Check engine light came out for a couple of days then went off. It appeared on the dashboard on 4/21/23 and disappeared 4/24/23. The day it went off, a message appeared on the dashboard stating to check coolant levels. A mechanic ran the diagnostics and it showed up as “positive crankcase ventilation regulator valve performance”. I’ve had this vehicle for only a year and I’ve only taken it to Mercedes. Is this car going to go up in flames?

Intake and exhaust cam shaft and adjuster failure at 83,000 miles. Failure caused vehicle not to accelerate and stalled starts. Was on the highway when vehicle wouldn’t accelerate putting driver and others on road in danger. Repair on vehicle costing over $5k and MBUSA has no recourse due to vehicle being out of warranty. Per techs this issue should not happen to the engine.

Steering wheel vibrates uncomfortably and appears to lose steering effectiveness when the car goes over road irregularities when driving at moderate to high speeds. Irregularities experienced include driving over cross joints, bumps or dips on the road, and poorly repaired road surfaces. The sensation is disturbing and feels unsafe. The vibrations last for a few seconds each time. There are no warning signs or signals while this is happening. The vehicle is less than a year old and it has been doing this for a few months now. First time I felt this issue the car had approximately 3,100 miles. I made an appointment to take it to the dealership for it’s first 10,000 mile maintenance and will request to have this issue inspected.

Our 2019 GLC with 25,000 miles flooded from the inside out with no warning -- a terrifying safety concern. One day when driving to work the car felt slightly odd while driving on streets in Washington, DC. Pulled over to the side of the road and car would not start. Dealer sent tech and jumped the car after a few attempts. Dealer/repair thought the car had a bad battery and voltage dip limiter. Repaired both and returned car. The next day the car drove in the morning but would not start again; was towed to dealer. Dealer/repair reported the limiter was "fried"; repaired again but at our insistence investigated further because we suspected a short and wanted to understand why. Upon further investigation the dealer discovered our car was flooded on the driver's side on the inside; electrical components flooded. There was no warning; no indication of water. After subsequent water testing dealer/repair estimate stated that it was a "slow drip of water in the area of the driver footwell, right side. Can feel by hand water around area where heater hoses and A/C lines come through the firewall." We alerted Mercedes and were concerned because there was no warning and because we found other similar recalls: (https://www.motorsafety.org/mercedes-benz-recalls-suvs-for-water-leak/ and https://www.motorsafety.org/mercedes-benz-issues-third-recall-for-water-leak-that-can-lead-to-fire-limp-home-mode%ef%bf%bc/). We believe this is a defect in the car; Mercedes instructed us to file this form if we were concerned about safety and the integrity of the vehicle.

There is a squeaky noise from the suspension, shock absorbers or somewhere in that area. They have fixed the issue multiple times. Kept my car in the workshop for days multiple times but it’s not getting fixed. They probably sold me a lemon. I need help in rectifying this issue.

One morning I was driving the GLC-300 about 45 mph, when suddenly the car went from 45mph to 0 in 3 seconds. The car stopped and it would not move forward. The car was towed to the Mercedes Benz dealership and it was discovered that front differential was broken. The car has 55k original miles and it's maintained very well. There was no warming light on the dashboard to indicate this problem. If the car was traveling at speed of 55 or 65 mph, it could have caused a catastrophe. This is very unusual for front differential to break. This needs to be investigated by NHTSA and I'm sure there are other customer that run into this issue. Since the car out of manufacture warranty, Mercedes Benz covered the cost of the part, but I had to pay for the labor which was a lot. The dealership admitted that it was unusual for the front differential to break specially for Mercez Benz car.

Driving at 70MPH on interstate and glass on top of roof in front of sunroof became separated and flew off of car. Part appears to be named Cover OSR. Our safety was not at risk however part breaking off at highway speed could have caused accident for a vehicle behind us or caused injury if someone was struck by the part. When the part became detached, there is no longer a seal to prevent water or debris from entering into the roof of the car. Independent service center stated to take car to dealership repair. Has not been scheduled yet. It has not been inspected yet. There was excess noise prior to the part breaking loose.

At speed above 55mph , the steering wheel shakes in an abnormal and unsafe manner while traveling over a bump. This seems to be a manufacture defect and recall would be ideal. This seems to be an issue with all this model of the vehicle.

While driving my car, I tried to open the Panamatic sun roof to get air. As I pushed the button to open the sun roof, it opened a crack on the the driver side and the other side of the sun roof stayed closed. At this point I heard a crashing assembly noise and the whole sun roof got stuck uneven and crooked. Driving on highway, I was shocked and felt in danger getting to an automobile accident and getting hit by other cars or any loose parts hitting them. Getting myself together, I pulled over and got out of the highway. I parked and tried to understand what happened. I tried to close the partially opened on one side glass roof with no avail. It was totally stuck. I parked my car and went home. A day after the incident, I had the car towed to an authorized repair shop for investigation and repair. It took two days to repair and replace all of the roof railing assemblies. A copy of the invoice is enclosed. It was a very dangerous and traumatic experience for me and I truly felt in this incident, I could have hurt other people or got myself in a bad accident.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Crank case vent valve malfunctioned 2 years ago and was replaced. Now it is failing again. Reports online from other owners show this part failing about every 2 years / 20k miles. This is not a wear item. Yes it is in my car How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It is part of the fuel system so it can potentially damage the car Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? It has been inspected by the dealer Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There is a check engine light that appears right at failure, not before.

Crankcase Breather Intake Line - Part number 274090560080 is malfunctioning and replacement of this requires over $2,000 at the dealership. This is a very common issue among the Mercedes-Benz vehicles that uses this same engine.

The seat belt latch plates (the parts that insert into the buckles) for the outboard rear seats may retract into the interior paneling, preventing the occupants from being able to use the seat belts. If the rear seat passengers cannot fasten their seat belts, they have an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

From the beginning, I have had issues with my car and received nothing but patronizing responses from both the dealership and the service department. From the very start, I have experienced constant issues with my car, only to be met with a condescending attitude from all levels of senior staff members at the dealership and the service department. When I asked for solutions, their solution was to inform me that I was merely using my car door handle incorrectly to open it and activate keyless go. The repair department refused to acknowledge any mechanical faults and instead blamed me as the operator although I had no issues with operating any of their loaner vehicles. Mr. Max Spata eventually arranged one last attempt at repair, yet I was immediately denied service after the service department eventually received notice of my legal letter asserting my rights under the contract. Instead of making an attempt to remedy the solution as requested in that letter, the service department called and advised me that they were demanding the return of the loaner vehicle and that I must pick up my vehicle immediately. The service department then subsequently refused to make any attempts to repair the vehicle under warranty and have continuously made me feel as if my issues are invalid. Throughout the entire process, I have felt invalidated and belittled by their attempts to gaslight me in order to avoid responsibility for their faulty product. The vehicle has experienced several malfunctions, including but not limited to, the KeylessvGo Entry malfunctioning while attempting to enter the car, the vehicle locking without beingvprompted, and the vehicle failing to recognize when keys are inside, thus not allowing it to operate. Moreover, there have been several audio/muffled sound issues with the vehicle's radio system, which have significantly impacted my driving experience. Additionally, I have experienced a recurring problem of the vehicle locking the keys inside the car.

Collision prevention assist inoperative. Car at local Mercedes dealer. Told that a $317 software update was required to make system operative again. I do not understand how it is ethical for a corporation to alter their software, make a safety system inoperative, and the ask the customer to pay to make system operative again via a software update. This is unethical, a significant safety concern and just wrong. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
