The coolant control valve on my truck is causing issues. From doing research, this is an ongoing issue with the 3.0 duramax. The part is on nationwide backorder and I cannot drive my vehicle in reduced engine power because the only way I can get to work is by taking the interstate. It is madness that GM has not issued a recall or done anything to rectify this issue. Many GMC owners are paying on vehicles that they are unable to drive which is assanine. This part needs to be readily available due to the NUMEROUS complaints that have already been submitted in regards to this part.

The engine failed while pulling my camper over a mountain pass. This resulted in me being stranded along side the highway with the vehicle impeding traffic. The area the vehicle broke down had no cell phone service to call for help. This engine was a replacement engine and failed with only 20,000 miles. This vehicle is effected by the recent recall the GM issued on all 6.2L engines. The were not indications the engine was going to fail.

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The abnormal sound ceased once the vehicle had accelerated; however, the abnormal sound returned while the vehicle was idling. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ball bearing caused a misfire, and two cam lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact picked up the vehicle and on the way home, the engine failed. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer. The technician test drove the vehicle with the contact as a passenger, and the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was informed that the engine failed and needed to be replaced along with the fuel body system. The contact was informed that as per GMC, the oil needed to be changed to an oil with a thicker viscosity. The fuel body was replaced, and the oil was changed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered the contact an amended warranty. The contact was informed that GMC had elected to participate in the procedures under the Song Beverly Act. After 1-year to date of the first time the engine seized up in 2024 and was replaced with another motor. Then around father's day weekend I went to accelerate on highway and it studder and service symbols for traction control and ESC service popped up. It shook and vibrated while running. The same dealership shop that replaced it last year stated that rods and such have failed. After not resetting the mileage on the dash board for the miles on the truck or extending the warranty on the AT4 2023 model I was skeptical as it ran rough to begin with. I was told that everything is as should be when talking to them in Jan/Feb 2025. Now we're here at the shop AGAIN. the Mechanic at the dealership the first time stated that he mentioned to the manufacturer that the issues he is seeing is tied to the motor and oil transferring and he is not surprised there are the issues but the manufacturer shrugged it off. So, after having the vehicle in my possession for 2 years, I'm having the motor replaced twice in one calendar year and without a vehicle combined and counting 2.5+ months. GMC knew about the issues and decided not to address them. I loved the truck but there were too many issues and it was my first GMC and will be my LAST. I WAS a big Chevy guy most of my life.. Now I'm considering a RAM..

Dealership is unable to remedy issue stated on recall notice in a timely manner, I stopped by today and they told me they can’t do it right now and they have no idea when they will be able to so in the meantime drive it, to which I stated just drive it and if the engine fails on me then oh well? And they said yes there’s nothing we can do right now. Ridiculous putting my family’s safety at risk if the engine fails and they won’t even do the inspections

Catastrophic transmission failure. Original transmission failed at 113,00 miles. I replaced it at the dealership with a factory rebuilt transmission and that transmission failed after only 40,000 miles. Now the vehicle is back in the dealership shop and they want me to replace the transmission a third time. This transmission is the 6L80 which is prone to fail, the torque converter fails and the transmission locks up I contacted General Motors and filed a complaint with them and they said they would not take any action or assist me with the repair.

- #11671424July 6, 2025TIRES:TREAD/BELT
The tire Goodyear LT275/65R20 are the original tires on the truck when purchased. The tires have been rotated and balanced at the dealership routinely, approximately 42,000 miles on the set. On [XXX], I was travelling [XXX] here in NC when I felt a bump as if I had hit something in the road. I pulled off to the shoulder to inspect for damage or a flat tire. The left rear tire had completely lost its tread, only the steel belts were showing. Thus caused significant damage to the fender and tailgate of the truck. The tire remained inflated. Another driver pulled over in front of me and stated that the separated part had damaged his car. The NC State patrol was called and a report made for insurance. No one was injured to my knowledge. I changed the tire and was able to complete my trip. This could have caused a serious problem with a very serious accident. Fortunately, no one was injured. There were no warning that this might happen. I have sent pictures of the damage to my truck to the insurance company. This makes me very uneasy about these tires, I may need to purchase an entirely new set of tires from another manufacturer. I am not sure Goodyear is a decent brand of tire. The police report number is [XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I'm experiencing constant transmission shuddering at constant speed between 25 and 40 mph. This is a know issue, General Motors known issue, with the 8 speed transmission installed in this vehicle. TSB 18-NA-355 was issued in August of 2019 for this issue, but general motors refuses to recall all affected vehicles. Something needs to be done about this!

Driving on the highway under normal driving condition, my check engine light came on and said service transmission. This then put the truck into "limp mode" and I was stuck going 60mph in a 75mph zone. Dealership scanned and found that the coolant sensor control flow valve is faulty. This part is in such demand for these vehicles that it is unknown when the part will be in.

Vehicle's 10 speed transmission on numerous occasions has locked the wheels at high rates of speed on the highway, causing the vehicle to veer across several lanes and almost crash. Vehicle will not always engage in drive selection causing a filed accident while trying to go from reverse to drive.

On June 19th, 2025, I was driving to work when my truck began to lose power, and the check engine light came on. The error on the display is Loss of Engine Power. I took it immediately to Oreilly's so they could run the free engine light check. When they got the report, the employee was amazed that there were over 45 problem codes showing up. As I drive the vehicle there is a pull back from the engine before it starts to pick up speed. On braking as well there is a little kickback before it comes to stop. It takes more foot pressure to pick up speed. The Truck using up more fuel because of this issue. I took the truck to a local certified mechanic, and he ran the diagnostics as well and it came up with the over 45 problem codes as well. His recommendation unfortunately was to take into the dealership so they could check it and see if they have a solution for this engine malfunction and error codes.
