The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. The contact stated that while taking the vehicle to 2 independent mechanics for a smog check inspection, she notified the mechanics that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The mechanics stated that at times the electrical sensor needed to be reset. Several days later the warning light returned. The contact took the vehicle to MBZ dealer who diagnosed the failure as Camshaft- hall sensor leaking oil travel into harness to my module. The Contact has now learned and been informed by mechanics of this matter. The vehicle was not repaired by MZB due to the repair cost. The failure mileage was approximately 37,573.

I have a Mercedes GLK 350 .When I fill up the gas tank in full I can smell gas. I called the dealer and they refused to fix it because there is no recall in Mercedes GLK 350 and it is not covered by emission warranty. They will charge me $200 just to diagnose the problem

The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. The contact stated while driving at 40 MPH, the headrest inadvertently deployed and hit the contact's husband in the back of the head. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that they continued to drive the vehicle and later veered to the side of the road to determine the cause of the failure. The contact stated two months later, an unknown message appeared on the instrument panel indicating that the driver side and passenger side frontal air bags needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the headrest needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not provide any assistance. My car goes abruptly into park while driving or reversing at 5 mph or less. This is a big safety concern if it ever suddenly stalls in a highway, I may get into a life threatening accident. There are no warning or sensor lights that light up when this happens. I have taken it to the Mercedes Benz dealer who said it was a shift module error which I paid to fix and not even two weeks later the same problem persisted.

Two fuel tank leaks that are a fire hazard. First one was around fuel pump, cracks in plastic flange. Had repaired with a sealant. Recently another leak around the filler tube. Leak around passenger side rear wheel when filling tank. Strong smell of gasoline if not completely filled to cause leak. I would think a dangerous fire hazard. I see recalls for other year models, but not 2010, even though basically identical.

The driver's side seat failed. Due to a seat electrical harness failure the seat became stuck and neither the seat seatback or headrest could be moved. I could comfortably still reach steering wheel and pedals but my wife could not safely do so. The car has approximately 36k miles on it. I paid to repair this $831 negotiated down from $1600+. This is a pressing NHTSA issue because on the repair invoice the technician noted that a 40 amp fuse had been installed in a 30 amp socket. Presumably it came from the factory in this condition. The car has only been serviced by MBZ dealers - 2, palm springs and sandiego- and to my knowledge no one has touched the fuses or box. The electrical system from the factory is running 40 amps on a circuit designed for 30. This is a manufacturing or design defect which will likely as here, cause failure and could possibly at least to my non electrical engineer's mind cause fire.

Left side boost tube blown twice on my vehicle. Technical part info: 204-528-00-00, Charge Air Hose Both incidents involved sudden loss of power in the middle of the free way driving. First incident: Christmas Day 2018, on the way to Las Vegas from Grand Canyon visit, on highway 93. Fortunately, no vehicle was behind when I lost the power, moved to right lane and continued driving slowly to reach the hotel in LV (about 50 miles at low speeds). Check engine light came on immediately after loosing the power. Next day morning, visited the local Mercedes dealer to repair the vehicle, it costed me $520.19 This was in the middle of a long road trip from Phoenix to San Fransisco. Second incident: July 29th 2021, right after I picked up the vehicle from a repair shop to repair the rear bumper. Vehicle pick up was slow, no check engine light. Next day morning, on the way to work on I-17, vehicle lost the power while merging onto Freeway. Almost got hit a by trailer truck which was right behind me. Moved back to right lane and slowly drove to work. Check engine light came on after few minutes of driving. Took the vehicle to repair on August 6th to a local dealer. This time they didn't charge me for the repair and said it's covered under warranty. I don't have any warranty. Seems like it's a design issue with turbo charge air hose and/or a faulty part. It's a real safety issue if it blown in the middle of driving.

- #11423654July 6, 2021ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING
When driving, the steering wheel locks and I can no longer steer the vehicle, it locks in a way that I cannot move the steering wheel at all, which may cause me to crash if I am at a dead end road and need to turn. I have been trying to contact the manufacturer for resolution but have not received any responses. This was a recall back in 2017 under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V-595 for 2015-2017 Mercedes Benz cars, with the component of Steering/Electric Power Assist System. I am not sure why my car is not listed in the recall since it does have this issue.

Lately, everytime I filled up the gas tank, I can smell gas from the rear left area. After some time when the tank is maybe a little over half the smell is gone. I assume there is a leak somewhere from the fill pipe to the tank. Maybe a bad rubber connector, gasket/seal failure? The vehicle has never been involved in any crash. Normal usage. Low mileage. Should this be covered by MB warranty at no cost to the owner? Thank you.
