General Motors has decided to conduct a Voluntary Emission Recall involving certain 2012- 2013 model year Chevrolet Caprice Police Pursuit vehicles equipped with a 6.0L V8 engine (RPO L77). The fuel pump module in these vehicles were not produced to specification and may crack. If this occurs, a fuel odor may be noticed. If the crack becomes large enough, fuel may be observed dripping underneath the vehicle when the engine is running. Dealers are to replace the fuel pump module.

Certain 2014 Chevrolet Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicles (PPV) equipped with a 3.6L V-6 (LFX) and 6-Spd Automatic Transmission (MYA) may have a condition in which the transmission oil cooler line may fracture at the connection to the transmission housing. If a fracture occurs, automatic transmission fluid may leak from the fitting. If the leak continues for some time, there may be a noticeable degradation in automatic transmission performance, and an eventual loss of the ability to engage any gear, resulting from low transmission fluid level. Dealers are to replace the automatic transmission fluid cooler line.

  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.
