forward into my parking space. After the accident, I checked the floor mat (having heard that sometimes can interfere with the gas pedal) but the floor mat was securely in place. The car was towed to the repair shop and a week later the insurance company declared my car a total loss. When I asked the repair shop if they could tell what caused this sudden acceleration they suggested trying to secure the car's black box, and I mentioned this to the insurance representative. The insurance company have since moved the car to be used for salvage. I do not know what caused sudden acceleration. I can only assume the problem was electrical or computer, as opposed to human error. I am submitting this report in the hopes that others will be protected from being hurt in accidents like this.

Purchased vehicle March 6,2024. On the test drive I noticed some front end passenger issues and jerking of steering wheel while driving. I was assured it was a tire issue and alignment. I put new pads, rotors, calipers on front end and bought new tires. Car is still jerking from side to side while trying to steer no matter the speed but worse over 50 MPH.

The vehicle automatically locked while my key fob was inside the vehicle. I closed the door with the child in my car, and walked away. When I returned, I had found that the car had automatically locked and my key was inside. My child was trapped inside the vehicle. I called emergency responders who arrived quickly and was able to pry open the door and unlock the vehicle. The "Walk Away Auto Lock" feature was not activated, so it should not have locked on its own. Other car owners have reported this issue with children and pets being trapped in the vehicle. [XXX] This is a dangerous feature that Honda needs to fix. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The center dash display has a compass. It blinks nonstop and is very distracting—especially at night. I have asked my Honda dealership about safety recalls or software updates several times, and have been told that there are not any updates or fixes. I feel this is a safety issue mainly due to the distraction caused by the constant blinking and not knowing if the direction is actually correct.

- #11590252May 22, 2024LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The electrical components that failed or malfunctioned include the lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, collision mitigation system, and adaptive cruise control. These systems are critical for safe driving, and their malfunctions put safety at risk by causing unintended lane departures, inability to avoid collisions, and failure to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The issue was confirmed by a dealer during the first service visit, but subsequent visits did not reproduce the problem, despite new pictures showing recent issues with visible mileage. The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. Error messages appeared on numerous occasions while turning on the car or operating it.

For 5th time since about July 2023, my HONDA CR-V 2014 vehicle experienced Sudden unexpeced acceleration" It has about 57,400 miles. It has occurred very sporadically only since about July 2023. Today as I was parking and going extremely slow in lot, I was about to stop though just creeping very slow, pushed on brake and felt a sudden surge forward. I placed transmission in neutral as I was feet away from parked car ahead of me, and engine rived up to about 2500 RPM for maybe 6-8 seconds and then back to normal idle speed of about 1100RPM. As in prior occasions, it has not recurred again but surely will in the furred. I know that nobody has really found a cause to the issue but called dealer (Honda City, Newton, MA) and spoke to service rep. He claimed he had no clue what I was talking about and merely said it has been since 2020 (37,000 miles) since you replaced transmission fluid, as it that has any bearing since suggested change is after 30k-50k miles and already clanged twice. I sent an email to Honda (Case # [XXX]) and waiting to hear back. Obviously the dealer is playing dumb and just wants to do irrelevant unnecessary service or look at error codes (there have been none) at big cost with no results as in other cases. The issue is one that puts others in danger and so far unanswered. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Hello on or about April [XXX] I was driving my Honda CRV on the freeway. all of a sudden I felt the car sputter. It went down to 25 miles an hour. I pulled over and shut the car off. A couple hours later. Oh my dashboard lights went on. One after another, I called Honda and got the service department voicemail.. Then I called my mechanic and he suggested I reboot the computer Which I did. The next day it did the same thing. I called Honda again the same thing voicemail. I called my mechanic and he suggested that I bring it in to be diagnosed.. He said it was the fuel injectors. And suggested I get a hold of Honda. I made a 3rd call ,same thing voicemail. Finally five days later after emailing the service department manager. I finally got a phone call back. I basically was told there’s nothing they can do for me. The quote for the car was $600 more than my mechanic. So my mechanic fixed it. Two weeks later, the service manager called me and told me it was covered under warranty. But I had already had the car fixed. Brad Haag from Honda of Middleburg Heights told me to send my receipt to iHonda corporate, and they said they could not help me. After doing some research on the Internet this seems to be a very common problem with Honda CRV’s. I truly believe this is a safety issue. I could’ve been killed that day.. I bought this car for its safety and reliability. I believe these cars are not safe to be on the road with fuel injectors that just fail without warning. Thank you. Steering sticks momentarily when turning the steering wheel. This could be a potentially fatal problem. I just called the dealership, and there are no recalls although the problem has been widely reported online. No warning lights.
