My car turned off while I was driving and almost caused me to crash into an 18 wheeler. Thank God I turned on my emergency signal and the truck swerved!. I would of died. I was stuck in the middle of the road and luckily some passersby helped me push it into a commercial parking area. I tried to start it again and it wouldn't start. But, when I turn my key into the off position, my car tried starting by itself. It was scary. It was checked by a mechanic, prior to this happening, because the car was hard to start. The mechanic told me to find out if there is a recall. However, I did some research and there was a recall on the ignition switch and fuel pump. The ignition switch was faulty causing the car to turn off while moving and two people died as a result. I entered the VIN # and it didn't show any recalls.

Gas Line corroded near Driver rear wheel due to design of gas line bracket/shield. A bit of research finds that this is not an uncommon occurence and is solely based on the poor design of the shield. Gas leaks on driveway and smell of raw gasoline promoted the finding of this issue. It required complete replacement of gasl line and a total of over $1,000 in total cost.

You Need to Reopen the Case. Due to the FACT that GM or who made the Cobalt's, Failed to tell you that THEY PUT HEAT COIL TAPE AROUND THE GAS LINES RIGHT WHERE IT RUSTED AND GAS LEAKS. WHEN THERE COIL TAPE GETS WET WITH SALT WATER FROM THE SNOW, ITS THERE HEAT COIL WRAP THAT TRAPS AND KEEPS THE SALT WATER IN SIDE THE COIL WRAP THATS TRAPED TO THE GAS LINE.I CAN PROVE IT.I HAVE THE HEAT COIL WRAP FROM MY CAR.ITS THERE FAULT NOT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS.PERIOD.WILLING TO TAKE TO COURT WITH EVIDENCE. - [XXX] , US INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I took the vehicle in for a recall repair to the ignition. After the repair, my key did not open my trunk. This is a huge problem because the battery is located in the trunk. You need power to open the trunk without a key. If your battery fails, you have no way to access it for repairs. I e-mailed the dealer who responded by advising me to contact the service manager. I did this. The service manager told me they only rekey the ignition to the original key during a recall. If this is true, they key should unlock the trunk. We were able to unlock the trunk before the recall repairs. The service manager told me there was nothing he could do. I have e-mailed the dealer again but have recieved no answer.

My speedometer jumps and shows a message of POWER STEERING. It makes my fuel line jump as well. I've recently gotten my starter fixed because my car wouldn't start. My tire warning stays on and my tires are new and set at the right PSI. My ABS comes and goes ALL THE TIME and nothing needs to be fixed. My car jerks really hard when all of this is going on.
