Important Warnings

BMW has issued a strict directive regarding affected vehicles:

"Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre-Owned or Used vehicle subject to a Delivery Stop, until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a Delivery Stop."

This means that any 2026 BMW X3 (G45) vehicle identified as part of this delivery stop cannot be sold or delivered to a customer until the necessary repair has been performed. Cause

The issue stems from a manufacturing defect where a clip on the Engine Sensor 2 wiring harness was incorrectly positioned during vehicle assembly. This improper positioning allows the harness to rub against the belt tensioner, creating a risk of wear and damage over time.

Repair Procedure Summary

The repair for the 2026 BMW X3 wiring harness routing involves a two-step process, depending on the extent of the damage. Technicians must first check the positioning of the clip and inspect the Engine Sensor 2 wiring harness for any signs of damage. The bulletin includes example photos, such as one showing an "Alligator clip installed correctly." and another highlighting "NOK (Clip incorrectly installed and in contact with the belt tensioner)" to guide technicians.

If no damage is found, only the alligator clip needs to be corrected to ensure proper routing. However, if visible damage to the wiring harness is present, the Motor Sensor 2 wiring harness must be replaced according to BMW's repair instructions (RA12 51 240 “Motor Sensor 2 Wiring Harness”).
