RL: On 2001 - 2004 model year Tacoma vehicles, prolonged exposure to road salts and other environmental factors could cause the Spare Tire Carrier Lift Plate to corrode. In limited cases, the lift plate may excessively corrode and break resulting in detachment of the spare tire from the vehicle. This condition is most likely to affect certain 2001 - 2004 model year Tacoma vehicles operated in cold climate areas with high road salt use. Toyota has initiated a Safety Recall in the cold climate areas. This Limited Service Campaign covers vehicles in other areas.

TSB: Some 2004 - 2015 model year Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, and 4Runner vehicles may exhibit a cyclical grinding or groaning noise coming from the front differential in 2WD that goes away when operated in 4WD. This noise can be addressed by replacing the needle bearing on the left side of the front differential. Refer to the Repair Procedure for Needle Bearing Roller replacement instructions.

Summary
TSB: While a vehicle is in inventory, the battery is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and life. Batteries can become discharged due to an extended storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, or while demonstrating vehicle features and benefits in the sales process. Battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As described in this bulletin, operating the engine for 30 minutes after 60 days in storage and every 30 days thereafter will help to maintain battery State of Charge (SOC). This process supplements other movements of the vehicle as it is staged, and has specific restrictions on how maintenance is to be done. Also described in this bulletin are 2 other approved methods for maintaining battery State of Charge.
