TSB: REVISION NOTICE February 02, 2018 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include 2018 model year Sienna vehicles. ? The entire bulletin has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. When completing a transaxle assembly replacement, Engine Control Module (ECM) (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module [PCM]) replacement, or ECM (PCM) reprogram, ensure the correct ECM (PCM) software is matched with the transaxle assembly hardware. Some 2017 ? 2018 model year Highlander and Sienna vehicles require different ECM (PCM) software based on the transaxle assembly hardware installed in the vehicle. NOTICE Mismatched transaxle assembly hardware and ECM (PCM) software combinations may result in a harsh shift or shift flare. If this occurs after the original repair, additional ECM (PCM) replacement and reprogramming will be required. This additional ECM (PCM) replacement and/or reprogramming is NOT covered under warranty. Use the information in this Service Bulletin to confirm that the correct ECM (PCM) hardware and software are used based on the transaxle assembly part number and serial number.

TT: In the event that injector seal repair is required on vehicles equipped with a direct injection fuel system, a Special Service Tool Set is required to properly install the seal onto the injector. As new vehicle configurations have been released, several injector seal tool sets have been distributed to accommodate these new vehicles. There are a total of three injector seal tool sets for Toyota models, located in the appropriate SST cabinets. Each kit contains multiple pieces as shown in the diagram below. The individual pieces must remain together to ensure these tools are used correctly. Refer to the repair manual for the tool information to ensure the correct tool is used for the desired application.

Some 2006 ? 2017 Highlander HV, 2010 ? 2016 Prius, 2012 ? 2017 Camry HV, Prius C and Prius V, and 2016 ? 2017 RAV4 HV model year vehicles used under certain severe operating conditions may exhibit an excessive buildup of dust, lint, or other debris in the HV battery cooling fan, which can reduce the efficiency of the HV battery cooling system. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.
