Not a critical safety problem but truck has reoccurring low voltage.. most recent are July 11,13 and 15. Dealership will have my truck on July 30 for inspection, oil change. Truck has 3000 miles. Next problem is the trucks camera for backing and forward movement. Screen is not showing all views and any view is reversed picture. Camera faulty in park, reverse and forward. Faults started occurring on July 13 2024. Truck had 2985 miles. Dealer will check the camera on July 30. This truck has a history of electrical problems. At the dealer for those on 9-26-23 at 447 miles. 10-17 -23 at 662 miles. Dealer replaced the engine room harness at 916 miles on 11-02-23.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The trucks, automatic emergency braking system activated, causing an accident that otherwise would not have occurred. Prior to this incident - Forward collision warning, rear cross traffic, and blind spot warning lights would activate episodically.

STEERING
Theres a metallic click like something loose in the power steering and rack & Pinion. Im not the only one with this issue and nissan is not doing anything. Theres Reddit threads and facebook groups about. Some people have gotten their entire Steering Rack replace and others like myself, not. Some mechanism in the door is bad. I get locked out of the vehicle when the truck is unlocked. On multiple occasions this door and truck will try to lock itself with the keys still inside (the warning alarm will go off). To get back into the truck I have to lock the door and unlock it even though the door was unlocked to begin with. If the situation were to arise where this door is stuck closed with the keys inside the vehicle, it can cause many issues for the owner/operator (This happened to me once, but the other side was not jammed fortunately). I have brought this vehicle back to the dealership many times and they have not fixed the problem.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The cruise control on the vehicle is dangerous. When driving through rolling hills the vehicle does not keep a consistent speed. When it loses speed it puts the vehicle in overdrive accelerates to 4500 RPM to speed the vehicle up to the cruise setting. The danger is while on back roads while cresting a hill or rounding a curve the vehicle feels totally out of control. The problem is not limited to back roads, it also occurs while driving the interstate highway. The only way to stop the vehicle during this process is to cancel the cruise control. The acceleration is so violent that it pushing you back in your seat and your head is pushed into the headrest. Ive been on Frontier forums and many people have experienced the same condition. Seems to lie in the newer 9 speed transmission trucks. Seems Nissan does not acknowledge the problem. Needs a Firmware update.

POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start-up. The contact stated that several attempts were needed before the vehicle started. The contact stated that the "electronic shift and key fob" warning lights were illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission was not shifting into park (P), and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V671000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

I was at the post office on Redwood Road in South Jordan, in the dropoff mailbox lane. At the end of the lane is stop sign. The stop sign is for the traffic coming into and leaving the post office. I was sitting at the stop sign when I turned east towards Redwood Road, as I was pulling up behind a blue SUV, the Frontier lurched forward and the RPM’s rev’d all the way up and the truck shot forward. I put my foot on the brake trying to stop the car but it hit the blue suv at the stop sign, that was waiting to turn onto Redwood Road, and proceeded forward at what felt like a high speed into a blue sedan turning into the post-office. With the second impact the airbags exploded and the Frontier continued east bound across the remaining lanes of north/south traffic heading towards a house across from the post office. I had both feet on the brake trying to stop the Frontier, and in the end the only thing I could think to do is put it into park, so I grabbed the shifter and slammed it into park, effectively stopping the Frontier from plowing into the house. Guideline answers: 1. I experienced Sudden Unintended Acceleration, not sure what the failure is, except the brakes would not work and the vehicle would not stop. 2. Since I wouldn't stop, I hit two vehicles, and a man broke his sternum. Somebody, including myself could have been seriously injured or worse killed. 3. No, I can't get anyone to inspect the black box! I have tried many, many, times!!! 4. No warnings! I have correspondence, pictures, etc., but this form will not allow me to upload. The truck has been deemed totaled by State Farm and is currently with them, but is scheduled to be scrapped in a couple of weeks.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that when applying the accelerator pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and lurched forward. There were no warning lights illuminated. While leaving a store and entering traffic, the vehicle accelerated and crashed into an unknown vehicle, which spun and crashed into another unknown vehicle. The driver was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene. The driver sustained a concussion but did not seek medical attention. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The local dealer was contacted before the crash. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 4,500.

Vehicle returned to dealer for a third time for same problem. 1st was on sept 27 2023 for check engine and all driver assistance warnings alerts flashing. Vehicle had 447 miles. Had 28 trouble codes. Released on sept 29. Oct 18 2023 vehicle back to dealer with the same check engine and driver assistance warnings again with 662 miles. Dealer replaced RPL Master Assembly. Released on nov 02 2023 with 916 miles. I drove vehicle 18 miles and check engine and driver assistance warnings were indicated again. Took vehicle back to dealer on Nov 02 2023. Dealer replaced an engine room wiring harness and returned vehicle on Nov 29 2023 with 965 miles. Have less than 1000 miles on truck. Will monitor if problems return.

This is 3rd time to dealer and under 900 miles. Same issues. 1st time with 440 miles . 2sd time with 660 miles. Picked truck up at dealer today and has 870 miles. Drove 18 miles home.check engine light back on . Also key system error, malfunction, system fault, parking sensor, driver attention alert. Got email from Nissan connect saying emmision control malfunction and mil light on. Continued driving will damage vehicle. Dealer has had my truck 2 days 1st time and 17 days for 2sd time. Dealer installed an abs brake module on 2sd visit. Now dealer is working with Nissan for multiple other indications. All safety alerts and warnings are not working.

Door locks don't work. Had it serviced twice to try fixing the problem and the locks still don't work. I have to crawl in and out of the windows several times a day as this is my work truck. This is a very dangerous safety hazard should I get trapped inside.

Started truck with remote start. Truck stopped normally after a set time. After entering truck and restarting, the check engine light was indicated. Message to take truck for service. Dealer kept the truck for diagnosis. 28 codes were indicated and reset. Battery showed a low charge and was charged to proper voltage. Truck was returned with a list of all codes that were addressed. I have Low Jack on my truck and on Oct 08 2023 that I had low voltage of 11 indicated again. Will be visiting dealer for follow up.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Easily repeatable issue. When at highway speeds adaptive cruise control detects a slower vehicle in my lane. My Frontier slows as expected. When the necessary lane change is made, my engine will suddenly accelerate rapidly until it reaches about 6000 rpms. This also will occur when climbing a moderately steep hill in either cruise mode. This is a safety hazard in that it is extremely distracting, because you have to divert your attention to cancel the out-of-control cruise control manually with the cancel button or brake pedal. I have contacted Nissan Customer Service, as well as had two dealer service calls. They both said that they could not duplicate the issue. According to the in and out milage they didn't drive it. They did say that Nissan is working on this issue.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I was driving in the right hand lane on Interstate 95 with my cruise control on. My speed was approximately 65 mph. In the distance I could see a tow truck stopped in the breakdown lane with it's warning lights flashing. I proceeded to move into the next lane to my left. All of a sudden my vehicle began to brake hard by itself and a message that included "25 mph" began flashing on my dash in the middle. I had to make a split-second decision to put my floor on the accelerator pedal and press to maintain a safe speed since cars in front of and behind me were going close to 60 mph or more and I was afraid I could be rear-ended. I shut off the cruise control. The message including the words "25 mph" continued to flash for about a minute or less and then went away. I cannot find any information in the owners manual that would indicate why this all happened but it could have resulted in a rear end collision if I had not reacted as fast as I did. I've never experienced this kind of thing in all my years of driving. I'm 63 years old and I've been driving since I was 16.
