While accelerating the vehicle began to make an audible liquid grinding sound and three error codes popped up, one after another. The engine light began to flash, however the vehicle kept moving. I limped roughly .5 mile to the closest service station where I subsequently had my vehicle towed to the dealership where it was purchased. Later notified the lifter and CAM failed. Mind you, this vehicle currently has 55,000 miles and has already had the transmission replaced at 45,000 miles due to metal flake in the transmission because of a faulty hose from GM. While I appreciate the dealership ordering a new engine for me, I do not feel safe driving this vehicle, and do not feel it should be resold to anyone given the MAJOR safety issues associated.

I was driving 55 mph and the engine failed without any prior warning. I was partially blocking traffic while waiting for a tow truck. The car was taken to a repair facility and diagnosed. Spun rod bearings on cylinders 1 and 2 damaged the crankshaft. I purchased this car $49,000 45 days ago and have made one payment on a car that is not drivable and parts are not readily available. There is a GM service bulletin because this is a known issue but not a recall. The power train warranty is up by mileage not time. I contacted the dealership and GMC and they will not assist with repairs.

My vehicle has a message that pops up and says "Service Transmission Now, Unable to Shift Soon". I took my vehicle in to a GM dealership and they did a diagnostics and told me that it needed to be "updated and "rebooted". This was not covered under my power train warranty because it was software. However, the message is stil showing and my vehicle is not shifting, jumping, and not wanting to drive- indicating that the transmission may be going out. This is a safety hazard.

When vehicle is turned on OR during normal driving, audio volume randomly goes to full high mode (all the way up) to a deafening level that makes it difficult to drive. The knob, steering wheel controls and any connected devices (like the phone) do not control the audio. Audio setting is completely unresponsive and will not turn down. It is not possible to drive in this condition. I had to pull over and turn my car off. I turned it on and off several times before the audio did not come on full blast and I could safely drive my car. This is the third time this has happened to me. Two out of 3 times I had a young child in the car.

I bought a brand new Yukon Denali in 2021. In 2022 at 12,000 miles, the car was riding extremely rough. It was diagnosed as a transmission issue and the transmission was rebuilt after 90 days in the service department at a GMC dealer. Later in 2022, I started getting low oil lights on the dash. The car was brought back to GMC and I was told that there aren't any leaks evident so nothing was done. This happened repeatedly over the last 2 years, at multiple GMC service departments. No leaks, nothing to see here. Last week, the car started shaking violently while driving, with multiple warning lights appearing on the dash. Finally the car just died and I had it towed to yet another GMC dealership. This time I was told that the bearings, piston rings and lifters were all to blame and the car needed a new engine. Of course, now the car is out of warranty. GMC needs to remedy the engine issues in the 2021 models. There are MANY reports of this happening with this engine.

While on a red light and foot on the break, the car turned off completely and would not turn back on after many tries. Truck was towed but mechanic did not find any issues with vehicle as he turned it on with no issues. All lights flashed and indicated battery was low but was not warned prior. The previous week, the truck shut off completely as well but it turned on quickly.

On 9/23/2024, I was driving my 2021 GMC Yukon Denali down the road, when the Engine seemed to lose power, and the accelerator no longer worked. There were no indications of any errors or alarms on the Dash, and all functions on the interior of the Cabin showed as normal. The vehicle switched into Neutral, and the engine shut off and I was unable to control or accelerate. This is a extremely serious situation and extremely dangerous in terms of Safety.

Driving on highway and engine cut off with no warning. No dash lights to show a warning. 3321 miles on engine. The vehicle was unable to be put in neutral for the police to push it out of the highway. Three Moncks Corner police cars surrounded the vehicle to maintain safety. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. Needed a new engine and cooling system. The engine and cooling system were both replaced.

Serious Safety Issue: While driving in the Rain, with the wipers on (actively working), randomly they will stop working. They will not work again until 10-15 minutes of time has passed. Any alternative setting makes no difference. During the 10-15 minutes of non-working wipers, there is nothing the driver can do…. Except wait. Depending where and when this occurs, this could be a deadly safety issue. I’ve checked the fuse; Turned off the rain auto-sensing feature – yet the vehicle is scary to drive in the rain, not knowing if / when the wipers may stop working again. During my ownership of this vehicle, this has happened three times; of course you must be driving during rain for the issue to occur.

The dealer claims it was a faulty battery. Said it had a short in it. I have the battery and it can be inspected. I firmly believe it was software related. I was driving and the vehicle completely shut off while driving. I was unable to steer, restart, use the power assisted brakes, or navigate to a safe area. I was unable to restart the vehicle and it had to be towed. The problem was never reproduced and has not occurred again. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer. All possible warning lights came on the dash and display. The radio and Bluetooth still worked.

The servicing dealer identified a faulty injector wiring harness. A national backorder caused a delay in repair. I do not have the part. The dealer retained. I was driving at highway speeds on the interstate and every possible warning light came on the dash. "Service ESC" "Service Traction Control", Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care", "Forward Collision System Unavailable", "Service Emmision System" At this point, I experienced a loss of power and acceleration, and the vehicle would shake violently when I applied the accelerator pedal. There was no indication of any failure prior to the failure.

- #11613262September 7, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
1 Adaptive cruise stopped me several times for no reason as there was nothing on the interstate and the weather was clear. This was very jarring at 80 miles per hour on the interstate created a hazardous and dangerous driving condition as cars were all around, almost was rear-ended. 1a Adaptive cruise started all the sudden when I was stopped at an intersection almost caused a wreck, as soon as I took my foot off the break it speed up, but I was able to veer off and break several more times. The adaptive cruise should automatically go off when the brakes are applied. 1b Cruise control will not activate sometimes (it is intermittent). 2 Sensors do not work properly and do not go off to warn if I have driven to close to something, this has happened several times after I became aware of it and after front bumper was damaged. 2 Garage door opener works sometimes, this means I have to get out unlock the house go shut the garage door and relock the house... very unsettling. 3 Android Auto goes out continuously and will not reconnect even though the maps are still on my phone and everything is setup correctly. This also creates a hazardous condition when driving on the highway in unfamiliar areas causing me to miss turns and unable to navigate through traffic. 4 Seat, adjustable setting does not work when entering the vehicle, only upon exit. 5 Mirrors do not automatically fold when parking the vehicle as they did when I purchased the GMC. 6 Rearview camera doesn't turn off automatically after reverse parking has to be done manually while driving. There are so many issues with this vehicle. I have serious concerns with the safety of this Yukon. I have filed a lemon law with GM on the Yukon. The GM representative Lied in the abrtration stating there was a recall that would fix these issues....The dealer was notified within a week of the purchase but had me wait until GM had a software fix.... They stated the software update should take care of all the issue

[XXX] on [XXX] Yukon stalled mid-drive as we exited [XXX] toward [XXX] . This is the SECOND stall on this Yukon. I had reported the first stall on June 04-2024 [11594097]. This time it would not start at all, and locked into P. There was a strange noise coming from the engine when we were on [XXX].We were going 65mph. My husband told me to start recording a video so that we can capture the noise, within 1-min as we started to exit on [XXX] towards Wake Forest, the sound was getting louder, the car started shaking as we started to slow down towards the entrance to [XXX], the engine cut-off. It smelled like burning, there was no smoke but the smell was strong. It would not start after multiple attempts, it would not shift it locked on P. At this point, the ENGINE LIGHT went on! Electric was still on, air conditioning turned off, no messages on the dashboard. The only warning was a metal like rubbing coming from the engine. I will upload this 16-min video to TikTok as a multipart series, since my multiple complaints have been falling on deaf ears! We called Gm Roadside for a tow, they said to call 911. We called 911 about 4 times and they did not have anyone to come. Gm roadside assistance could not get AAA to come until 9:45pm. AAA called us around 9:40 informing us that the available tow cannot move this Yukon because it would not shift gear to N and it will require a specific tow truck. We called back GM roadside about 5 times, just run around with no solution and a lot of attitude and lack of concern! Finally the Raleigh police Supervisor arrived, minutes later a State trooper offered assistance. They wanted the car off the road, GM was still on the phone and put them on speaker with the officer. Finally the office requested their tow as GM FAILED to get a compatible tow truck, we paid out of pocket, CASH! The Police drove us home around 11:30pm! GM DID not have contracted equipment for their OWN Trucks! New lows for GM! Incredible! POST COVID INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (

While driving at 60 mpg on a major highway vehicle began decelerating itself and eventually stalled. Driver was able to pull to the side of the road in a turning lane. Private mechanic found code that fuel pump control module failed. After the failure vehicle could not be put into neutral and had to be towed back to residence by a tow truck. Check engine warning light did not appear until vehicle stalled.

1. Fuel pump control mod 2. my car gave me only a second warning before it shut down entirely. I was somehow able to get to the side of the road. no car going to the car 3. It was replaced at an independent service station. They called GMC dealership for assistance on diagnosis. Dealership said this is happening 4. No warning lights at all. No car trouble at all. Car is fully up to date on maintenance This is only a 2021 car with such low mileage you expect to a car to run properly if well maintained. I called the GMC dealership and spoke to the Service manager and he just said that these things happen. Cars are complicated these days. I found that unacceptable since I could have been killed if someone was directly behind me and I could not get to safety. I spent $416 to get towed from a NJ towing company since AAA is not allowed to tow me on the Garden State parkway. . I spent $165 to get to Philadelphia to catch my flight since I did not have a car. I hope that this major shutdown of this car can be addressed and the answer is not just that cars are complicated these days. Thank you.
