I was driving and all of a sudden I lost acceleration in the middle of an intersection. My truck had no gears and gave me zero indication there was an issue. I then was told Ford has a newly designed part that fixes the issue and I would have to pay $7500. How does a manufacturer knowingly sell such a dangerous product, and not have a recall for that product after updating a faulty design?

- #11705968December 18, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The ACM (Audio Control Module) failed, causing a network failure in the CAN system. This caused a condition of no speedometer reading, no automatic braking, no adaptive cruise control, no fuel gauge reading, no blind spot monitoring, no forward collision, no rear cross traffic warning. Additionally, while the turn signals worked, there was no inside audio or visual confirmation that it was functioning. Also no high beam headlight indicator and no automatic high-low beams. Cost of repair was $739.00 and the dealer had to order the part.

We where driving down the PA Turnpike Pike when the transmission began to shift between 8 and 9th gears. A wrench icon turned on. I pulled over and the transmission stayed stuck in 9th gear even when parked. I turned off the truck and opened the door which turned the ignition off. When I opened the door I heard a click from the transmission. Turned the truck back on and it ran normal and the wrench went away. I use a code reader at all times and was able to record the code. This occurred while overtaking another car and almost caused a multi car and semi accident.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle hesitated, with an abnormal sound coming from the transmission. The contact stated that the vehicle functioned as intended afterwards. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving at 65 MPH, the yellow wrench warning light illuminated, and the RPMs fluctuated; however, the vehicle failed to move, and the vehicle stalled. The contact turned on the hazard lights and coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

Loss of power/accelleration. Multiple times. Issue has always occurred when turning left quickly then trying to accellerate. to make the immediate uphill. The accellerator goes dead for 3-4 seconds, then works. Engine RPM does not speed up when commanded, but then does after several seconds. By then it has been pushed to the floor attempting to make it over the upcoming hill. This is going to cause an accident, especially when pavement is slick, then truck quickly responds to the pedal position. The truck displays no codes or lights. Dealer says they have no idea what it could be. There are multiple reports on [XXX] . [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving my 2022 Ford Ranger, the transmission failed to engage Drive. I started my morning as usual, letting the vehicle warm up and the RPMs settle before leaving my neighborhood. As I pulled onto the main road, the truck began acting strangely—I noticed it wasn’t accelerating normally and felt constant gear shifting without gaining speed. To avoid blocking traffic, I pulled over at a local store and shifted into Park. When I tried to shift back into Drive, the transmission would not engage. Pressing the gas felt like the truck was in Neutral. I turned the vehicle off for about a minute and restarted it, but the same issue occurred. I then called my local dealer, who suggested using Sport mode and manually selecting gear 2. This worked, and I was able to drive home safely since I was only about a minute away. After that, I contacted the warranty company and arranged for a tow. Component/System: Transmission Safety Risk: Loss of acceleration on a main road created a risk of collision with other vehicles. Reproduced/Confirmed: UNKNOWN until December 15th if the issue has been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer. Inspection: Dealer is scheduled to inspect the vehicle on December 15. Warning Lamps/Messages: None appeared prior to the failure. None After. Until repairs are completed, I am without a vehicle and will only be reimbursed for a rental while repairs are worked on

- #11702371December 1, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I purchased a Ford Ranger truck with an EPA/NHTSA fuel economy label stating 20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, 22 mpg combined. In reality, despite proper maintenance, the vehicle achieves only 16.26 mpg combined and as low as 14.72 mpg in city. While I understand fuel economy varies, this discrepancy is significant and may pose safety concerns. I relied on accurate fuel economy estimates to plan trips and refueling. This overstated MPG has lead me to unexpected fuel depletion, and stranding me in an unsafe condition (ran out of gas on HWY 287). I request NHTSA review whether Ford’s labeling practices meet regulatory standards and whether corrective action is warranted. I have taken the Ford Ranger to two different dealerships. One, Ford Automation, Frisco, Texas, refused to investigate what might be the issue, as they stated that was normal for the Ford Ranger. The second dealership, Five Star Ford, Dallas, Texas, reported in their tests they were averaging 26.1 mpg, combined. They did not tell me how they arrived at that figure. Your site would not allow me to upload fuel receipts to prove my statements above.

- #11699839November 17, 2025ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, STRUCTURE, POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, there was a misfire coming from the engine, and the vehicle shuddered violently. The contact stated that the failure increased while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The service manager at the dealer was contacted and informed the contact that he had remote access to the DTC that was displayed after the failure had occurred. The contact verbally provided the DTC, but the information was not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that upon researching the failure online, information related to water leaking into the engine compartment while the vehicle was parked on an incline with the front end facing down, due to the design of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was routinely parked on an incline in the driveway with the front of the vehicle facing down. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.

- #11698045November 6, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The Factory Driver's Side Floor Mat does not stay snapped in. This causes the Floor Mat to slide forward towards the pedals. This causes the Floor Mat to lodge underneath the accelerator pedal, which can cause an inability to accelerate. The Fllor Mat could also lodge undermeath the brake pedal, not allowing the full use of the brakes.

- #11698044November 6, 2025UNKNOWN OR OTHER, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The boot material surrounding the parking brake bunches up and does not allow the handle to properly seat. When using the cruise control, the parking brake handle will raise up on its own, due to the boot material, causing the cruise control to abruptly disengage. This causes the vehicle to mildly to moderately deaccelerate without warning. This could cause rear end collision.

The head rest leans out so far at the top that my chin hits my chest. It doesn't matter if I try to lean the seat back of forth. Please evaluate the head rest as I believe it will cause serious injury as there is no back and forth adjustment. This can cause severe damage to the neck. You insisted on head rests for safety and I am very concerned about this. Also they are leaning the window so far back that with the sun out its impossible to see out with the reflections from the dash board showing in the window. The glare though the side drivers window is blocking me from seeing the odometer and gages. I really don't understand the use of so much computer that distracts drivers. If this is not your department send it to might be of assistance. I am talking about the 2025 ford ranger truck.
