AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING. AFTER DEALER DIAGNOSED, DETERMINED FAULTY SENSOR B1018 PASSENGER OCCUPANT SENSOR UNIT FAIL. I HAVE NOT CHANGED A SEAT OR ALTERED ANYTHING TO THE SYSTEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE IT INVOLVES THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AND MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE.

THE LED IN MY GTR CLUSTER ARE NO LONGER WORKING, THEY ARE DEFECTIVE AND ARE NOT REPLACEABLE = NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE CLUSTER DRIVING AT NIGHT TIME CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. SAFETY IS EVERYTHING, NISSAN NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SAFETY BEHIND NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE CLUSTER WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE REPAIR SHOULD BE SIMPLE AND REPAIRABLE BUT IN THIS CASE IT IS NOT.

AS I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 45MPH THE LOW OIL PRESSURE SENSOR LIGHT TURNED ON AND THEN TURNED OFF. THE NEXT DAY I THOUGHT IT WAS GONE BUT THEN IT TURNED BACK ON AND THIS TIME THE SENSOR LIGHT DID NOT TURN OFF. AFTER THIS LIGHT WAS STILL ON I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO JO TECH (972) 494-2100. WHEN I TOOK IT TO JO TECH I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT JUST SOME SMALL SENSOR ISSUE BUT AN ENGINE PROBLEM. AFTER FINDING THIS OUT I TOWED IT OVER TO COURTESY NISSAN. AT NISSAN I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE WARRANTY WAS NOT VALID AND I WOULD HAVE TO BE PAYING OUT OF POCKET.I ASKED FOR A QUOTE FROM THEM AND THEY WERE GIVING ME A PRICE OF $56,000 TO REPAIR. THIS QUOTE WAS OBVIOUSLY WAY TOO HIGH. I MADE THE DECISION TO GET IT OUT OF THERE AND OVER TO T1 RACE DEVELOPMENT (214) 607-9022. AS THEY OPENED THE ENGINE THEY DISCOVERED THE FOLLOWING, " WELL THIS IS DEFINITELY AN ODD ONE. IT LOOKS LIKE A STOCK TENSIONER/GUIDE FAILED AND ALLOWED THE CHAIN TO DIG INTO THE FRONT TIMING COVER WHICH THROUGH A TON OF METAL INTO THE OILING SYSTEM". I WAS TRYING TO ATTACH IMAGES/EVIDENCE THAT T1 SENT OVER TO ME TO SHOW THIS ENGINE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT BUT FILE WAS BIGGER THAN 5MB. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT BOTH SHOPS FOR THE FULL REPORT AND TO GET THE REST OF THE IMAGES. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME DIRECTLY AS WELL. I NOTED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON MY DASH REGARDING A FAILURE TO THE ABS.I WENT TO THE DEALER WHO PULLED A CODE "C1111" FOR A FAILED HYDRAULIC CONTROL ASSEMBLY; A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. MY CAR HAS ONLY 19K MILES, AND IS LIGHTLY DRIVEN. ONLINE RESEARCH ON GT-R BLOGS, AND ELSEWHERE REVEAL THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON EARLY GT-RS, AFFECTING A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF THEM AT LOW MILEAGE. I CONTACTED NISSAN'S GT-R REPORT LINE, AND THEY WERE OF NO HELP. I RECENTLY SAW A RECALL ON OTHER NISSAN PRODUCTS RELATED TO THEIR ABS SYSTEMS. ALTHOUGH THIS IS A SMALL NUMBER OF MANUFACTURED CARS, THIS IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY DEVICE, AND I BELIEVE NEEDS TO BE SCRUTINIZED CAREFULLY. THANK YOU.
