SummaryComplaint Hand detection system not operating correctly / vehicles with code 266 Fault message in instrument cluster: "Active Emergency Stop Assist not available" "Active Lane Keeping Assist not available" Cause Possible causes: the hand detection mat, the hand detection control unit, the contacts and the steering wheel harness. Remedy Test Procedure: Perform an initial quick test with freeze frame data. Save the N179 - Hand detection system (HE) and N62/4 - Driver assistance system (SG-FAS) control unit logs. Note the fault frequency of fault codes set. Delete the N179 and N62/4 fault memory. Using both hands, "scan" the steering wheel all the way round, including the chrome molding at 6 o'clock (see Picture 1). Read out fault memory and follow steps below for any faults set. Remedy: Vehicles with control unit N179 - Hand detection system (HE): B1E7614: Check contacts and wiring harness in steering wheel by carrying out a visual check for damage, pinched areas, loose connections, etc. (examples in Figs. 2 and 3); If no damage is noted replace the N135 - Steering wheel electronics (LRE) and reassess. If fault code returns replace the steering wheel. Please check the wires and connections in the steering wheel. Afterwards, please check whether the complaint is caused by over torqued screws on steering wheel trim pieces. To do this, please loosen the screws slightly and reevaluate the situation. (Picture 4). P164456: Perform SCN coding. P1CA000: Perform an initial start-up on the N179 hand detection control unit. Faults in N62/4 - Driver assistance system (SG-FAS) control unit with U186B29, U0429E0, U042941, U042929, U042902, U0429E1: If no fault is stored in the N179 control unit: Scan steering wheel as indicated in the test procedure and check whether the fault is reproducible. If no fault code is stored in the hand detection control unit, the fault codes in the driver assistance systems control unit are precautionary messages. Software for the N62/4 - Driver assistance system (SG-FAS) is in preparation to reduce erroneous messages in the driver display.

SummaryMercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2023-2025 EQB, GLA, and GLC vehicles (243, 247, and 254 platform), the B-pillar certification label might not contain the vehicle’s rim size, tire size, and cold tire inflation pressure information as required by FMVSS 110. In this case, relevant regulatory requirements might not be met. Mercedes-Benz believes this issue has no impact on vehicle safety. Mercedes-Benz intends to submit a petition to NHTSA for exemption from the notification and remedy requirements of 49 U.S.C. chapter 301, pursuant to 49 CFR Part 556, on the basis that this noncompliance is inconsequential as it relates to motor vehicle safety.

SummaryComplaint Noise can be heard coming from the air conditioning system at higher blower motor speeds. Cause Leaves/foreign objects have entered through the water drain grille in the water drain thereby causing an imbalance and noise in the blower wheel. Remedy Remove any leaves/foreign objects from the blower and interior air filter (the blower does NOT need to be replaced). After this, more fine-grained grilles and sealing frames can be used that are better at filtering out leaves / foreign objects. Parts required for retrofitting: Sealing frame (A 247 835 12 00) Sealing frame (A 247 835 11 00) Plug-in mounting (A 000 991 56 04) Housing cover (A 247 830 95 03) Housing cover (A 247 830 63 03) Steps: 1- Remove windshield wiper as per the work instructions AR82.30-P-0001MFA 2- Remove cover for water drain as per the work instructionsAR83.10-P-1411MFB 3- Release threaded connections (5x 10 mm, 2x 8 mm) 4- Fasten released part temporarily using cable tie to hood. 5- Thoroughly clean body between fender and wiper motor then mount the sealing frame (A 247 835 12 00) using the self-adhesive tape. 6- Cut cable tie and insert plastic part again. Then thoroughly clean the area behind the mounted sealing frame. 7- Open plastic cap on firewall then vacuum the filter using a vacuum cleaner. Then tighten the threaded connections again. 8- Finally, insert sealing frame (A 247 835 11 00) and attach to body-in-white using plug-in mounting (A 000 991 56 04) 9 - Clean water drains. 10- Assemble in reverse order. 11- Place housing cover (A 247 830 95 03) and housing cover (A 247 830 63 03) on top of each other.

SummaryIn our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is extending the coverage for the Fuel System Control Module (FSCM) software on your vehicle from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years / 50,000 miles to 1 S year: / 150,000 mile: (whichever occurs: first), and applies to the vehicle regardless of ownership. Why the warranty extension? On certain Model Year 2019 - 2021 A/CLA/ GLA/GLB/ GLE and GLS-Class vehicles, the FSCM software for the fuel pressure sensor and temperature plausibility checks may not meet specifications. As a result, the check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp ('MIL') might illuminate. Any repair: under this warranty extension must be performed by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. If your preferred authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership performs a diagnosis and confirms that your vehicle has the issue, the repair will be performed at no cost to you. This extended warranty does not apply to any other components or conditions beyond the ones mentioned above, and standard warranty terms apply, including the exclusions with respect to extra expenses, as identified in the Service and Warranty Information booklet. We hope you are enjoying your Mercedes-Benz vehicle and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
