While braking ( after being on the highway) all dash gauges turn black, radio shuts off, AC shuts off. Service Stabilitrak light comes on when dash flashes back on. While driving AC turns off, Radio turns off same stabilitrak warning flashes, speedometer turns off. Power steer control went out while trying to turn. Truck put itself in 4 wheel drive when I turned on the trailer assist. Parking assist periodically turns itself off.

The contact owned a 2022 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle that ran a red light. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. No injuries were reported, but the contact and her husband sought medical treatment for various bruises caused by the seat belt at a later date. The lifter valves for the dynamic fuel management system have failed twice resulting in an immediate loss of power, rough driving, and low speed. To replace the first time, it cost $3500 at a mechanic. The 2nd time that it happened (8 months later), we now have to have the engine replaced and it cost almost $10,000. GM has refused to take any ownership in these faulty lift valves and someone is going to lose control of their vehicle when this occurs.

Driving home in the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500, when the error message came up to Service Power Steering. A short time later also had messages for ESC, Restraint System, and Trail Brakes error messages. Then lost all electric power assist on the power steering, and truck almost impossible to turn without extreme effort. Took to dealer and they had truck for almost 2 weeks and said they couldn't replicate the problem. Within 24 hours of getting it back I had the exact same problem, with total loss of power steering assist. Parked truck for approx an hour, and it reset and was functioning normally again. Short time later got the Service Power Steering message again, but didn't lose power steering this time before the computer evidently reset. Major safety issue because if this happens while taking a turn or something at high speeds, I'll be in a ditch or lose control into another lane. Based on research, this has been happening with GM vehicles for a while now, but GM doesn't have any recall on these models, so dealer tells me there is nothing they can do.

- #11538172August 13, 2023SERVICE BRAKES
While parking in San Francisco after driving for about 100 miles, the brakes felt they had lost all power, the pedal was pressed down to the floor and caused the braking distance to increase drastically. There was a fence post to the left of my truck. So I was going to go forward a little then back up and straighten out to pull forward and finish parking. Going slow 3-5MPH I pressed the brake and the truck kept going forward, I felt a shake from the brake pedal and then no pressure, straight to the floor, then the brake pedal didn’t return up. i kept pressing/pumping the brake pedal but still felt like there was no power at all. When you released the brake pedal the pedal would not return to the top like normal. So the truck would not stop, it felt like forever, but when the truck did stop it had just come to rest on the fence post left of me, causing a small dent on the, rear passenger, driver side door. This was really scary because I was parking on a ocean pier and I though I was going to go into the fence in front of me and then into the water. I know now that that was most likely not going to happen because of the low speed I was going at but non the less SUPER SCARY. So now I have a dent on my truck and I am also scared to drive the truck because the brakes might not work when I need them too.

Reference your GM/Chevy recall NHTSA [XXX] , I have a 2020 GMC truck with a failed Fuel Pump Control Module, same part/same part number used in the SUVs. Are you going to recall the trucks also. Lucky for me, mine failed as I pulled into my drive way. Had to have my truck towed to the dealership, 2 days later informed my FPCM was bad, and of course there are no replacement part available. --Unwanted Reduction in The Front HVAC Blower Speed and Loss of Radio, Auto AC not working as designed --driver seat vibrating as the lane departure warning activated; I had turned the seat vibrate function off on 25 June 2023. I then went into settings to turn the function off again, and the system would not allow to make the change, it stayed in vibrate function --the passenger front window will not go up automatically, had to hold the button to make the window go up all the way. I then had a message in the DIC, that said, “Open and close passenger door”. I did so, at the next stop, but the message stayed on the DIC and the window still would not go up automatically with the button -- when the vehicle is operated and the AC is NOT on, just the fan, and windows down, and the auto temp set at 68 degrees, when at idle, there is an obvious increase in very hot air coming from the vents and stays that way until the vehicle is back in motion. Then it seems to adjust back toward normal outside air. During all this operation the recirculation is open to outside air --auto rain sensing windshield wipers; stops at full arc and hesitates during operation --driver side review mirror does not go back to preset 1 position, when put in reverse, both mirrors tilt lower, as I have set, but when put back into drive, the driver mirror does not fully recover until I push the 1 setting --DIC message of key not in vehicle, even when the key is in vehicle and vehicle is in motion, the DIC message stays on screen saying key not in vehicle --with AC in ON position, cold air stops and very warm/hot air starts coming out for about 30-60 seconds, then cold air starts coming out again, happens during driving and stopped, at any speed --Truck WIFI does not connect automatically SOFTWARE NOT UPDATED FROM GM- OTHER SAFETY ITEMS ARE AFFECTED --Auto headlights --Auto brakes --Auto wipers --Auto systems not working as designed

Transmission was shuddering and slipping and then completely went out. Would not engage any of the gears. This happened while driving through the mountains without towing anything. My family and others on the mountain were at risk since the transmission was slipping out of gear and no safe place to pull over. It had to be towed to a dealer and they confirmed the transmission was toast and they replaced it, of course not under warranty. $800 tow bill and $6.893.98 to replace the transmission at a GM Dealer...Also, had to get a rental car ($318).

Transmission slipping in and out of gear. Transmission was serviced 5,000 miles previous to this for the 100,000 mile service at 95,000 miles. No issues were found at the time of service, now truck will slip out of gear on highways without warning. Transmission fluid is not dirty or burnt. Common reported issue according to online discussions and GMC needs to recall this model transmission

Like so many others, I have persistent transmission or drive train problems in my 2017 GMC Sierra. This has been documented on multiple visits and test drives with the dealer where I purchased the vehicle and to another GMC dealer. The first occurrence was after about 4,000 miles. A loud clunk sound occasionally occurs while shifting thru low gears and the transmission shifts very hard. To the point that the transmission hesitates between gears and then jerks me back into the seat. The selling dealer has witnessed this and tried various repairs (supposedly flushed and replaced the fluid, supposedly replaced an unknown computer component, etc). None of this helped. Now the transmission also hesitates and seems to slip during a downshift thru the low gears. The selling dealer finally told me "nothing is wrong with this truck, so don't bring it back again". I assured them that I would never be back, especially when I'm in the market for a new truck. GM should take note of this, also. Online websites show many posts of owners having this issue. And neither the dealers nor GM are even acknowledging a problem, let alone offering a solution. Unfortunately for me and many others, the value of this vehicle is impacted by so many complaints, no action by NHTSA and questionable practices by GM and their dealers. Buyers beware!!! The transmission in this truck is junk and you won't receive any assistance from GM or its dealers. The only hope for owners of this truck is for NHTSA to step up, launch an investigation and require a recall. This a known issue to owners of this truck, GM, its dealers and the NHTSA. It's time for all of them to step up and do what's right for consumers.

After having simple oil and filter, and engine and cabin filter replaced at Alpine Buick GMC in Colorado Springs, CO, I received my vehicle back and noticed a complete difference in performance. It hesitates when accelerating, stays low in every gear, and bounces, and I mean bounces hard, when shifting gears, especially slowing down. When slowing down, as it shifts to the next lower gear, it almost pushes the truck forward against me pushing the breaks. Then, when feathering to accelerate slowly, it almost bounces back up to speed, hesitating until I let off the accelerator pedal a little, and it immediately shifts to about 1000 rpm in gear. I have to push really hard for it to go up a gear, and when it does, it has lost all power. My vehicle doesn’t run right anymore after my service appt. I have brought it to my hometown dealership and they say it runs fine and nothings wrong. But there is something wrong with it.

While towing our RV trailer the trailer brakes become disabled. This is a known problem to GM and they have a TSB (23-NA-113) "Information on Trailer Brake Disabled or DTC Stored" This is a know problem and GM solution seems to cast the blame on the trailer manufacture.
