Some customers may complain about the driver and/or passenger rear side seat cushion trim (1) coming off the seat cushion frame. The front seat cushion trim (bottom rear) is attached to the seat cushion frame using a hook. The hook may slip out of the seat cushion frame due to insufficient strength. To eliminate this concern, a plastic tie-wrap has been added to increase the strength.

Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update (Version 59.00.504 or later). NOTE: For 2016 CX-9 with version earlier than 59.00.441, the tachometer function will be removed from the Active Driving Display as part of Mazda's continuing efforts to improve safety and reduce driver distraction. Please explain this to the customer before updating the software. If the customer agrees, turn off the tachometer display on the AD-Display tab in MAZDA CONNECT Settings before performing the update. NOTE: If the customer has customized MAZDA CONNECT with something like a different background using unauthorized software, make sure they know the following information before updating MAZDA CONNECT to avoid any issues later on.

When the engine is started for the first time after parking the vehicle overnight in cold conditions (below 32 degrees Fahrenheit / 0 degrees Celsius), some vehicles may exhibit a rough idle and/or the check engine light on with any of the following DTC(s) stored in memory. P0300 - Random misfire detected P0301 - Cylinder No.1 misfire detected P0302 - Cylinder No.2 misfire detected P0303 - Cylinder No.3 misfire detected P0304 - Cylinder No.4 misfire detected. This may be caused by frozen water accumulated in the main silencer, restricting exhaust flow.

Some customer's may complain that the blind spot monitoring (BSM) is not operating, and the key ON bulb check is OK with no DTCs stored in memory. This issue could be caused by mis-matched BSM modules, especially if the vehicle was recently involved in an accident or work was done on the BSM system. Some customers may experience the MAZDA CONNECT rebooting or the screen turning black during extremely cold temperatures. The concern occurs when the interior of the vehicle is cold and disappears when the interior warms up. This is caused by some SD cards for the MAZDA CONNECT navigation system being manufactured with improper hardware, resulting in a data reading error during extremely cold temperatures. To correct the concern, the SD card hardware has been changed.

Some vehicles may experience a rough idle with the check engine light on and DTC P0015 / P0524 stored in memory. P0015:00 - Exhaust CMP timing over-retarded P0524:00 - Engine oil pressure too low This is caused by a drop in engine oil pressure due to a piece of foreign object stuck on the oil pump pressure relief valve or oil control valve (OCV). The temporary entry of the foreign object triggers a check engine light on, but rough idle will not be produced until a later time.
