In April 2025, we purchased a new GMC Denali Sierra 1500 Ultimate pickup truck. Concerns – Many of these comments appear in the Dealer Service Reports 1st Service Visit 10/17/25 At our first oil change and scheduled maintenance (10/17/25) with mileage of 5403 miles, during the drop-off I informed the GM Service Advisor of a clicking sound from the engine which I thought might be a fan belt. When I picked up the truck from Service, the Service Adviser informed me that upon startup, a “clatter” type noise was heard, “reminiscent of bad lifters.” The Service Adviser reported that during the mechanic’s test drive, the “clicking noise would get louder with engine speed.” No trouble codes were found after being checked by the MDI. They checked for misfires and a few misfires were found but “not often. At “idle” during this service call, the Left Engine Bank had a “good click/metallic tap to it.” “When the idle was raised, the Right Bank would get loud and had a loud tapping sound.” The oil change did not show any visible metal particles. The GM Service Department recommended a “complete tear-down of the engine for further inspection,” tentatively scheduled in a few weeks, pending Service availability. The Service Adviser stated he would recommend an engine replacement. 2nd Service Visit 10/27/2025 While driving the truck, I noticed that the engine “ticking” had gotten louder, and a Check Engine light had gone on and off. I returned to the Service Department on 10/27/25 (mileage 5807). The Service Department inspected the vehicle and found no “stored DCTS” but found “noise is there for internal engine noise.” The team recommended “tear-down or possible new engine.” Service appointment was set for 11/3/2025 for 5-days. 3rd Service Visit 11/3-7/2025 Service department reported that there were no problems. Vehicle was not under recall..... Scheduling a oil change this week. 14,500 miles.

I was driving and my truck shut down on me while I was driving down the road, I had to get it towed to the dealership where it was confirmed that the motor would need to be replaced. There was no warning, it just turned off and luckily I was able to coast to a safe area to wait for the tow truck.

My vehicle fits Special Coverage N252508341in every way, except the dealership tells me that my VIN is not covered. I drive a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 with approximately 61,000 miles. This weekend a Check Engine Light illuminated with P1010 code. All the symptoms described in Special Coverage N252508341 were exhibited: the vehicle displayed 'Engine Power Reduced', and the electric cooling fans began operating at full output. I have taken the vehicle to Cronin GMC here in Perrysburg and it has been diagnosed with Coolant Control Valve failure that requires replacement. They state that my VIN is not covered by Special Coverage N252508341 and that I must pay full price for the replacement. I am writing to extend this coverage to my vehicle so I can either receive a no-charge repair or seek reimbursement after I pay for the service.

I am writing to formally request that General Motors repurchase my 2026 GMC Sierra 1500, currently with approximately 9,445 miles, due to a serious and unresolved mechanical defect that poses a significant safety risk. Since purchasing this vehicle, I have experienced four separate incidents involving a complete and unexpected loss of engine power, causing the truck to become inoperable. In each instance, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and came to a stop without warning. While three of these events occurred while operating the vehicle near my residence, one incident occurred while I was attempting to merge onto a highway. Fortunately, traffic conditions at the time prevented a collision or serious injury. However, the sudden loss of power while entering a highway created an extremely dangerous situation and exposed both myself and other motorists to substantial risk. The vehicle has now been at the selling dealership for nearly one month while technicians attempt to diagnose and repair the issue. To date, I have not been provided with a definitive root cause or a permanent corrective action. The lack of resolution, combined with the recurring nature of the defect, has resulted in a complete loss of confidence in the vehicle's safety and reliability. My concerns are heightened by information suggesting that similar issues may have been experienced by owners of comparable GMC Sierra vehicles. Regardless of the ultimate root cause, the fact remains that my truck has repeatedly exhibited a condition that can unexpectedly disable the vehicle while in motion, creating an unacceptable safety hazard. I purchased this truck with the expectation that it would provide safe, dependable transportation. Unfortunately, after four loss-of-power events and an extended period in the repair facility without a successful resolution, I no longer believe this vehicle can safely fulfill that purpose.

I was driving my truck (2019 GMC Sierra 5.3L) while pulling a travel trailer to go camping. As I was getting onto the interstate, without any prior warning, all at once the truck began to shake, make a concerning noise, and various warning lights began displaying on the driver information panel. I pulled the truck off as safely as possible and had the truck towed to a GM Dealer for service. After investigating the engine, the service department informed me that an exhaust lifter failed, camshaft lobe was damaged, and a cylinder wall was scored resulting in the engine having to be replaced. As this happened while on the interstate with many other passenger vehicles and semis around us, and with the added component of pulling a travel trailer in the moment, my family and myself were in danger of oncoming high speed traffic while getting the hindered truck off of the road, sitting waiting for a tow truck to come, having to unhook the trailer on the side of the interstate and re-hook it up to another truck, and transferring my wife, kids, and myself to another vehicle.

Headlights are prone to get water in which shorts out a module and loss of headlight. Happened tonight while driving in the dark. Flickering occured in the driver side as the passenger side failed a few nights ago. Seeing a trend online of others having the same problem. Loss of lighting at night is a severe risk of driving at high speeds

Service light came on because the brake petal would push back when I tried to start it. At times, I had to push down all the way almost to the floor and then it would start. If I eased up slightly or did not push all the way, the truck would hesitate to start. I brought it in to Courtesy GMC of [XXX]. They found metal debris in oil. The car warranty did not want to replace the entire engine as General Motors' bulletin had stated as a corrective solution. They only wanted to replace the camshaft and rocker arms because [XXX] did not tear down the engine to the point of failure. [XXX] stated that they did. After going back and forth with EasyCare (myself and [XXX]) I authorized the repairs EasyCare suggested. XXX, a Service Brake Assist message came on. I brought it to [XXX]. They rectified the issue. XXX,Truck stalled getting off XXX at light. Truck kept turning on and off. I put it in park and was able to turn in on. As I was driving the truck was rocking back and forth as I pressed the gas pedal. I was able to pull into the Super1 Foods parking lot. Trucked stalled halfway into parking lot. After two attempts to turn off and start truck I was able to pull it up all the way to ensure safety. Texted [XXX] at Courtesy. I called the number he sent and a tow truck from Cliff’s Towing and Recovery, LLC retrieved my truck and brought it to Courtesy GMC in [XXX] where it is currently residing. This report shows 4 more new attempts to repair the drop in power, bucking, surging, and lurching that my truck has been doing since May 2026, after the L87 Engine replacement. This issue has caused me to come very close to rear ending a few vehicles, including a Deer Park police officer. It has caused me to run through red lights unexpectedly. The vehicle has had a case open with GM Corp. Customer Care, Case(s) 95259917 (OLD), Case # 108994166 current case (Phone, Instagram). The problems are dangerous because the truck can begin shutting down and feel as if its stopping due to being stuck between gears or maybe torque converter. It happens on the highway at different speeds. It happens in city, stop and go traffic. The lunging forward comes into play with no prior warning. No lights, no messages on the instrument cluster. The dealer had me come in and drive the vehicle to show one of the managers what is happening while I am commuting. It has been confirmed EVERYTIME I was told there is no problem. I am attaching the latest work orders related to the issues after the engine replacement. For the past 6 months this truck is in the shop or stuck in my driveway more than it is driven or used. It is medically necessary that I have transportation available 24/7. I am under the care of several specialists since I was diagnosed and treatment for cancer began. Notice there are TWO work orders NUMBERED "63481" They are attached. ONE the third attempt dated (8-28-26) printed when i picked it up my ADAS was replaced and it has AVISRentCar, I paid for. Second "63481" forth attempt dated (9-15-26) printed when i picked it up after a Transmission relearn AGAIN (duplicate W.O. #) This one has Enterprise Rental I paid for. Now a FIFTH attempt to repair the same issue (9/21-9/29) This time they replaced the transmission valve body. Now, the truck is in the shop AGAIN, a Sixth time for the same problem. No issues found. I tested it again to show them. I am also attaching FTC report

The vehicle failed to start. It started after 30 minutes and I was able to drive it home. Then it starts and stalls after multiple attempts. Receiving codes P1177 and UI8A2. Was told that a bulletin exists for this issue on GM vehicles, GM Bulletin 24-NA-139, but I found out that it don't cover my VIN number. This can cause the vehicle to stall or shut off while driving. GM should make this bulletin for all vehicles of certain years who carry this modules.

- #11771771October 17, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The infotainment system inadvertently shuts down and restarts which creates a unsafe situations while using the navigation system, backing up using the backup camera and while trailering. In a 30 mile drive it might do it 10 times and it might do it 30 times and eventually it doesnt restart until the vehicle is shut off. Each time it does it, it starts with the screen locking up which has resulted in me backing into my boat trailer 3 times while backing up to put the trailer on the hitch and numerous near misses with pedestrians and other vehicles in parking lots. Research on the internet indicates it is a known issue across several GMC platforms and has been since 2016. I took my truck to the dealer, they did a software update which was unsuccessful, then they did a global reset, charged me $240.00 and told me it was fixed. It shutdown 2 times before I got out of their parking lot.

[XXX] General Motors Company P.O. Box 33170 Detroit, MI 48232-5170 c/o Franklin, Customer Support Re: Formal Demand for Buyback – 2020 GMC Sierra AT4 Black Widow VIN: [XXX] | 6.2L Engine Recall ~ 25V-274. Plus ~ GM 10-Speed Transmission, Multiple Recalls Dear GMC Legal, I am providing written notice as required by 15 U.S.C. §2310 and New York State Lemon Law. This vehicle substantially impairs the safety, use, and value of my truck, and I am requesting a full buyback. The Facts: On [XXX], the vehicle was taken out of service and remained at the shop for 11 weeks. It was returned with yellow marking paint splattered on the exterior, floor mats, and brake pedal. On [XXX] — with fewer than 400 miles on the replacement engine — the engine and/or transmission suddenly shut off at 55 mph on [XXX]. It restarted with a violent boom, then cycled between shutting off and restarting with loud clacking and shaking for the remainder of the drive. I was forced to drive at 25 mph with hazard lights to reach home. The Legal Basis: This is a safety defect on a vehicle subject to Recall 25V-274. GM was on notice of this known, concealed defect. The vehicle has been out of service for 30+ cumulative days. I have been denied a reasonable opportunity to cure. The vehicle has caused me severe and ongoing psychological distress, imminent and uncontrolled danger to my life, and total and continuing loss of use for its fundamental purpose. My Demand: 1.Full buyback under New York State Lemon Law — full purchase price, loan payoff, taxes, registration, and all incidental and consequential damages. 2.$5,000 additional compensation for the safety hazard and loss of use. 3.Attorney's fees and costs under 15 U.S.C. §2310(d)(2). I reserve all rights under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, New York State Lemon Law, and all applicable consumer protection statutes. Please respond in writing within 10 business days. A 6.2 engine operated as expected for 75,000 miles. I turned a corner at an intersection, and had a loud knocking in the engine occur. For the first 75,000 miles, there wasn't any unusual engine noises or oil consumption.Seconds later the engine light illuminated on the dash, reduced engine power, and every safety light within the dash was going on and off. I managed to drive slow and return to my residence and have the truck towed to the dealership to have the engine replaced. As many have learned, the recall from GM states to either pass a PICO test and change to 0W-40, or have the engine replaced if necessary. My concern is that the replacement engine is the exact same engine with the exact same components that assuredly will fail due improper design, production, and overlooked components that attribute to such failure. The crankshafts are being found to have values of "peaks and troughs" within the finish that are many times out of given specifications. The extraneous pressures created by the Dynamic Fuel management system over time are creating stresses and friction that the designated oil and oil pump are not compensating for. These mechanical stresses over different durations, seem to be part of the cause of the engines failure. The replacement engine came with a warranty that only extends to an odometer reading of 150,000 miles. I no longer have confidence in a manufacturer that is enforcing false resolve upon a customer as a solution. The new engines of replacement have been failing as well. This result exhibits a fact that shouldn't be ignored. The new engines have the same components and are due to fail, just the same as the original. I would like the manufacturer to resolve this failure by offering a "true" solution. A proven remedy and a documented warranty that assures the manufacturer stands behind the product. GM sells a new product that fails and then recalls the engines to replace with the same failed components and lack of warranty.

VEHICLE STARTED RUNNING VERY ROUGH & DISPLAYING ERROR CODES FOR "STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED", "SERVICE PARKING BRAKE", AND "SERVICE ESC". WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE IT WOULD ACCELERATE & DECCELRATE ON ITS OWN. LIMPED THE TRUCK TO OUR LOCAL REPUTABLE MECHANIC WHO RAN TESTS & DETERMINED IT AS AN ISSUE WITH THE LIFTERS. IT IS KNOWN GM IS CURRENTLY HAVING ISSUES WITH THE 6.2L V8 ENGINES. CLEARLY THIS ISSUE IS WIDER SPREAD THAN THE CURRENT FEW YEARS THEY ARE ADMITTING TO. WE ARE HAVING TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE INSTALLED AT OUR EXPENSE.
