The contact owns a 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V844000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 MPH the "Hybrid" warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that while driving in a rainstorm, the windshield wipers failed, and the contact pulled over. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle returned to normal functionality; however, the "Hybrid" warning light remained illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed that the main propulsion battery needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle could no longer be started. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

We took the car in for the recalls. ASC245 Headliner plates - they state they still don’t have the part. BSC2484QF HECU fuse. After they replaced the fuse, the car started losing power when driving, as well as the traction control lights were on, and the brake lights were on. I have read on the KIA forum this is happening to multiple people following the fuse replacement. We took the car back to KIA the same day and they told us it was nothing to do with what they did. We have now taken it to another non KIA mechanic. This is extremely dangerous and clearly related.

Code P-030300 was detected when doing a diagnostic on my car when the check engine light came on. It is a cylinder 3 misfire. When the car comes to a idle the car starts to shake roughly. I took it to the KIA dealership I bought the car from and they told me I would need a new engine and not to drive it.Thankfully nothing bad happened while my baby was in the car. I drove it home and stopped driving it completely once the issue occurred.

Drove this 15 Kia Optima on the highway when all of a sudden it lost power and died. There was no lights or symptoms prior to this happening. The vehicle ran as it should up until the other day, the Engine had no codes or lights on in the vehicle.. Then without any signs at all the vehicle stalled and almost caused an accident on the highway and the would not start. Barely made it to the breakdown lane. We had it towed to a shop and We spent some time checking the Kia over to find out the starter had melted. We installed a new starter and now the engine has a very loud knocking sound that was never there before. Based on reading the safety recalls and bulletins on this Kia and issues surrounding this vehicle online, we should meet the criteria for a claim. Can you help me please!!!!

The contact owns a 2015 Kia Optima. The contact stated that the check engine and battery warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the engine had been replaced two weeks prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer for routine maintenance; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. In addition, during a battery replacement, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated and smoke was coming from the vents. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an EVAP leak, the canister purge valve had cracked, and the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced Kia Campaign Number: SC135. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

engine burns excessive oil that comes out the tail pipe. dash will not illuminate when there is insufficient oil and that could cause damage to engine. safety issue as it has it could leave or stranded with no working car in middle of no where. several independent oil and mechanic organization's have told me these models burn excessive oil. vehicle has been inspected by car manufacturer during oil changes. car rattles from lack of oil confirmed from a local mechanic. engine burns excessive oil due with no light indicator on dash. several mechanic and oil shops have told me this model has issues with this.

Despite meticulous maintenance and care, I have been experiencing significant issues with the vehicle that are concerning, especially considering its relatively low mileage of only 107,000 miles. The primary issues are as follows: 1.Excessive Oil Consumption: My Kia Optima SX has been burning an excessive amount of oil, necessitating frequent top-offs well before the recommended oil change intervals. This is not only inconvenient but also raises serious concerns about the long-term health and reliability of the engine. 2.Engine Hesitation: The vehicle exhibits extreme hesitation during acceleration. This hesitation occurs sporadically, making it difficult to anticipate and presenting a potential safety hazard, especially when merging onto highways or attempting to overtake other vehicles. These issues are unacceptable for a vehicle with such low mileage and are not in line with the quality and reliability I expected when purchasing a Kia. I brought this car [XXX] and the next day it broke down didn’t start at all I been saying I wanted my money back from day he didn’t take no for answer basically held me hostage until I paid everything. I brought this car and been without a car since this is totally unfair . The Clean state motors is a bad service communication place to buy car it was totally the opposite before I gave money for car. Once I gave money they all got mean and had attitudes was saying they was ready to leave instead of giving my money back kept going down finding different prices for car insurance reason why I really brought car I was mentally force and I’m mentally going threw a lot of things because of this . I don’t have no car and the car dealer shop called me and told me I couldn’t get no rental so I can stop calling . I need a new car . A rental . I have missed out on Money work and I have 2 kids going on [XXX] old this month on [XXX] these people do not care they took my money and still forcing me to pay 1000 and car note 284 when I haven’t had the car but for one day the next day the car broke down . I am sewing will hear from my lawyer He said I had 30 days to come get my Monet back the next morning I called for my money back they said no this unfair I turn in all information paid insurance 795 which is to high I just need my money back I didn’t even get to keep car a week literally next day car did not start he never said car was being brought as is if so I would have not brought it and I didn’t sign all those papers Delewin had to forfeit my signature this was fraud scam to me I need a car the engine broke down car batter was linking and white acid was everywhere inside front car and I wasn’t suppose to look at that car is was a white Kia 2019 This not right this unfair please help me on fixing this I deserve a car INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Driving one day in Dec 2021, and there was a hybrid system warning and vehicle suddenly stopped on the road. Called tow truck. We were unable to put the car in neutral to tow. Had tow truck deliver to dealership for diagnostic and repair. Dealer replaced transmission and stated it was covered under warranty. Finally got vehicle back and warning still pops on dashboard. We’ve taken it back several times and warning randomly appears. Dealership unable to recreate the warning to diagnose. Unable to drive the vehicle over long distances due to safety concerns.

I purchased a brand new Kia from an authorized Kia dealership. The vehicle in question is a 2015 Kia Optima, white pearl in color. Since its purchase, I have maintained this vehicle ensuring that it is serviced regularly at authorized Kia service centers and taking all necessary steps to protect its exterior. Despite these efforts, I have recently observed a drastic deterioration in the paint quality of my vehicle. Specifically, the paint on my Kia Optima has been peeling extensively in several areas, including the roof, hood, and trunk. This issue not only affects the vehicle's aesthetic appeal but also raises concerns about the potential for further deterioration and damage to the underlying metal, which could lead to rust and other long-term issues. I have conducted some research and discovered that paint peeling issues are not uncommon with vehicles of this model and color. It appears that this problem may be linked to a manufacturing defect, particularly with the application and adhesion of the paint. I believe this to be a defect that falls under Kia's responsibility, as the paint should reasonably be expected to last much longer under normal use and care conditions.

The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact turned off the vehicle, and the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the residence, where an independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under an unknown recall because the recall had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the unknown recall because the recall had expired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Oil consumption issue. My mechanic referred me to Kia because oil consumption. I would bring car in because oil light and no oil in car and had oil change only 1000 miles. Kia did 2 checks one at 1000 miles and one at 500 miles and oil consumption failed both times. Now I have to pay $686 for oil combustion cleaning even though I am being told this is more than likely going to have engine replaced by Kia because of known issues,
