On Saturday, August 22, 2026, while traveling on the highway with my two toddler-aged children in the vehicle, the temperature gauge entered the red zone and the vehicle automatically reduced power due to overheating. This forced me to navigate a power-reduced vehicle on a highway with minor children — a serious safety hazard. This incident occurred just five days after my vehicle was in the Sewell Lexus service department on August 17, 2026 for its 10,000-mile service and a warranty repair to the rear evaporator case (a known design defect). The proximity of this safety incident to that service visit raises significant concerns about whether the August 17 service contributed to or caused the overheating event.

When starting from a stop, putting foot on the gas pedal the car won’t move. Hesitates for a longtime. It has happened numerous times since purchased new. The manufacturer stated that engineering is looking into it, with no definitive answers. No warning lights. It just won’t go, at times which is a safety concerning especially when crossing with oncoming traffic. Unresponsive.

Strong smell of gas coming from around the car and near rear end of car. Usually after a drive. The smell does not happen after every drive. I brought up the smell to my husband a number of times within the year…and finally took to JD Auto in Arizona in June but the gas smell could not be replicated and no source or defect could be visually seen. No recall for this has been reported by Lexus. dealership. No check engine light has been recorded. Worried that there is some internal issue that could cause huge problems. I do have children who have also reported smelling the gas in the back seat.

We have had 2 windshields crack on the Lexus TX350, with very low impact to the windshield by very small road debris. Both windshields require(d) replacement due to long migrating cracks. There are several issues with the windshields on the TX350 per online searches. The windshields are a laminated acrylic one that are prone to cracks requiring replacement. This is a common issue on the TX350. The windshields are on long back orders for a genuine Lexus part. We are having our second windshield replaced on XXX at the Lexus dealer. I am of the opinion that this issue should be looked into by NHTSA for a potential recall and improved manufacturing process for future original equipment and genuine Lexus replacement. Our TX350 will be available for inspection on XXX at Parker Lexus in Little Rock Arkansas. The approximate cost to replace the windshield is $1850.00. We are not claiming the windshield on our insurance for this replacement for fear of potentially being cancelled by our insurance company. Please research this issue at your earliest convenience and feel free to request more information from me if needed to help in the assessment of the problem. We look forward to hearing from you asap. Air conditioner condensers being subject to road hazards, rocks/debri. Causing to lose all refrigerant. Multiple claims on Lexus forums. Seems to be a design flaw.
