VEHICLE : IMNFINITI QX50 YEAR: 2020 LOCATION : PUERTO RICO My Infiniti QX50 has an active engine recall by VIN In 2023 the Infiniti dealer in San Juan PR documented oil sludge in the engine and performed and engine flush and internal treatment . The vehicle was returned to service and was not declare unsafe In 2024 , the same Infiniti dealer performed maintenance and again returned the vehicle to service without restriction The vehicle has now develop internal engine damage . The dealer is denying recall coverage , stating the damage is due to oil sludge and alleged lack of maintenance . The denial is inconsistent with service history , as the sludge was documented and treated while the vehicle was under dealer maintenance , and dealer performed maintenance continued after that finding. Additionally , Infiniti Consumer Affair stated they cannot assist because the vehicle is in Puerto Rico. I am concerned about federal safety recall. not being honored in US territory , and about vehicle being unsafe to operate due to engine failure risk I am requesting NHTSA review and assistance to ensure recall compliance

I proactively brought my Infiniti QX50 to the dealership for inspection due to the recall. The service department found metal in the engine, which they stated is related to a known recall issue. The service department told me that I need an engine replacement, but Infiniti has denied engine replacement despite this finding. According to the recall, metal inside the engine presents a risk of sudden engine failure, including loss of power while driving, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall exists to prevent this exact outcome, yet the manufacturer is refusing the recommended remedy. I am concerned about vehicle safety and believe this condition should qualify for engine replacement under the recall.

I took my vehicle into Roswell Infiniti to repair/replace the engine bearings as instructed on the recall notice and as it has been making noises and I have experienced rough driving. The workers did not repair or replace the bearings. And when I reported rough driving and problems with the engine, they offered to charge me $175 for a diagnostic fee. The engine is still driving rough and making knocking noises.

Car experienced sudden braking on roadway upon entering a covered bridge. Red screen on dash and beeping. Bringing vehicle into Infiniti dealer for service to see if there are diagnostics they can run to determine the cause of the event.

Vehicle: 2021 Infiniti QX50 VIN: [XXX] Mileage at second failure: 154,282 miles I am reporting a repeat engine failure involving bearing material consistent with a known Infiniti VC-Turbo engine defect. The original engine in my 2021 Infiniti QX50 failed and was replaced with a brand-new long block in May 2024 at approximately 85,700 miles. I paid for this engine replacement out of pocket because the recall had not yet been issued. After the engine replacement, the vehicle was regularly maintained with full synthetic oil at reasonable intervals. There was no sludge present in oil, upon inspection. After receiving notice of Infiniti recall R25B2, I contacted the authorized Infiniti dealer (Ed Hicks Infiniti) to request an inspection and was advised to wait because the recall was temporarily on hold. As a precaution, I had another dealership inspect the oil and oil pan on August 18, 2025, and no debris or abnormalities were found at that time. On [XXX], the vehicle experienced engine failure symptoms and was towed to Ed Hicks Infiniti. The dealer inspected the engine and confirmed bearing material present in the oil pan with no sludge. This is the same failure mode described in the recall. Infiniti denied recall coverage and goodwill assistance solely due to total vehicle mileage, despite the fact that: • The failed engine was a replacement engine installed before the recall • The failure occurred well before a reasonable engine lifespan • The failure mode matches the recall defect • There was no evidence of neglect or sludge I am reporting this to document a repeat engine failure related to a known defect and to request regulatory review, as consumers who paid for engine replacements prior to the recall appear to be excluded despite experiencing the same safety-related failure. I received notification from Infiniti there was a recall for engines failing in the model I drive. I promptly took my vehicle to the dealership, and they confirmed there is metal shavings engine and Infiniti refused to replace the engine. An independent review was done by Infiniti and even though the dealership agrees engine needs replaced Infiniti refused. I am attaching invoice and pictures attached of oil pan confirming metal shavings are present.

A few months ago, I received an email from CarFax letting me know that my vehicle, a 2019 Infiniti QX50 with 2.0L Turbo Engine had a major recall (NHTSA Recall Campaign No. 25V-437). The letter indicated the recall was due to issues with the engine bearings which could lead to a catastrophic failure. I wasn't sure what this meant, so I took the car to Austin INFINITI. The technicians checked the oil pan to see if there were issues. My understanding is that the oil pan should have been removed, drained of all oil to ensure there were no issues that could lead to the catastrophic failure of the engine. None of this was done. I was given my car back and told all was okay. Unfortunately On the evening of November 10, 2025, my vehicle’s engine suddenly seized while driving at highway speeds. Fortunately, I was able to coast onto the Frontage Road. For my protection, the Police Department arrived quickly to park police vehicles in the front and back of my car with their lights on to avoid a nighttime collision or worse. I had no idea why my engine suddenly lost power while driving down the highway and continued to refuse to start despite repeated attempts to restart the vehicle, the engine would not start. I was scared to death and this situation has exacerbated my current diagnosis of PTSD for which I am currently in treatment. This was a horrifying event that could have cost me my life. I can't eat or sleep and experience nightmares that my car died, then I am hit by a car driving at highway speeds as I tried to exit the vehicle. My wife and I are both terrified of driving the car now. I tried to resolve the issue with my local INFINITI dealership and even contacted NISSA/INFINITI executives. I was met with disregard, disrespect and a $1,700 bill to replace the starter that burned out as we kept trying to start the car. The starter burnout was a secondary cause due to the primary issue of the engine seizure. Infiniti disagreed and insisted on the $1,700 for the starter.

While driving on the highway and using the hands free feature on iPhone, I said, Hey Siri, and somehow it made the automatic braking on my 2019 Infiniti Qx50 engage unexpectedly. This is not the first time it has engaged unexpectedly and there are also instances when the sensors engage without anything nearby.
