Cruise control on 55mph, car has slowed down going straight no uphill or downhill and accelerator did not work nothing blocking the accelerator. Had to pull over to a shoulder to shut engine off and on to drive. Tapping cruise control up to speed up in regulated area such as from 55 to a 65mph zone.. cruise control speed lowered. Attempting to speed up with accelerator still only slowing down. 3 times this year I had to change spark plugs within a 6 month period Error code p0302. Replaced battery alongside. Continues p0302 code. Replaced all coils and spark plugs still p0302. Climbing uphill vehicle sometimes looses power that happened twice in 2025 and twice in 2022. 3 times in 2024. That i must turn on hazards and floor the accelerator to gain speed on up hills in neighborhoods going 25 mph. I have dropped to 10 mph. I get oil change regularly. Always when due. Every few months I make sure to get a full car inspection to make sure everything is in proper working order.

When I am using cruise control, my car will just randomly slam on its breaks. I have taken my car into the dealer multiple times, and they have written it off everytime. They have said it’s “direct sunlight” yet I can prove it’s not happening in the sunlight. It happened again today when it was cloudy. It’s also happened before the sun came up in the morning. I have even filed a case with Hyundai directly, and they said if they can’t get it to mimic it, then they can’t do anything about it. But it’s so random, sometimes it happens 50 miles from home, other times it’s 300 miles from home. Always willing to let anyone inspect my vehicle to help solve this issue. I’ve been taking it to my dealer for a full year until I found out I needed to come put it here. It’s random, it won’t happen in the same spot twice. But every time it’s done it, there is never a vehicle in front of me. My assumption is there is a defect with the adaptive cruise control. I’ve talked with Hyundai and they claim they’ve never heard of this happening to anyone, yet when I google it, there are MULTIPLE forums with people stating this exact thing is happening to them. SAFETY issue is it slams on the brakes so hard I’ll go from 80 to 65 before I can get the cruise control off. If someone is behind me when it does this, they will slam into me.when I’m dropping 15 mph quickly, that vehicle behind me will hit me like I’m a stopped object. No warning lights before it happens. This has been happening since I bought my vehicle at 0moled to now where I have 34k miles

Low pressure oil light did not come on until the oil drain plug had completely fallen out. Once the light came on, the vehicle was slowed and came to a stop on the side of the highway within 2 minutes. The car completely shut off as if the battery were dead. It had to be jumped in order to put the car into neutral for the tow truck. The safety issue is that the hwy we were traveling on is 70mph. At no time, did we receive a warning until it was almost too late. The car is currently at an auto repair shop as the engine is most likely catastrophic and due to the car having no power, they want to replace not only the engine but also the 12 volt battery and it's module. The low pressure oil warning should have come on way before the plug completely fell out and the battery should not be dead. The mechanics can't even fathom why an engine would fail quickly and drain the battery as well.

Yesterday my horn ceased working again and someone almost side swiped me. This is the 3rd time on my 2023 Elantra. I have 2 Hyundai Elantras that Have had to send to the dealership to replace the horns multiple times. I had the same issue with my Venue, which appears to have had some type of NHTSA action, and feel that the Elantras should be included on said action as they utilize the same horn components. On 11/18/ 25 I was driving in highway traffic at 60MPH and car suddenly slowed down to 30MPH. My car would not accelerate no matter how hard I tried. With luck and prayer I moved over two lanes to shoulder...shut off the car for about 10 sec...restarted...and car ran normal again. I When deceleration occurred I saw a notice-symbol light up on the infotainment panel in a black space directly parallel to the total mileage odometer. On 11/21/25 I went to dealer, who checked car out and did not find any problem. I then went online and saw ISLA...Intelligent Speed Limit Assistance...a choice I did not have on my infotainment system. If I had it, I wanted to turn mine OFF. We're scared it could happen again.

At around the 120K mile odometer reading check engine light came on and upon checking the oil, noticed it was 1/2 qt. down in spite of a recent oil change. There were no other issues apparent to our mechanic. At the next oil change, we asked the techs to be sure to tighten the oil pan and all components as we mentioned the drop in oil after the previous oil change. This time, only 10 days after the oil change (we have been using hybrid blend since purchasing the vehicle new), the check engine light went on again and the oil was down a quart with no signs of leaking. Our mechanic checked it again and told us of many Hyundai oil consumption issues and suggested we check for a recall. My vehicle was not included in the oil consumption recall despite having the same year, model and engine as many of the other "certain" vehicles. We are currently negotiating a solution with Hyundai Motor Corp.

It is showing signs of excessive oil consumption. 200 miles before my next scheduled oil change there was no oil in the car, causing overheating issues. It uses the same engine as other recalled years for the same issue. However they never issued a recall for the 2018. The only update I've ever received was a surprise notice from Valvoline, mid oil change, that if I didn't use the more expensive oil change option, which I couldn't afford in the moment, that I would void any warranty from Hyundai. There was no prior notice or contact from Hyundai informing me of this "New" (the valvoline tech's words not mine) policy. So not only is my car experiencing an issue known to affect this engine, they get to absolve themselves from responsibility by surprising someone with a greater expense than they are expecting, by not giving notice to their customers? This doesn't seem fair and needs to be addressed. Since that first visit I have followed their recommended oil change specs and still have excessive consumption. The date I'm giving is the approximate date of that first visit to valvoline when my car had no oil and I was told mid change about the new policy.

We went to a dealership to get it inspected due to a knocking noise in the engine. They used a tool and said it was most likely cylinder 3 piston slap. There was an issue with this according to Hyundai in the past. This puts my wife at risk because if it ends up blowing up, it could send shrapnel through the motor or cause her to wreck her vehicle if it happens while driving. This was diagnosed by a local dealership. No engine light is on at the time. This started a few weeks ago. The car is around 132,000 miles. Thank you!

The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while stopped in traffic with the vehicle idling, the vehicle vibrated, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that for the rest of the drive, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. While the contact was entering a driveway, the vehicle stalled. The contact waited for several minutes before being able to restart the vehicle. The contact then drove to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the engine was making an abnormal rattling sound and the piston oil ring had failed. The vehicle was not repaired; however, an oil change was performed. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000.

The “Consider Taking a Break” notification while driving is incredibly loud and distracting even when on the lowest setting and can repeat up to every 20’ while driving. While it is helpful to take a break on extended trips, it is not reasonable to stop that frequently. On long drives, this alert becomes nothing more than an irritant and distraction. There is no option to disable or silence this warning outside of turning off ALL safety notification sounds.I will probably do that just to avoid this notification, which compromises all of the other safety notification sounds that are far more important (ex. Lane departure, forward collision, and blind spot detection).

I didn't know the horn wasn't working. I was driving and a vehicle almost backed into me on the drivers door. I couldn't warn them that I was behind them I was fortunate to move before they backed into me. I haven't taken the car to the dealer. I searched on the internet to see if this was an isolated incident and I found hundreds of incidents of people reporting faulty horns on Hyundai vehicles. This should be a safety and a recall issue/

RE: 2025 HYUNDAI ELANTRA LIMITED AUTOMATIC BRAKE CONTROL On a recent road trip, the automatic brake system activated twice in a manner that could have put our lives at risk. The list below applies to both incidents: On a four lane interstate highway at approximately 70 mph. Wide, level median. Full daylight. Dry pavement. Unlimited visibility. Flat landscape. No objects in the median or anywhere abutting the lanes. No wind. No car for at least a mile ahead of us, none next to us. Brakes were suddenly applied by the “assist.” Brakes so violent we were pushed forward in our seatbelts. Second incident so violent and persistent I started to pull off to the side of the lane for fear of being struck from behind. In both incidents, the “assist” eventually quit. Had this happened with a semi behind us unable to slow down fast enough we could have been severely injured or killed. Apparently, the “assist” cannot be turned off for good. Since the above incidents, we did try to shut off the’”assist" but it was back in operation the next time we started the car. This situation needs to be addressed. The “assist” seemed to want to assist us into an early grave.

Engine is burning too hot its burning though oil. Oil change sept 3rd 2025 and by nov 7 2025 car had NO OIL. this is an oil burn off issue with the sport engine in this model Elantra. i cannot get an oil change every month. that is ridiculous. this time it caused my car to have flashing engine light due to insanely low oil after just TWO MONTHS. i only drive 60 miles a day. shop told me in april15 20205 i had an oil leak and they fixed it, resealed again in july cuz the oil was still going low. now they told me nov 11th they did a test and the engine is running too hot and is burning off the oil.

Vehicle Information: 2014 Hyundai Elantra SE Sedan, 4-Cylinder, 6-Speed Automatic, FWD Build Location: USA-Built Version (Montgomery, AL - VIN '5NP') Ownership: Second owner, purchased Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) from the Hyundai of New Port Richey dealer (Florida) in March 2016. Vehicle is owned outright. Mileage: 128,638 Approximate Date Incident Noticed: October 1, 2025 DESCRIPTION OF CRITICAL SAFETY DEFECT & WARRANTY REJECTION I am reporting a failure of the clock spring assembly, which compromises critical safety features and poses an unreasonable risk, especially since this vehicle regularly transports passengers, including children. My VIN was rejected by the Hyundai TXXA Clock Spring Extended Warranty validator despite exhibiting the exact failures covered by the campaign. Safety Failures: Airbag (SRS): Warning light is constantly illuminated; driver-side airbag is disabled and will not deploy, endangering the driver and front passenger. Horn: Completely inoperable, eliminating a vital safety communication feature required to warn other drivers. Cruise Control: Buttons on the steering wheel are non-functional. These failures are caused by a broken electrical connection within the clock spring (which typically runs the Airbag, Horn, and Cruise Control circuits). I believe the denial is related to my vehicle being the USA-Built version (VIN '5NP'). I request that NHTSA investigate why this safety campaign arbitrarily excludes USA-built Elantras (but not Korean-built) experiencing the identical failure, thereby placing an unreasonable repair cost burden on owners for a critical safety component.
