Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2004-2007 Jeep Liberty vehicles. The rear suspension lower control arms can fracture due to excessive corrosion, causing a loss of vehicle control.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2012 Jeep Liberty and 2012-2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger vehicles. A component within the occupant restraint controller (ORC) may fail and prevent the active headrests from deploying in the event of a rear-end crash.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2003 Jeep Liberty vehicles manufactured March 29, 2003, to July 3, 2003, and 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured May 27, 2003, to May 20, 2004. Due to electrical noise beyond the tolerance of the air bag electronic control module (ECM), a component in the ECM may fail, causing the front air bags, side air bags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners to deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2006 Dodge Viper and Jeep Wrangler and Liberty vehicles manufactured July 1, 2005, to July 31, 2006. In the affected vehicles, the springs within the clutch pedal position switch that prevents the vehicle from starting unless the clutch pedal is pushed down may break. As a result, the vehicle may not be started when the clutch pedal is pushed down or the engine may crank and start without the clutch pedal being pushed down causing the vehicle to unexpectedly lurch.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2002-2003 Jeep Liberty vehicles manufactured January 9, 2001, to March 28, 2003, 2002-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 13, 2001, to May 23 2003, and 2003-2004 Dodge Viper vehicles manufactured November 1, 2001, to June 30, 2004. Due to electrical noise beyond the tolerance of the air bag electronic control module (ECM), a component in the ECM may fail, causing the front air bags, side air bags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners to deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated.
On XXX, my [XXX] son was actively operating my 2003 Jeep Liberty. While driving at approximately 15 MPH, the vehicle’s airbags spontaneously and violently deployed without warning. There was absolutely no collision, impact, or external force that triggered this event. The vehicle did not hit another car, a guardrail, a curb, or any significant road debris. This was a completely unprovoked, spontaneous, and inadvertent component failure while the vehicle was in motion. INJURIES AND DAMAGES Sustained: As a direct result of this spontaneous deployment while driving, I have sustained physical injuries, including: • Trauma and injury to my wrist and thumb from the physical force of the deployment. • Severe acoustic trauma resulting in persistent ringing in my ears (tinnitus). Due to the severe safety risk, property damage, and physical injuries caused by this documented manufacturing defect, I am demanding that FCA/Jeep Corporate immediately: 1. Open an urgent safety investigation file regarding this VIN. 2. Provide instructions on where to have the vehicle towed and inspected by an authorized corporate representative to preserve the computer and physical evidence. 3. Establish a direct point of contact within your corporate claims/legal department to discuss compensation for my medical expenses, towing fees, and property damage. Please contact me immediately at the phone number or email address listed below to confirm receipt of this notice and provide my corporate case file number. Original right side lower ball joint broke at 59,000 miles.
No injuries · No fire · No crash
I was backing up in a yard and the front passenger wheel folded up underneath the vehicle. I went to look and noticed that the ball joint had completely separated from the joint. This caused damage to my front passenger panel and fender.
No injuries · No fire · No crash
The front passenger side lower ball joint corroded, failed, or detached while I was driving, causing the front of the car to basically fall onto the tire/steering to fail. I had to immediately pull over right before entering the highway as it was undriveable. Thankfully I wasn’t going fast bc this could’ve caused a crash or flipped my car. There was a recall for this exact issue for 800,000 Jeeps of the same make, model, and year, but this exact VIN wasn’t included in the recall. No warning lights or symptoms appeared prior to this occurring. I am asking for an expansion of this recall notice to include my VIN as clearly this issue is one in the same.

i HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2011 AND BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY OR SOMETIMES STAYING ON DURING TRIP WHETHER A PASSENGER WAS IN THE SEAT OR NOT. HAD TO INSTALL A NEW MOTOR IN 2025 DUE TO ANTIFREEZE OVERFLOWING INTO ENGINE COMPONENTS APPARENTLY AFTER OVERHEATING EVEN THOUGH GAUGE ON DASH NEVER INDICATED ISSUE. SQUEEKING SOUND WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, CERT MECHANIC INSTALLED FRONT PADS AND ROTORS AND REAR BRAKE PADS AND LEFT REAR BRAKE CALIPER FOR A TOTAL COST OF $620. TRAVELED TO KC (APPX 100 MILES) ONE DAY LATER AND VEHICLE BEGAN LOSING ACCELERATION, STUTTERED AND SEEEMED TO SURGE INTERMITENTLY THEN REAR BRAKE BEGAN LOCKING UP AND SMOKING EXCESSIVELY BEFORE ILLUMINATING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. DRAGGIN/LOCKING REAR BRAKE BROKE LOOSE ON DRIVE BACK HOME BUT STILL HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TOOK BACK TO MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED RAPID MISFIRE ON CYLINDER NO. 1 BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO TRACE CAUSE. RECOMMENDED TAKING TO DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC AT A COST OF $150 PER HOUR. ALL 3 ISSUES I AM REPORTING ARE APPARENTLY PERVASIVE WITH THIS VEHICLE AS i HAVE READ NUMEROUS DOCUMENTED COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS HAVING THE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUES. HOWEVER, NHTSA WEBSITE INDICATES THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH MY VEHICLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!
