New vehicle failure to start on four occasions over approximately sixteen months due to overnight parasitic battery drain. Following the first incident the dealer replaced both the main and auxiliary batteries. Following the second incident the dealer tested and charged both batteries and performed software update to body control module (BCM). Following the third incident the dealer tested both batteries and checked codes. Following the fourth incident the dealer replaced both the main and auxiliary batteries. The incidents required towing or jump starting.

Vehicle was unable to be shutdown and was locked in park. Can was not responding to turning off while in the garage and engine running. Since the vehicle was inside an attached garage, we were concerned about Carbon Monoxide getting into the house. No way to turn car off and had to involve police/fire department. Disconnected the battery terminal in the trunk which was unable to be opened, so we had to crawl through the side passenger door to get into the trunk. The vehicle is now at the dealer (Wilde Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, at [XXX] in [XXX]). No police report #, but CAD entry from officer in having to assist. While driving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly applied the brakes very hard without any braking input from me. There was no apparent obstacle, vehicle, or other condition in front of me that would have required emergency braking. The braking was extremely abrupt and forceful. The sudden deceleration caused my seat belt to lock and restrain me hard enough to cause significant bruising and pain across my chest and reconstructed breasts. I recently underwent a double mastectomy with breast reconstruction, which made the impact and resulting injury particularly concerning. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership immediately following the incident because I am concerned that the vehicle's automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning system, or another braking or electronic system may have malfunctioned. The dealership has now had the vehicle for approximately one week. I have been advised that they have been unable to reproduce the incident or identify a problem that explains why the vehicle unexpectedly applied the brakes. I am extremely concerned about operating the vehicle because the cause of this unintended braking event has not been identified or repaired, and I have no assurance that it will not happen again. An unexpected emergency-braking event at highway speed, in traffic, or with another vehicle traveling closely behind could result in a serious collision or injury. This incident is particularly concerning to me given the other safety-related recalls and issues affecting my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA has a record of the unintended braking event and can determine whether similar incidents have been reported involving this vehicle or its braking/automatic emergency braking systems.

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the contact’s daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed on the way to work, another driver crossed the road and crashed into the vehicle. The air bags in the daughter’s vehicle failed to deploy as needed. The front of the vehicle was damaged, the hood was bent, the grill was damaged, and headlights were knocked out of the headlight enclosures. The daughter was taken to a clinic, and an X-ray determined that there was a swollen tendon in the left knee, and medical treatment was provided. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot due to a transmission fluid leak. A Police report was filed but was not yet provided. The vehicle was not yet inspected or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
2025 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE – UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND UNEXPECTED BRAKING I am reporting multiple intermittent safety-related problems with my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, VIN [XXX], involving Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), unexpected acceleration, and unexpected braking. While driving on the highway with ACC activated, the vehicle has on multiple occasions behaved unpredictably. When another vehicle enters or cuts into my lane, my Grand Cherokee does not always reduce speed as expected. On some occasions, the vehicle has accelerated even though another vehicle was directly ahead or entering my path. One of these incidents occurred before a collision. I was traveling in my lane with the driver-assistance/ACC system activated when another vehicle crossed into my path. My Jeep continued traveling forward and did not automatically slow or brake sufficiently in response to the vehicle entering my path. When I manually applied the brakes, there was not enough distance remaining to avoid the collision. I have also experienced approximately two incidents on the highway involving unexpected aggressive braking. When I manually touched the brake pedal, the instrument cluster displayed a red warning and the vehicle suddenly applied extremely hard braking. The braking response was substantially more aggressive than the brake input I was providing. In addition, on one occasion while leaving my office at low speed, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated without my intentionally commanding the acceleration. The Adaptive Cruise Control and driver-assistance system were OFF at the time. This incident is particularly concerning because it occurred independently of ACC operation. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Jeep dealership and I reported all of these conditions. The dealership advised me that because the problems are intermittent, if they cannot duplicate the condition they cannot determine what repair to perform.
