Diagnosed brakes at repair shop and advised ABS Module failing. Saw online recalls for certain vehicles yet our 2019 has the issue and nothing was noted for recall. I have 4 daughters and our safety and the safety of others is at risk with a faulty system, The lights on the dash appeared a few days ago and went away and now have come back and have stayed on.

Intermittent short discovered in the electric power steering (EPS) system. I took the vehicle to the dealership to perform diagnostic testing and the dealership confirmed the issue is a short-circuit within the EPS system. This issue has already been covered in a separate NHTSA recall (19E-077) however my VIN was not included. Amplifying information for this being a prevalent issue includes backorders from the OEM for replacement EPS systems, as well as multiple other sources online claiming to have similar issues.

After starting the 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn in the morning, or after starting the truck and putting it in Drive, the vehicle sometimes shifts itself from Drive into Neutral as we come to a stop. When this happens, the gear indicator on the dashboard begins blinking and displays the message: “Shift to P then desired gear.” On one occasion, as my wife was merging onto the freeway in front of an 18-wheeler, the vehicle suddenly went into Neutral as she slowed down to merge. When she pressed the gas pedal, the truck did not move, putting her in immediate danger and forcing her to coast while traffic approached from behind. This issue has made the vehicle unsafe to drive because it can unexpectedly drop into Neutral at critical moments for example, while crossing lanes, merging, or pulling into intersections. There are no warning lights or alerts before this occurs. Sometimes, the truck will lunge forward or move forward unexpectedly when slowing down. Other times, it just rolls even though we are pressing the gas because it’s actually in Neutral. The problem has been repeatedly reported to the local dealership, which has replaced several parts -including the transmission and performed multiple repair attempts, but the issue continues. No other independent mechanic or third party has inspected the vehicle only the local dealership. Due to the ongoing safety hazard and repeated failure to repair, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue. The unpredictable shifting poses a serious risk to drivers/passengers and others on the road.

The RFH module is defective for the year and has already been replaced by a new model. When the module goes bad it can leave you stranded because it runs the security section of the computer. The computer will not recognize the key fobs, and the car can shut off and not restart leaving you stranded. Mechanic also informed me that it could also cause issues during driving not just when you stopped. The main warning lamp is the check engine light will illuminate and will throw a code for ECU not initializing.

Problem Description: Beginning in early 2025, the vehicle started experiencing intermittent electrical malfunctions that cause it to lose power unexpectedly while driving. The issue occurs without warning, creating a significant safety hazard for both the driver and other motorists. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Ram service center on four separate occasions (February 2025, July 2025, September 2025, and October 2025), but the problem has not been resolved. Each time, the service center has been unable to identify or repair the root cause. The vehicle is still under an active Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan (Account#[XXX]), and all service has been performed at Commonwealth Dodge in Louisville, Kentucky. Despite these multiple repair attempts, the truck continues to lose power intermittently, making it unreliable and unsafe to operate. Hello. There is a recall on this vehicle (VB1) for vehicles manufactured up to 10/2019 My vehicle was manufactured 12/2019 with the same defective EGR COOLER that caused the recall on this vehicle. The manufacturer is saying they will not take car of the issue under warranty as my VIN number is not included in the recall. They are saying I need to contact you folks to include my VIN number into the recall. Are they correct? Are you able to assist in that? Really appreciate any help or guidance on this. Thanks [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Power steering. Steering warning light (Steering service required) comes on randomly for a second or two and then goes away. Making steering and controlling the vehicle very difficult. Several trips to repair shops that run a diagnostics computer scams come up with nothing. Mechanics have check for shorts but say nothing looks out of the normal. This make model and year has had 197 vehicles recalled for what I believe to be this issue. Has been happening for the past couple of weeks

Power steering completely goes out at random occasions and may or may not reset. Multiple times I have lost power steering driving on roadways and luckily was able to avoid a crash. Doing research they are expensive to replace the so called guilty parts. Rack and pinion on the eps module

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH down the road, the brakes unintendedly activated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic who was unable to retrieve a fault code. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, but the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. Upon additional research, it was determined that the recall was completed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC), but the update was not performed, completed, or done correctly. The vehicle was repaired. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the power steering became inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the residence. Upon investigation, the contact located a Class Action Lawsuit. The local dealer was contacted, and it was diagnosed that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

On [XXX}, the alternator went out on me 4 hours north of my home. I had it towed 30 miles to Canon Ram in Greenwood, MS. The check engine light came on about 20 miles before the issue escalated to the point where I had to pull over in a rest area and then completely died. The GPU alternator was not in stock and is reportedly on backorder; however, a recall was issued for the same item in previous model year Ram trucks. It's been 4 weeks with no date in sight for this being fixed. The order number is [XXX] for part 68623194AC made on [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I took my truck to the RAM Dealership to check my ABS light on and Brake light on and 4 warning messages that the Brake system needs to be serviced. In the afternoon I called the dealer and the answer was that the ABS module failed and needs to be replaced, but the part is on national backorder and they cannot provide an estimate on when and even if a part will ever be available for my ABS module repair. Now I will be handed the keys to my truck back tomorrow where all warning lights are still on and no repair is even on the horizon, and it is still safe because the hydraulic brakes are still working. The ABS module however might not be replaced in a long time and I will be driving my vehicle without it working properly.

The contact's grandmother owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle had been experiencing an intermittent loss of power steering functionality. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that a fee would be charged for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19E077000 (Steering); because the VIN was not included. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance in adding the VIN to the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

I bought a new battery from the Chrysler dealership in February of 2023 that started going bad in May of 2025. It is under warranty until February 2026. On May 28th 2025, I was attending a canine seminar out of town. At the end of the day, I went to start the truck & the battery was dead. I was able to get a jump start & immediately took it to a local retailer to have the starter, alternator & battery checked. The battery had Indications of going bad, the alternator & starter passed the tests. I purchased a mobile jump starter to make sure I wouldn't be left stranded somewhere. When I returned home, I scheduled an appointment at the dealership to have them replace it. The dealership kept it overnight & said their diagnostic machines did not give the code that allowed them to replace the battery under warranty. I was getting ready drive to Indiana from Florida & wanted to make sure it would be safe.I then drove to Texas after that, then back home, about 1200 miles each leg. When I went to leave to Maine a couple weeks later, the truck would not start. I was able to use a jump starter to get it going. When I got to Maine, I scheduled an appointment at the local dealership to have them check it. They ran the same tests & said they could not get the code to replace the battery under warranty. It became increasingly difficult to start the truck & even got to the point where I couldn't use a mobile jump starter to start it. When I returned from Maine, I made an appointment with a reliable mechanic who said the battery was swollen & leaking acid. He said it was ready to explode, potentially catching the engine compartment on fire. At that point I contacted the dealer again, and they said that yes, with acid leaking & the battery swollen, they could replace the battery under warranty. It should never have gotten to the point where the battery had to be leaking acid to get it changed out under warranty, the testing the dealerships do does not properly identify bad batteries. A cracked backlite frame resulting in an interior water leak (crack is visible from the outside). Water leaks from the top of the backlite. There is a recall under Warranty Bulletins: U.S. D-23-17 (TSB: 23-098-23) for the same make, year, and model as this vehicle, but it is not listed as a specific recall for this VIN. In addition to the risk of mold in the vehicle, electronics located below the leak, such as the RF Module beneath the rear seat, could also be damaged. This could lead to the inability to remotely start the vehicle, or even start it at all, due to the module being used to recognize the key fob before the vehicle starts. This could strand an individual and represent a safety concern in this aspect. The problem is well known on other vehicles; see the previous reference for Warranty Bulletins: U.S. D-23-17 (TSB: 23-098-23). However, it is not listed for this VIN. The dealer and auto body shops have inspected the problem, and they can confirm that this matches the problem listed in the TSB. No warnings or messages, as this is a common manufacturing defect for this vehicle's make, model, and year. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
