The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Nitro. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the windows, lights, and radio would independently turn off, or on. The contact stated that occasionally while driving, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact was able to coast off the road safely. The contact stated that she then got out the vehicle to look under the hood to tap the TIPM box, which allowed her to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that she had contacted the dealer to schedule an appointment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the there was no recall on the VIN for the failure. The failure mileage was 85,648.

I have received multiple recall notices (recall W09/NHTSA 20V-396) since the recall was issued on my vehicle 20 months ago however I have been unable to get the recall completed because Dodge will not provide the parts needed to complete the repair. The notices all say that the part is available yet when my dealership tries to get the part, they are told it is out of stock with no eta as to when it will be available. This is NOT a timely manner and Dodge needs to provide the part now.

While my husband was driving home from work, the drive shaft of our vehicle completely snapped at 50mph causing him to come to a complete stop. There is a recall specially specially this on the 2008 models and after this incident we believe it should for the 2011s also.

AIR BAGS, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The wiper relays went out recently and somehow caused the door locks to beep and go crazy then die completely. And a few weeks ago the brake came undone somehow and fell into the wheel well, ripping the inside of the rim open causing a blow out while my wife, 2 year old and I were on the freeway. And now after taking it to 2 different dodge dealerships, the problems are not fixed, there is more warning lights on than I've ever seen. And so far both places have told me they fixed an emblem on the steering wheel, and that the other recalls aren't applicable because of being a 2007 and the recalls are for the 2008. Even though my nitro is obviously having the same if not worse problems. All the way down to the emergency brake not working, we love our nitro and dodge as a company and would please like some kind of help with this situation. Our vehicle is our only source of transportation and it is not safe for us to be driving, especially in the winter conditions we just got hit with here. Thank you for your help to whom this may concern. Here are some pictures of what happened with the brakes, thank the lord we were getting off the freeway when the brakes gave way, if we had been on the freeway 15 seconds more, the accident would have been fatal without question.

The vehicle windshield wiper system comes on while driving constantly. It is very distracting and definitely causes an obstruction in your visibility. It is very annoying as well. It acts as if the wiper system does not want to go in the park position on the wiper motor.

The contact's daughter owns a 2011 Dodge Nitro. The contact stated that while his daughter was starting the vehicle, the steering wheel inadvertently lost power steering functionality. Additionally, the windshield wipers remained operational after the windshield wiper button was disengaged. The contact's daughter was also unable to move the gear shifter from PARK to DRIVE. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.

I was driving down the rd and all of the sudden my truck jumps into 2nd gear and looses all power to speed up and it seems like I'm in neutral my relay box is messing up everything electrical now it shuts off at stop signs and If it keeps doing all this I'll have to replace transmission. I've already replace tipm 2 times

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Nitro. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the horn was inoperable while needed. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with rear shocks and struts, air compressor, condenser, HVAC system, and electrical system failure. The mechanic replaced the spark plugs, engine coils, air compressor, and condenser. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that they could not assist since the vehicle was purchased from a Chevrolet dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

Four total incidents of the vehicle engine shutting off while driving the car. Most recent today 12-17-21 was placed in extremely dangerous situation and was almost rear ended 5 times by other vehicles traveling at speeds greater than 55 mph. 1st instance occurred back in 2007 traveling West bound on I635 in Dallas (speed of 65mph) engine shut off, loss of power steering coasted to side of road. 2nd incident Fall 2007 - from complete stop to turn left and cross divided highway, the engine shut down right in the middle of the intersection and was nearly broadsided by oncoming car traveling at 45 mph. 3rd incident happened while driving in my neighborhood, engine shut down and loss of power to steering. Daimler Chrysler issued a recall to reprogram the TPIM module back in 2008 to address the problem. Nothing since then until today. I am the original Owner of this car and it has been well maintained and is still covered under the manufacturers warranty for as long as I own the vehicle. What has prompted me to report this problem is the fact that I could have been seriously injured. There was no warning whatsoever and the place where this took place had a blind spot as the car lost power during the climb and coasted at 2 mph down slope on a bend on the bridge. Cars traveling towards me had no visibility to my vehicle which was for all practical purposes at a stand still. I notified the Dodge Chrysler dealership of what took place and will also contact MOPAR to raise this serious problem. If a vehicle doesn't start is one thing, but to have a car loose power out of nowhere without warning has almost cost me serious harm on multiple occasions. Daimler Chrysler should do something before loss of life takes place.

I purchased a 2011 Dodge Nitro SUV in March 2021 from a dealer with all recall information. I contacted online about recall and they set-up to take this vehicle to a Dodge dealer to have required recall work done. I took this vehicle to this dealer and on this INVOICE from dealer repair it states: Recall/ CSN 1 [Safety Recall W09 – Driver Air Bag Emblem] CAUSE: F 19W09183 Safety Recall W 09 Driver Airbag Emblem – Remove Remove Driver Airbag Emblem (2 -Skilled) 997471W FC: Part#: Count: Claim Type: W AUTH CODE: Parts: 0.00Labor: 0.00Other: 0.00Total Line B:0.00 Removed DAB emblem 19 – WO -91 – 83 After this job was completed, I was told by this dealer that It might take 6 months for a replacement part to come available. I will be notified by the recall company when a new part to be place in this vehicle. Now, when I enter this same vehicle VIN it states as 0 recalls. My airbag concern light on my dash remains on and sometimes alerts me by sound! Nothing has been replaced for over 7 months and now it shows no recalls! I have both original Invoice pages from this dealer still stapled together and scanned to email if needed! My vehicle would not pass inspection if needed, because of this issue and safety concerns. I noticed a few months ago my dash lights and radio lights at night when I turn my headlights on would flicker on and off several times then stop and do it again repeated process. I never got it looked at so just the other day I was driving and my windshield wipers, my emergency flashers and my driverside window and the back passenger window was all going crazy my widows was rolling up and down my flashers was going off and my wipers wouldn't turn off so I immediately pull over fearing of causing an accident with someone due to not being able to focus on driving once I pulled over my horn started blowing like crazy it was weird so I cut the vehicle off and everything kept doing what it was doing so I popped the hood and killed the battery. I waited maybe 10 minutes and hooked the battery back up and seconds later my horn only started going crazy again so I had no option out of the safety of me and other vehicles on the road to just have it towed back to my house I have been researching it and I've come to find out that there's several others with dodge nitros that have had the same issue as me. The tipm module (fuse box) was bad. I have yet to be able to drive my vehicle as it would be very unsafe and I've not yet got it towed to the dealership to look at it for reasons of what I've seen other complaints had to say about there experience at the dealership.. there needs to be a recall on the electrical malfunction as it is a huge!!! Safety concern for everybody. Please do something about this.

My engine stalled. But only when the transmission was at park. It happened twice in 5 years and when it was raining. Also my engine struggles a bit to turn on in the morning but only in the summer time. If it’s winter car starts up with ease. But I do notice when my engine is fully warm and I shut off my car to go to a store, when I go back and turn on my car it will just crank. I have to shut it off and then turn it back on.This happens quite often. And this only happens in the winter in a fully warmed engine. Not the summer. This been happening about three years now. I’ve got it inspected but nothing is found wrong.

1. Engine light on reads gas cap . We replaced gas cap numbers times and engine light doesn’t go away. 2. Wipers not working . Water cleaning spray for windows not working front or back windows. 3. I have replaced my windows panel numerous times. The window panels keep braking and my windows stay down. Extremely annoying.
