SUSPENSION
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, she noticed an unknown fluid leaking from the vehicle. Over time, the contact noticed that an unknown pink fluid had also started to leak form the vehicle. On one occasion while driving 25 MPH, the vehicle started to hesitate with an abnormal popping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that dark blue smoke was coming from the vehicle. The vehicle eventually stalled without warning. The vehicle failed to restart for almost an hour. The vehicle eventually restarted after multiple attempts and was driven back to the residence. The following day, the vehicle was towed to the dealer where they discovered that water was leaking into the exhaust and had caused the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V272000 (Suspension) which she linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owned a 2013 Mercedes Benz ML350. The contact stated that the vehicle was stopped waiting for traffic to pass when a second vehicle suddenly crashed into the front end of the vehicle. During the crash, the front end of the vehicle was severely damaged and the vehicle was destroyed but no airbags were deployed. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the incident. The failure mileage was 96,000.

SEAT BELTS
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and attempting to seat the child in the car seat, he noticed that the seat belt was loose. The contact checked the car seat and pushed the seat to one side and the seat belt unwound and retracted to the normal position. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed that the seat belt latching system had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. There brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the failure was caused by a corroded brake booster. The vehicle was repaired. 2013 ML350 STRONG MOLDY SMELL IN CAR WHEN AIR CONDITIONER IS RUNNING, CHANGE AIR /CABIN FILTER SEVERAL TIMES SMELL STOP FOR A WHLE AND THEN COME BACK. CHECK FOR WATER OR LEAKING FOUND NOTHING. IF I GOOD TO THE MERCEDES THIS GOING TO COST ME A LOT OF MONEY FOR THEM LOOK OR TO FIND THE PROBLEM.

The break line in the rear locate right above the gas tank is corroded by rust due to the clip is holding the break line allows the moisture to accumulate. The car will lose its break completely when this happens. There is no way for the car owner to inspect this problem until the car has no break power.

2013 Mercedes Benz ML350 (W166) engine (m276) began misfiring. Palm Springs Mercedes Benz diagnosed faulty camshaft positioning sensor leaking engine oil into engine electrical harness which wicked through harness to ECU. Faulty (leaking) camshaft positioning sensor caused faulty harness, ECU, injectors, o2 sensors. Said common problem on these and other models and engines.

The contact owned a 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40-45 mph in the rain, he drove over a puddle of water and hydroplaned on the highway and hit the jersey wall, went across the highway, and crashed into the guard rail. The air bags did not deploy. There were no warning indicator lights illuminated. The contact sustained injuries to his shoulder and medical attention was provided. The passenger occupant sustained injuries to the vertebrae and medical attention was provided. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The vehicle was towed to an independent lot. The local dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I participated in the Emission Recall Campaign 2020050014. I have a 2013 ML350BlueTec. I have been back to the dealer 10 times to fix my car after the recall was performed. The check engine continues to return in an on (orange light) position after only a few days. On trip 5 my car could not accerlate and lost power. The problem related to the NOX sensors that are being replaced each visit. MB USA replaced b19/9 temp upstream of turbo charger and b9/11 temperature sensor upstream of catalyst. Also remove and replace 3 temp sensors. Again, I have been back 10 times to the dealer for continual problems related to the recall. Since Nov. 29, 2021, the warning light (check engine) remains on and MBUSA does not respond to fixing it. MBUSA reported that there is a software issue they are working on. Can you help please?

The contact stated while his wife driving 75 MPH, the steering malfunction warning light was illuminated and the steering wheel was difficult to turn at slower speeds. The driver was able to park on the side road for 20 minutes before restarting the vehicle to drive to her destination. The contact called the local dealer and was informed to replace the battery. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and had the battery replaced. The vehicle was repaired but experienced the failure for a second time. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

SUSPENSION
Have Toya tires on 2015 Mercedez ML350. In snow/ice roads car makes unpronounced lateral motion such that passenger and driver notice. Is worst with patchy ice snow conditions. Problem is not apparent in dry conditions. Condition is quite to most concernoing. Tire pressure is to Mercedez specificatiions all tires at 32lbs.

ENGINE
The seal for the oil cooler is leaking and could cause an engine fire. The Mercedes repair says they only expect this repair to last 30,000 miles before it fails again. Each time this fix occurs it is a $4,800 repair by the dealer as they have to tear the engine apart to replace it. This is a known issue but there are no recalls. Oil runs under the entire car and on to the braking surfaces as well. I was told by the Mercedes dealer that fires have happened from this while driving or as the car or SUV is parked.
