This is a Technical Journal: Rattling noise when closing front door. Apply new sealing compound ~20-30 cm (8 to 11 inches) on top of the original glue on the upper part of the beam, so that you get contact between the beam and the outer door panel. Do not push the outer door panel when applying the glue, see attached picture TJ32381.jpg. Diameter of the glue: Ø8 mm. Due to a manufacturing error in the surface treatment process, the bolts that were used to assemble the inflatable curtain (IC) airbag may not meet specifications. This could result in one or more of the bolts breaking within 48 hours of installation, which in the event of a crash warranting deployment of the IC airbag, could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. The correction action is for Volvo retailers to replace all of the inflatable curtain bolts.
