ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Forward collision system has not been working properly for the past 3 years the car has been in for service for this problem the last time was March 1st 2023. I nearly had 3 accidents due to the system not working. The last contact was Holman Cadillac I was told by the service manager he would set up appt with the factory service rep and he has not gotten back to me by today's date June 12th 2023. Looking forward to hearing from someone about this problem I feel I am getting the runaround! Thank you [XXX] [XXX] [XXX]. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
THE MAJOR COMPONENT OF THIS CAR IS THE CUE SCREEN. THE CUE SCREEN IS CONNECTED TO THE ABILITY TO DEFROST AND COOLING/HEATING SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY, THE CUE SCREEN IS FROZEN AND THE OPERATIONS OF VARIES SYSTEMS ARE AT A HALT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES. CURRENTLY DUE TO LEATHER SEATS UNABLE TO COOL IN EXTREME HEAT AND HAVE HAD SOME MINOR BURNS ALSO, THE COOLING SYSYEM IS NOT WORKING DUE TO THE FREEZING OF THE CUE SCREEN, THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS MATTER SINCE 2013. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE FOR SAFETY.

POWER TRAIN
Please note GM PIP5146A...Chatter or Bind Feel on turns... AKA transmission shudder. According to Cadillac dealer in Durham, NC. The car needs it's rear differential replaced; 90,000 miles.. That is happening now. Ally, the extended warranty company, sent a technician to inspect the part. I don't know if the original part is still available. I 1st noticed the problem in Fall 2019. Shop invoice, 62,187miles, reflects differential fluid & filter change which temporarily, partially mitigated the problem for a few years. It never disappeared. I am not sure what the worse case safety scenario is. I never let it get that far.

SUSPENSION
Front right passenger side suspension slams hard on the ground while driving at times. It has occurred multiple times and this can be dangerous while driving. It has been checked out and repaired by replacing them but front right side suspension still slams while driving after a few months. This is an expensive problem as well as dangerous.

ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owned a 2013 Cadillac XTS. The contact stated that they parked their vehicle and approximately 5-10 minutes afterward the vehicle caught fire. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. A police report was filed. There were two vehicles and a bicycle nearby that caught on fire as a result of the contact's vehicle fire spreading. There were no injuries and medical attention was required. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
In November of 2022 I noticed that after I would fill my 2018 Cadillac with fuel that it was extremely difficult to start. This same issue I had over the previous 4 years with my 2012 Buick Lacrosse twice and each time it was a GM #12690512 Vapor canister Purge Valve each time at over $300.00 to correct the problem. I could leave the car running while fueling but that is not safe to do. I believe GM has a known issue with this item and is no longer using this part in their newer vehicles.

SUSPENSION
With no warning and only 45000 miles on car rear air suspension motor failed on expressway! I quickly noticed my steering anti red seemed out of control! I quickly pulled over not knowing what was wrong. My husband came to meet me and immediately asked what was in my trunk! I told him nothing he said my back tires were 1/4 inch from hitting wheel well. The rear end was so low if I did not pull over and hit a bump or rock my tire would of hit top of body of car! I would of lost control of car! Thank god I pulled over when I did it could of killed me or someone else in road! I contacted GM within hrs of it happening! As I looked it up on line it said some of my make and model were recalled and safety admin was looking into it! Went back and forth with Gm and dealer and 2 1/2 weeks later still pursuing GM! There is now a claim in for full reimbursement and still have not heard back! My car was out of warranty but this is a huge safety issue! I could of been killed in that car! It will kill someone’s if they do not address this! Lots of calls on my end where it seemed like they were concerned and eager to help! Turned out to be lots of waiting for non returned calls and them not doing anything at this point! Last call was Friday last week when they put in for full reimbursement and a promise to call me by Tuesday! No call so I called today where again I was promised to hear back by end of today! I will attach service receipt! The rear end was so low that tow truck damaged bottom of my bumper! Somebody again is going to be injured or killed from this! Hopefully they don’t deny my reimbursement from this complaint and dealer west Herr Chevy of Rochester wanted nothing to do with any help GM was going to do not sure if that is why I was getting run around from GM! Cue screen spiderd Causing you to not control radio at times I’m driving and my radio is on 12 and the volume and can out of nowhere jump up to like 60 you cannot turn it down even if you hold the button on the steering wheel This has happened multiple times I’ve had at the dealership they have seen the video and they’re telling me it’s possibly an electrical issue but it needs to be fixed before he causes an accident

Catalytic converter cracked creating exhaust leak into engine compartment. The converter has been replaced 3 times in 75,000 miles for this defect. The latest replacement has now failed and is leaking exhaust necessitating a fourth replacement. Replacements to date: 1) March 12, 2016 2) March 8, 2019 3) March 21, 2021 4) July 25, 2022, not yet replaced

The Cue screen in my car is cracking for the 2nd time. I have contacted GM/Cadillac without a resolution. I see online that there have been two class action suits due to the fact the Company was/is aware of the flaw and have not issued a recall. In addition, they are replacing the Cue screen (at owner's expense) with the same flawed design. Thus subsequent issues.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Hazard lights go on automatically while driving. This creates a huge safety issue, especially when driving in high traffic areas as other drivers may mistake Hazard Lights as turn signals. I brought my vehicle in to a Cadillac dealership in December of 2020 to replace the Hazard Light switch. They replaced it with OEM parts, and the issue started happening again in April of 2022. The Hazard Lights will also engage when the vehicle is not running, so this discharges the battery to the point you need to buy a new one. Cadillac needs provide customers with safer Hazard Switches. This is the second time within 2.5 years the Hazard Lights need to be replaced.

The screen on the CUE system cracked, spider web cracked. Under no particular conditions. I got in it one day and it was like that. The car is parked in a garage unless driven. I asked the dealership about this and if there was a recall. The dealership said they have had a lot of complaints about this, but no recall. It is expensive to get fixed, and from what i've been reading online, they replace with the same screen, so it could happen again. This is so unexceptable.

When turning to the right the vehicle sometimes will completely shut off in the turn. This is an intermittent issue, but when it happens it shocks you. When the vehicle does this it drives you into on coming traffic. You have to stop the vehicle, put it in park to restart, once this is done you have to go through a reset mode shown on dash.

SUSPENSION, STEERING
I was driving north on I-65 traveling about 65mph and the Rear Air Suspension failed and dropped to the point the tires were about 1 inch (2.54 cm) from the finder wells. I lost control of the car, the rear end was bouncing, almost causing me to crash. Not only that, but I had to drive it home with the hazards on, while driving on I-65, people passing me at 70mph. Cadillac knows about this fault and refuses to fix it. They want to charge you $1,000 plus to replace the entire system. My Cadillac was just at the dealership about 8 days prior to this incident for mileage scheduled maintenance, in which the suspension is one of the things they were supposed to have checked out. Someone if they haven't already is going to get killed when this happens. There is no warning.

Rear air suspension gave out while driving and will not air/raise back up. Air springs and suspension compressor are working but the car still will not rise. Very dangerous. This is a common problem with these car but Cadillac won’t acknowledge.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac XTS. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer for a routine maintenance checkup. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the mechanic discovered that the drive shaft had disconnected from the rear differential and needed to be replaced. The contact was then given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer and had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

TIRES:SIDEWALL
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac XTS equipped with Vogue Tires, Tire Line: Signature V, Tire Size: 245/40/R20, DOT Number: (Unknown). While driving 35 MPH, the rear passenger’s side tire experienced a blowout. The contact stated that prior to the failure, a mechanic informed her that all four of the tires appeared to have splits in the sidewalls of each of the tires. The contact believed that it was the cause of the tire failure. The vehicle was left on the side of the road and the contact was picked up. The tire was not replaced. The tire failure mileage was unknown. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 54,000. The VIN was not available.
